    In this video we are unboxing and reviewing the M2.5 by RZ Mask - which is in my opinion the best dust mask on the market. The M2 is also very strong in my opinion, but the dual straps on the 2.5 make it the BEST there is. I hope this review helps you to make a decision on your next purchase and THANK YOU so much for watching!!

    Excellent review. A little long, but covered it all even a comparison to the original mask.
    You can make any strap "sticky" like the spare straps by applying a small strip of silicon caulking or a few drops of hot glue.
    I do that to dirt bike goggles, scuba mask etc

    I have a smaller size m2 with the single strap and I just ordered the 2.5 in a larger size. Do you have any problems with the top strap sliding or moving while you’re working? That’s my only concern. I liked the m2 but I felt like I was restricted with my head movements. Thanks!

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад +1

      Trey, with the 2.5 there is one strap that has a rubber-like texture to it and that’s the one I put on the top of my head. It stays in place very well! The m2 definitely keeps my head from moving as freely as well, but I like having both options because the m2 is definitely great to put on quick and take right back off. I use the 2.5 for longer use scenarios. Thanks for watching and for the comment!! 🙏🏻💪🏻

    I already purchased the RZ M2.5 mask but it has yet to arrive. Still, I wanted to get a better idea of what to expect. I have the M2 with a single wide neck strap, but it feels like it rides down a bit. That is probably largely due to my wearing a bandana over it while at work. (During the pandemic they don't want us using valved masks that vent unfiltered air, so I offered covering with the bandana as a compromise.) I have worked with a number of masks and especially like those with a strap behind the neck and a strap up over the head, and was even modifying the straps on other masks so they would work that way. Glad to see that is what this is doing, and I can't wait for it to arrive. The RZ mesh masks are light, the mesh is comfortable, the filters create a great 360 seal and are easy to breath through, and the valves keep the mask from getting warm and moist. These straps? They should make this the perfect mask!

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад +1

      I agree I love the straps on my head because I felt the same as you with it riding down. I hope you get your new one soon man and stay safe out there! 💪🏻

    • @TimothyChase
      @TimothyChase 4 года назад

      One thing... I had read that the RZ M2 can be adjusted for a better fit. There is of course how much you choose to have the Velcro behind the neck overlap and thus how tightly you wear it. However, RZ suggests also adjusting how they overlap, that is, whether you create a rising or falling X that in effect counterbalances the tightest point in front, whether the bridge of the nose or the chin. Makes sense, although obviously getting the right size should come first. Anyway, I find that it rides better after making that adjustment, but I believe I will still prefer the RZ M2.5.
      Be well...

    I work in landscaping on a tree crew. We are always chipping branches and trees and green waste. Also chainsawing and lots of work including sawdust and regular dirt dust. I’m interested in one of these masks but wonder how easy it is to remove them from your mouth area. Do I have to take off the mask every time or can I pull it down making it hang from my neck? Work in Hawaii in the hot sun and don’t want to wear a mask covering my face all day when I don’t need it. Don’t want to take off my helmet, ear protection and glasses off just to take off my dust mask.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад

      Awesome question - you’d want to do the M2 most likely. I have one of those too for situations where I’m wearing a hat all day. It only latches around the back of your neck so you don’t have to take off any gear. Super comfy too!
      Here’s a link to that type - rzmask.com/collections/m2-mask
      Thanks for watching and if you grab one I hope it works out for you!! I’ve been using both Types (M2 and M2.5) for a long time, and enjoy both! 💪🏻

      Look I'm a kid but i personally recommend you to use a better filtration mask than a regular n95 respirator,the mask shown in the video is better than an n95 but a more heavy duty mask is needed like a Dual Filter Respirator.
      If somehow you don't want or maybe can't afford a heavy duty respirator then a Activated Carbon Surgical mask underneath an N95 mask will provide a better filtration system (the mask in the video would still be %20 more effective)
      *EDIT:* Just use a mask that has a layer of Activated Carbon.

    • @totallyfrozen
      @totallyfrozen 4 года назад

      SCODI OFFICER:001
      I think your information is not the best. This mask is not better than an N95. These masks can have 3 different filters. The F2 is comparable to the N95. Most N95 and the surgical/treatment masks are disposable. You can spend a lot of money in disposable masks (I have) and now with the COVID-19 stuff going on, they are getting harder and harder to find at a reasonable price.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад

      I may have read their site differently but I thought I read that all of their filters are technically tested to be higher than N95s - they’ve got all their testing data available for reading. Now that doesn’t change the fit and form of the mask vs a standard N95 and I also have a beard... the point is we gotta use what you like using - everyone is different. 👍🏻

    I'm thinking that your glasses don't fog up because your exhale is going out of the vents (pointed down) and not out the top of the mask. It's the warm moist air hitting your cooler glasses that causes them to fog up.
    I have bad hay fever and bought a knockoff version last year for doing yardwork. It was a huge help for me. I may have to get the M2.5 and see if that's even better.

I used it while I chipped up all the leaves and dead wood from my yard, and I've worn it while sanding 6 chairs I'm refinishing. I have an M2 that fog my glasses no matter what I do. Like a comment below, I think my nose is too big. When I pull the mask down to fit glasses, my nose is pinched and respiration is difficult. Via email RZMask suggested that I try an M2.5 with two straps. This was a while ago. When I went to the website to purchase said M2.5 none were available. I just checked the link that you provide with similar result: "Sold Out." I now have a 3M 7503 with the pink dust covers, which block 100% of everything below 0.3mm, hence the P100 disignation, that fit into the cartridge holes without the extra volume and weight of the standard cartridges in the plastic container. The mask is much lighter with just the dust covers and I am able to check the seal every time I put it on. Further, I can adjust it such that my glasses are in the correct place. Mark Spagnolo "The Wood Whisperer" has an excellent video on youtube where I learned about the dust cover and how to test. Lowes was the only place that had these filters on the shelf. Everywhere else that I have looked have them as special order. I have been using that configuration since no M2.5 was available and will probably not only forgo purchase of the M2.5, but also dispose of my M2.

      Well, I finally got one...and it sucks!
      I bought the 2.5. These masks are very overrated! Not worth the high price. Chief complaint? The filters. 👎🏻
      I stay clean shaven. After the first use, the filter gets fuzzy inside and starts to tickle your nose so badly that you cannot focus, you go insane. This never happened on any of my disposable 3M N95 masks and I’ve reused those every week for a month. I think the dust filtration claims are questionable too. The filters are thin and don’t make an airtight seal around the face. They filter some stuff, but how much? It’s a guess. I think they’re overpriced for what you get and God help you if you’re trying to buy one of these at pandemic prices. They’re a bit softer and cooler than, say, a GVS Elipse P100, but not as comfortable and nowhere near as good at filtration. The mask shell is ok, but the filters are a cruel joke. You’ll become suicidal in under 2 hours. Without filters, a filter mask is useless. Overall, I’m unimpressed and disappointed.

    If you use mask for COVID-19 make sure thin valve disk is not crimped, pinched in valve pieces that might allow outside air in. Also since valve allows exhaled air directly through without filtering to outside wear another cloth mask to cover the valves so you don’t breath directly out on others. Same goes for 3M and other valved industrial masks.

    Seniors or those with health issues don’t have the luxury of N95, or more protective face masks or not. If they absolutely must go out to buy groceries or go to Dr appointments they need all the extra protection they can get there hands- or face, on. It’s a life or death decision for them.

      I agree, and all of us who are able should be wearing masks in public but just not the type like this that have vents for exhaling unfiltered air.

    with a beard, and you admitting your glasses fog up, you may as well not wear it at all because I can say with 100% certainty that mask isn't doing shit.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад

      It fogs up my glasses if I seat the bridge of the glasses underneath the nose cover of the mask (Not to mention the 'L' size is not a good fit for me, and the 'XL' is much better). And having a beard doesn't mean it 'isn't doing shit'... I use this all the time, I promise you that is not the case. BUT that's the beauty of it - we are each entitled to our own opinions. ✌

      @@BuddyGold1 Yeah - definitely right on that, I try to just keep it light on here. I'm no expert on all things, I'm just trying to document my path to the opinions I hold and then share it. Some people feel the need for a hazmat suit, and other don't want a mask at all - I think I'm somewhere in the middle honestly. Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video!

    I bought it at Lowe’s, it sucks. I covers about 50% of dust, doesn’t block chemical smell- go on line and but a $100. Breaking Bad mask- in reality, it could be made and perfected better

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I obviously disagree with you, I think it’s comfortable, easy to wear, good for extended use, and keeps out all kinds of bad dust / odor for me. They have varying degrees of filters too. I have a few of them and use them almost daily. I’m not going to use it if I’m spraying paint or stain... it’s not for that. Thats the beauty of the free market, if it’s not for you it’s for someone else! Thanks for watching and for the comment! 💪🏻
