Ben should ask someone with money to try and make a netflix original that teaches chess but is about a chess club that's professional so they can meta make crazy games, Ben if you read this please do it.
been listening to many of your lectures lately and just an amazing mix of knowledge, instructions and comedy all in one just wanted to say you're amazing
Hello Ben, My name is William and I'm from Detroit. I played you in a Simul before at the All The King's Men Chess Club. Congratulations on You starting your Chess Club in Atlanta! I Hope everything goes Well and very Successful for You and Your Wife!
I'm a new subscriber, and I must say your videos now look so much better when we can enjoy your facial expressions as you deliver those awesome jokes. Still, your content was still high quality back then
Fun fact: In the 5th episode of The Queen's Gambit, the checkmate at the end of the Opera Game makes a cameo appearance in one of the speed chess games.
I've been watching your videos for about a year now, and while I'm doomed to chess mediocrity, I've had a huge improvement to my game from watching your stellar lectures. While its substantially less value than the time I've taken watching the videos, I wanted to say I've donated $35 to your new centre and I hope you can continue to provide these lessons in future.
I'm sure morphy saw bxf7. He was just trying to win as quickly as possible.

I was running out of your lectures on the Saint Louis channel, it's great to hear from you! :) Some tips for the future. Please get a webcam, I think it's not just me who loves your gestures and non-verbals. And also, please bring Arjen back! We need a 7-year-old who can humiliate everybody knowing all the answers. :) Good luck with the Chess Center from Hungary. ;)
Just curious -- Why Atlanta? If most people were asked where are the chess powerhouses in the U.S., I doubt that Atlanta would immediately spring to most people's minds.
Not enough ads LOL. But seriously, if you are going to put multiple midrolls on such a short video, this is the perfect way to do it, putting the ads in the exact spot where he allows you to pause your video and look for the winning move.
Good video! We (who want to learn more about chess) get much more out of it when you are not doing so much stand-up comedy and making fun of a bunch of children and actually explain the thoughts behind the moves. I will watch more of your videos if you keep on delivering this quality. But please think about getting a better microphone ;)
Hi Mr. Finegold! I'll try one like per video. -Thank you but it's "GM Finegold"- Hilarious, I miss your jokes. I hope this channel will be as fun and instructive to watch as 'your' other videos. Pura vida mae!
Yeah that's why Morphy played blindfold simuls and played perfect in an era where he could not stand on the shoulders of giants like his successors could.
Today's players can learn from the masters of the last 150 years. Morphy could not. You would also say a Physics undergrad at your local university is a better physicist than Isaac Newton just because today's students learn about Physics that have been discovered since Newton's day. CAPS uses metrics that show modern masters' chances to beating Morphy in a game but it does not account for Morphy's brilliance to discover so much about chess. Revive Morphy and give him the internet, databases, and modern theory and he'd be 2700+.
between your st louis videos and this, you're basically my netflix at this point!
Same!! Lol

Finegold and Chill
black was quite smart. he left his knight, king, bishop and rook on their original squares to prepare for the next game ^^
Technically speaking, I would say "he left his king, bishop, and rook on their original squares." The knight started its journey on g8...
this is what teamwork gets you...
Ben you are the one who got me really into chess, the funniest man alive.
wow, ben is back. Amazing to hear from you sir. I hope your chess club succeeds.
I miss Paul Morphy, and, of course, Ben.
i miss ken west
Thank you so much Ben! Love this too much, explosive!
Thanks for uploading more videos! I HAVE paid just to watch your videos in the past (on a certain website) and I would gladly pay to watch more!

been listening to many of your lectures lately and just an amazing mix of knowledge, instructions and comedy all in one just wanted to say you're amazing
I picture the Duke and the Count as Statler and Waldorf from the muppets

I'm a new subscriber, and I must say your videos now look so much better when we can enjoy your facial expressions as you deliver those awesome jokes. Still, your content was still high quality back then
Great commentary, with 2 variations I hadn't noticed or seen before: Bf7: early and ... Qb4 near the end. Thank you, Ben!
Fun fact: In the 5th episode of The Queen's Gambit, the checkmate at the end of the Opera Game makes a cameo appearance in one of the speed chess games.

This was in a 1971 Fischer interview. The interviewer actually asked something like, 'Did Morphy win or the Count and the Duke?
Yay! Ur back! Always a pleasure watching ur vids, especially Morphy games.😊👍
I wish I had your videos when I was a kid
Looking forward to many informative analyses :)
And also, many terrible jokes, hahaha

Solid Video, With Advantage!
Hurray!
Terrible!!!!!!
Kidding, fantastic, nice work Ben, hope you get lots of support! Good luck
I wonder how Morphy would have responded to a Queen's pawn opening.
I was running out of videos after watching all your lecture at St Luois Chess Club,
I love how none of your videos have dislikes. That's a rare sight these days!
frankly, excellent
Solid!

Ádám Drobinoha right arjen?
Finegold is the best
Curiously, not one of Morphy's games is in the mammoth book of the 100 best chess games ever played.
Just curious -- Why Atlanta? If most people were asked where are the chess powerhouses in the U.S., I doubt that Atlanta would immediately spring to most people's minds.
gap in the market!
Not enough ads LOL. But seriously, if you are going to put multiple midrolls on such a short video, this is the perfect way to do it, putting the ads in the exact spot where he allows you to pause your video and look for the winning move.
really enjyoed this thank you
Can you recommend a good book on Paul Morphy's games?
"I guess the truth hurts."
Nice video.
6:28 N:E4 looks reasonable
If queen takes E4 then c6 Q:E5 and Be7 with some counterplay.
If castles you can play B C5 with ideas of taking on F2
nope
Hail to the King!
yes!!!!!!
Love you man. When I have some cash, you can have it

funny thing is you are better than morphy was :P morphy was IM level
Yeah that's why Morphy played blindfold simuls and played perfect in an era where he could not stand on the shoulders of giants like his successors could.
? finegold is just a stronger player. CAPS shows morphy to be less than 2500
