      Ben should ask someone with money to try and make a netflix original that teaches chess but is about a chess club that's professional so they can meta make crazy games, Ben if you read this please do it.

    black was quite smart. he left his knight, king, bishop and rook on their original squares to prepare for the next game ^^

      Technically speaking, I would say "he left his king, bishop, and rook on their original squares." The knight started its journey on g8...

    I've been watching your videos for about a year now, and while I'm doomed to chess mediocrity, I've had a huge improvement to my game from watching your stellar lectures. While its substantially less value than the time I've taken watching the videos, I wanted to say I've donated $35 to your new centre and I hope you can continue to provide these lessons in future.

    Not enough ads LOL. But seriously, if you are going to put multiple midrolls on such a short video, this is the perfect way to do it, putting the ads in the exact spot where he allows you to pause your video and look for the winning move.

    6:28 N:E4 looks reasonable
    If queen takes E4 then c6 Q:E5 and Be7 with some counterplay.
    If castles you can play B C5 with ideas of taking on F2

    Good video! We (who want to learn more about chess) get much more out of it when you are not doing so much stand-up comedy and making fun of a bunch of children and actually explain the thoughts behind the moves. I will watch more of your videos if you keep on delivering this quality. But please think about getting a better microphone ;)

    • @AndrewIsbell
      @AndrewIsbell 7 лет назад

      Yeah that's why Morphy played blindfold simuls and played perfect in an era where he could not stand on the shoulders of giants like his successors could.

    • @klimtkiller
      @klimtkiller 7 лет назад

      ? finegold is just a stronger player. CAPS shows morphy to be less than 2500

    • @AndrewIsbell
      @AndrewIsbell 7 лет назад +9

      Today's players can learn from the masters of the last 150 years. Morphy could not. You would also say a Physics undergrad at your local university is a better physicist than Isaac Newton just because today's students learn about Physics that have been discovered since Newton's day. CAPS uses metrics that show modern masters' chances to beating Morphy in a game but it does not account for Morphy's brilliance to discover so much about chess. Revive Morphy and give him the internet, databases, and modern theory and he'd be 2700+.
