I must say, Mercado Da Ribeira is not a tourist trap per se, it's a gourmet place, with fine food, but not totally traditional, more like new age food, fusion food of Portuguese flavours, and international food. some of the stands are of famous Portuguese chefs. but because its gourmet its also pricey as hell. You find variances on traditional food like croquettes, or gourmet bacalhau dishes, or deconstructed dishes like the bacalhau a bras, it has good food and good ingredients, you can even fin a "manteigaria" the one you ate the "natas" there.
I consider tourist traps the restaurants in rua Augusta and around Rossio, they are the ones who try to sell you Portuguese food, but usually made by foreigners working on those restaurants and of low quality, usually those restaurants will have anything from Portuguese food to Italian and indian mixed in...

To go the Castle, you have the Bus at Praça da Figueira and the elevator at Rua dos Fanqueirosnear and you take another elevator at Rua da Madalena e the sortie is pretty close of tha castle, near 200 metres ...and there is also the famous tram 28, but is always full of turists ...

hey! portuguese person here :)) idk if you’re still in portugal but if you are, you should try the pastéis de nata in a place called pastéis de belém it’s basically better recipe of pastel de nata, it has a secret recipe that only the owners know and they’re the best pastéis de nata or in this case pastéis de belém
