To be honest, as a brown person that grew up in Singapore, I can attest to the fact that Chinese parents and Indian parents are very similar. 😊 They have very similar values, very family-oriented, driven by their cultural roots, very hardworking.

That was my experience. I was having surgery and my parents came down from India to look after me and my family. But then my in laws decided to visit too. It became very uncomfortable for me in particular as I hated to see my mother now having to cook and clean for two more adults. My mother has visited regularly as I have sisters who live here too and is very used to the appliances etc we have, whereas my mother in law was not. When both sets of parents were visiting we lived in a four bedroom house but even that seemed small. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it must be to squeeze everyone together in an apartment. That was my experience maybe yours is different.

Encourage both the old couples to speak in their own language and the two of you should do the translation. English is a foreign language for all the 4 old people, so encouraging them to speak in Haryanvi and Chinese (what do they speak, Cantonese or Mandarin?). Avi & Sandy should be translators 👍👏
I think food, culture and religion are the biggest challenges to overcome in transnational marriages. It is not race. Looks like they are getting along well.
