Maurice Octavius Kelly, 24, convicted felon of theft and felony firearms. He had a suspended license, was carrying a gun illegally, and had expired tags... among other things.
The mother flat out lied. She is trying to sue the department, saying that police killed her son. She said they performed a pit maneuver that caused him to crash under the truck. She also said that he didn't have a gun in the car despite the pictures of said gun in the car. She wants police to stop high-speed chases because she says they're dangerous.
Well, lady, they wouldn't be dangerous if drivers would follow the laws.
I, for one, am sick of people defending criminals and acting like police officers are the problem.

Agreed. I wasn't there, of course, but as an ex-EMT I noticed the partner not verbally clearing his side as they were speeding after the fool. Allows the driver to concentrate on his flank/forward. No foul; some find that distracting. TMI: also learned to specify threats and vectors vs the usual "Look out!" which could be anything! They have no fathers to teach them right from wrong or walk them through the consequences. So they learn from the streets, YT, games, or some Hollywood movie.
In order for the father to stay in their lives. They have to accept that they will be the first step of working a dead end job to put food on the table on the hopes that MAYBE, their children move forward. That's a 25 year investment that might not pan out. Most say "F that" and just do stupid stuff all their lives and run away from responsibility.
I was special. I was born not caring about sex or money. So I can build myself up. If it doesn't pan out. I simply have no children or sex. Something I am not bothered with.
I have to take home 150k for 15+ years in a southern state is what I need to have at least 3 children. My father was the one who drove in the stake and put the food on the table. I was the one to go to college and get a regular job where I don't have to work 20+ hours a day to stay afloat. My children will be the ones who either get a regular job or own a small business.

It would be fairly difficult, even in a blue state like Michigan, to obtain money from a lawsuit in this particular case. They had the information and couId have just caught him at home or his gf's pIace. How many peopIe get kiIIed in high speed chases over dumb things, that had nothing to do with them or anything they did ? There's a reason they are outlawed in many pIaces.
If you are pro Leo, is it worth their own famiIies Iosing them over ?
No one's Iives are worth chasing some one over some traffic infraction, which are non vioIent crimes that onIy raise funds for the state from peopIe who Iikely are having trouble keeping food on the table. AT Ieast the guy was coming from work, and they gotta hassle someone about a tag ? Those aren't God's Iaws, they're man's Iaws to raise money pIain and simple.
Much of the time ppI who have those traffic violations, just don't have the freaking money to pay for licensing fees, registration fees, inspection fees, etc. It's ridiculous how much they want from us and then their salaries are paid from tax doIIars.
