Take my word for this, people will dearly miss him after he retires and they’ll realise that this man shaped Formula 1 in special ways. Massive respect for him.
miss him by definitely not his fan base.
Definitely! He made f1 relevant to the masses!
@@philippederosierjr.2319 facts especially in America and African countries like Kenya and South Africa they got into f1 mostly because they heard of him from other celebs
Spot on
Nah lmao
Considering the hate and abuse this guy gets. All he is so soft spoken never swears or yells even to his team when they mess up. Appreciate the fans. Never perfect, but always striving to not only be a better driver, but a better human being! Looking forward to what more he will continue to archive! Still Rise Sir Lewis Hamilton!
You say he never yells but I'll always remember his "Oh no" in Malaysia 2016. I felt that.
He literally yells at Bono every race😂I get what you mean though
Calling a car “undrivable” is to mechanics what “not enjoyable to watch” is to a comedian.
That’s not just a “yell”, that’s the most fundamental insult imaginable. Especially considering he was driving the car while calling it “undriveable”.
It wasn’t about the message, it was about blaming others in unreasonable language. Even Sky analysts found it all a bit much.
That was merely one recent instance. But if you prefer to ignore those and believe in a myth, go right ahead. I used to do the same before realising I was only fooling myself.
Love this. Plain and simple. Max will never be a Lewis. This is what he lacks.
@@valkenburgert really? I mean seriously "the car is undrivable" is the best you came up with. See people like you just prove my point. People literally have to either make stuff or make these insane ridiculous claims as false equivalents of how lewis behaves compared to other drivers.
The car was undrivable because It was porposing, making it dangerous to drive. This was just a fact which the WHOLE TEAM agreed on. Not only that other teams and FIA agree that porposing is an issue that is dangerous they are implementing rules to stop it. But oh how dare lewis says a porposing car is undrivable. And that statement isn't even meant for mechanics. It was a design flaw not a mechanical one.
By the way most if not all drivers say this. Max says it all the time when his car is not performing as it should. Charles Sainz Alonso Russell recently said it. And there is nothing wrong with it they are simply stating what they feel about the car, and engineers and mechanics simply make it better. Thats it. So stop making a big deal out of a non issue here.
I know I am wasting my time trying to explain this because you made up your mind and will just come up with other stuff. Lewis is not perfect but he does not deserve the amount of hate and abuse he recives. Nobody deserves that hate and abuse. Nobody!
Lewis is a national treasure and a great role model. I hope he stays around to win an 8th title. Whether we have to wait another 1-3 seasons, it will be absolutely incredible when it happens.
Of course he is. Working for US propaganda for free lol.
Yes, Lewis is amazing! 8th will come, for sure!
The 8th title would be the icing, but he's already the GOAT. Statistically, he's the best to ever drive, and a man with conviction to boot.
We love you.. Lewis... My son watched you race since you started... Go well.. 😘💖
Well, yes.. You mean his 9th title? :P
Max Verstappen fan here, but with nothing but utter respect for this man. I rooted for him when he first came into f1, as well as when he was fighting Rosberg. It’s a shame there’s so much animosity between Lewis fans and Max fans after last year, they’re generational talents. I hope the true motorsports fans can appreciate both of these guys in years to come.
To be fair, those "fans" aren't really Max's fans. They are just anti-LH fans. Real fans of F1, or any sport rather, appreciate talent, well spoken and intelligent pioneers of sport. Those people are just living pathetic hateful and ignorant lives. No need to even acknowledge them. They aren't adding anything valuable to society.
@@stevePDx they are F1 hooligans like we see in football bringing the game in disrepute
@@stevePDx not absolutely fair to say that they aren’t Max’s fans. Max has a very commanding presence in the sport and inspires so many fans so to speak. But ya, it’s true that the newer guys discovering F1 are not respectful of the spirit of the sport, which is sad.
It's refreshing to read a positive comment like this. I'm in awe of all the drivers, in my view, Lewis is the best but Max is another huge talent. It's possible he could one day threaten Hamilton's records.
@@paulguitar100 I hope so too and I am Hamilton fan but F1 fan first.I do hope Max does not suffer same sabotage Lewis suffered. Records are there to breakand not to preserve legacy [of MS] as they claimed. We are seeing Max maturing infront of our eyes...

I hope you’re not disappointed about my last Race 🙂
Puts things into perspective when his worst season to date includes several podiums, which many drivers would consider an outstanding season.
To be fair Hamilton had the best cars in history and was capable of winning more championships with it but he didn’t
@melle , you’re just sour
Every driver has? Especially verstappen, Perez and Bottas in past years, Verstappen has only jsyt won it after quite a number of years however
@@mellevangils5350 I’ll agree that to be world champion you have to be with the right time at the right time because yes the better car will always have the highest chance to win. However to do so on a consistent basis. No mistakes race after race lap after lap to be world champion both once and multiple times
Lewis has one F1 championship he won while at McLaren and six Formula Mercedes Cup Championship.
The Formula Mercedes Cup was only for the Mercedes drivers with their dominant cars between the
years 2014 to 2020 as they had no competition other than their teammates and no team could compete
with Mercedes. Very much like the Toyota Le Mans wins with no other LMP Hybrid competition.
Way too many people overlook this fact, Mercedes basically bought their championship by outspending
all other teams. Why do you think they implemented budget caps. The driver who finished third
between those years was really the F1 championship winner.
People give him a lot of shit but Hamilton has always seemed pretty genuine. Even more so now that he is a veteran and the fact that he is always encouraging young drivers like Ocon, Lando, George, Gasly etc.
But shit for what though? He’s probably the nicest bloke in the sport!
@@the___truth8038 People just seemed to always undermine his driving ability because he was winning and was in a good car. They also think he just cares about PR because he does a lot of activism etc.
Most of the hate towards Hamilton comes from racists.
Even Max and Charles
Alonso hard racing with him-> dangerous driving.
Perez hard racing with him -> dangerous driving.
Max overtakes him -> this race is manipulated
Him telling the team to choose strategy for him which didn’t work out -> the strategy hasn’t been kind to me
Not mentioning the countless times he throws the team under the bus after losing the race…

People dislike him because he has fake personality
I hate Lewis for who he is, how he acts, the things he says. It's not influenced by the media at all.
He will never be forgiven for what he did at Silverstone last year.
And while he knows he was guilty of the accident, hence the penalty, he still won't apologize for it.
For absolute no reason he recently even claimed in the media that it was all Max his fault and that the other drivers are so much better.
The whole world knows this is complete and utter b.s.
The fact that he states this is pure toxic fuel for his fans.
He is sticking to his lies to not loose face in front of his fans.
This is something we saw with Donald Trump as well.
To quote him: "The more you repeat it, the more they believe it."
Lewis and Trump are both like 5 your old kids.
Imagine a 5 year old stealing candy and you catching them do it.
As soon as you confront them they will try to manipulate you by denying the truth.
The amount of length they will go to to defend their truth is sickening if you do this as a grown up.
This sort of manipulative behavior is part of several personality disorders.
Lewis definitely suffers of at least one of them.
Always playing the victim.
Always manipulative.
Always a hidden agenda.
And you guys swallow it all like cake and follow him like a cult and worship him like he is some sort of god.
No one questions anything. No one ever doubts him.

It's so absurd to me that I actually can't even believe this is happening.
Then again, I've seen teenage girls going absolute crazy over their favorite artist.
So I shouldn't be surprised with all of this.
I wish he was more like Max.
No double standards. Always completely honest.

The work he does of the track and change he is driving within the sport is unbelievable. Easy to give money for a children’s charity when you have billions. But the issues he is tackling and the way he goes about it is great. He is a good human being.
He set up the commission with his own 20 million and now they have released the programm to get the underprevileged kids/women in UK coming in to the sport.

support what's your name and where are you from? I hope you're not disappointed about my last Race in Singapore 🇸🇬.
I can’t stand the interviewer’s questions but Lewis handles everything with such calm, grace, and intelligence. He brings such a maturity and respectfulness to the sport and he’s doing his best to do good for the the sport + the world. I will forever be in love with his heart and in awe of his brain!
I love how he didn't lie in the first question, but rather the pause and the "it'll always be with me"... Mature
LH44 is indeed one of the best people to ever grace a sport - all genres included. He is such an inspiration and a perfect definition of RESILIENCE. I also must say great interview even to the interviewer. Asking relevant questions in a genuine manner.
For me it's nice to see him facing some adversity again. This feels like 2009 and I kinda like that. He's had some great battles because he's not been running away with it
This man is a legend! Humble as a person and the GOAT in F1. I'm neither British nor black but I sincerely admire this guy's achievements. Hats off!
To see such a champion take this so well shows his class and character. Look at Alonso what happened at McClaren it was a melt down. It takes a lot of character to handle this situation bravo Lewis I hope your in the sport for a few more yrs.
That’s not a good comparison McL let Alonso down for 4 years. Merc has supported Lewis in his best times, Lewis supporting them now seems fair.
Great job Steve and C4F1. Thanks for posting the full interview.
They're having this conversation sat amidst a field of the color purple. It's meaningful.

This is so inspirational, I miss him so much💜💜

I know I will realy miss him and not seeing him on the circuito I just can not immagine it . But when the time comes i wish Lewis the very very best in his future !!!
This guy is the best journalist. He is the only one who asks questions that are you dont know the answer to even before they are asked
So impressed with this man. Full respect.
Lewis is such a great role model and he will win this season. This man deserves everything that he has worked so hard for. Realizing the car isn’t the best and makes his car the test subject to project the car forward. Could’ve been selfish and forced it on George but he took it upon himself to find out the best setup and is now driving like his true self and getting the best result out of the car for the past couple weekends. Hopefully France is his chance to get on the top step.
Do you even hear what you are saying?
How does this all make sense to you?
Lewis wants to win.
Not because he wants to win, but because he want's to be seen as a winner.
This makes him feel secure and gives him the confidence that he can't find in himself.
Read up on psychology if you want to learn how these things work for some people.
Him being a guinea pig for test parts is because he want to be in control of the testing because he desperately wants to find something to make his car go faster and he doesn't believe Russel is up to the job. Being slow and losing to your teammate make you look like an average driver so it's also very convenient to pretend to be nobel.
So indeed very selfish of him.
So now that you have given it some thought, do you still believe he is a great role model and that he deserves everything? Or do you see the deceiving manipulative personality that he actually is?
What he says and what he does or think are 2 completely different things.
The interviewer is right though. W/ all the things that Mercedes has on hand and they still haven’t figured/ made that car faster? It’s understandable that LH doesn’t want to say it, but ain’t no way he isn’t thinking it. Hopefully they’ll get it together before he retires which will be sad. LH will def be missed when he does retire.
There are 9 teams that have all failed to build the fastest car!
That bitch aint Kimi, michael or senna that he will be missed
Different car chassis this year so the old methods of making the car faster won't necessarily work. The Mercedes engine doesn't seem as strong in the new car either since even Mclaren has fallen behind.
They are back
Basically what the reporters trying to ask you is how do you like that sweet sweet humble pie?
The questions we all wanted to ask. Could have dug a bit deeper with some of those answers and Lewis seems like he had more to say, but it’s possible he was asked not to ask for any more details .
Also, the airplane.
On the other hand, Lewis is a class act. This maturity vs who he was in 2007. Wow.
Hello fan thanks for your love and

Don't think I'll watch F1 after Sir LH leaves. It will be sooo different. But was awesome to see him on the podium at home ground last weekend!!
F1 will go back to the boring white boys club after he leaves. And that’s how the clown fans want it. I’m definitely not watching after he leaves.😴
I feel the same. F1 will be hard to watch once he leaves😥
*STILL I RISE*
We believe in you Sir Lewis 🏆
Great job Channel4, brilliant presenters and production crew. I wouldn’t be able to watch F1 without you.
Solid banter.

Thank you Lewis, you are an aspiration to many people....my brother who is in a small town in Africa is inspired by you. 💙💙💙
I am a great fan of Sir Lewis in everything he is doing. This was a fantastic interview. I'll always be a fan.
A great interview, well done Steve. Lewis deserves so much love and respect ❤
This guy ! Continues to impress .🤘🏼 “ It’s not always about winning “ 🏁
Lewis Hamilton is a great inspiration to all sorts of athletes. To the way he takes perspective on everything he does and his love for every aspect of the sport…..🙌
A solid interview. Thanks!
Love you Mr.Lewis. I am 49 years old, and because of you and your team, I started watched F1. Love!!!!!
I Believe that, at the present, the younger lads are HUNGRIER, (and hence more focused) for their first or second world championship, than Sir Lewis is for winning his Eight world championship. He is far more Talented than all of them . Even if he doesn't win it this year, if he goes back to basics, and remain absolutely Focused, he will win another World Championship or Two.....
What are you talking about? He hasnt won cause the car is shit, are you new here?
Crymilton is by no means the most talented.
@@michaeltrumph121 looks like you are the one crying😂😂😂.
14:55 he definitely wanted to say more, but he was being mindful of the setting. As an African-American, I can totally relate to his choice of language. Blacks in the UK, America, and elsewhere have to be careful in how we describe our struggles in public settings due to unfair repercussions. It's inspiring to see Lewis thrive despite these challenges.
Lewis is a remarkable human being. So is his father.
The GOAT. Consistent as can be. Yes he had the best car for a long time but let there be no doubt: He delivered time and time again, no matter the material.
One of the rawest talents that started racing karts relatively 'late' compared to other racers. Started winning rather soon nonetheless.
I hope he keeps his young spirit and raw will to succeed alive long enough to keep performing, because he still is performing incredibly well. Silverstone 2022 was a treat. He showed his usual raw speed yet measured approach to racing.
When everything is said and done. When all the current critics and hypetrain-writers have moved on to writing bits about the next controversial BS,
Lewis his mission remains sincere,
Lewis his achievements will stand.
Keep it up mate!
Thank you, sir Lewis!
He race with Schumacher along with Vettel and he had made great history in F1 and gives inspiration to next generation f1 racer. Even some of you guys might hate him but he just being himself introvert but people often misinterpret as a rude person, but he just don't bother to hater, that just his personality. He always tried to stay positive even he haven't win this year and always gives good example to young generation. Even he is a F1 racer he tried to tell everyone could always chase their passion regardless what people say.
Brilliant CH4 coverage and great presenters with charisma! Wish they could do all the GP’s live!!
With every new interview with this lovely human, I love it more and more....I learn more and more about him, about how he can be soooo strong ... I will always be on Lewis's side #forever👑💜💜💜

I’m a dutch diehard verstappen/f1 fan. And sometimes i ‘hate’ (not really) lewis so much.
But he is a great person and driver. What he has done for the sport and everything around it is great and sometimes underrated.

I love Lewis and he should keep up his hardwork proud of him love ❤️ him
When he retires he will get the recognition he deserves. The man is closing in on 200 podiums.... That is insane.

Lewis is a living legend in my opinion.. He is a brillant driver, and he's done so much for the sport - I really Hope to see him fighting for his 8 championship 🤞👍
Like him or hate him - One thing F1 will be 'dull' without him 🤔
This is the first time, I've felt little Lewis (age 7-10) and now more mature Lewis have the same outward appearance of calm, cool, and collected. Inside, there is a racing Lewis waiting to open up a can of whoop ass on his opponents. Taking no prisoners.
F1 is really going to feel that dent in their pockets when Lewis retires. Him and Danny. They will feel that hit. Love him though. So soft spoken...
Indeed his such an inspiration all round
