Great video of the checkout of the Uniden DECT2188-5 DECT 6 Corded/Cordless the Telephone with the 5 handsets & the infamous Digitan Answering Machine, the Jordan, which actually sounds just like the CEZAI2998 Base I still the have!
1xxx, 2xxx, and 3xxx series are separate model lines altogether it seems, so as the 1580 came out, so did the 3080. And as the 1680/1780 came out, so did the 3380 and 2280/2380. 29xx and 30xx are both Loud&Clears, with the higher number being newer. The 1480 probably came before the 1483. There was also the 40xx 1st-gen series, which offers about the same features as the TRU. It appears the higher the first digit, the more features the model has. 1780 was a 2012 model, with the 1880, 2013 model, being one of the last. They would’ve had to rework their model number scheme if they were to continue into 2015, as a 19xx series for 2014 would’ve been as high as they could go. I highly doubt this “running out of model numbers” issue is why they left the US, especially since they could’ve used the Australia/New Zealand model number scheme instead.
The handsets on this series are very sensitive screen wise. I have the 2185, and the handset 1’s screen shattered internally from a drop on the floor from a small height.
