I would recommend a couple of safety tips against burn in - hide your taskbar - hide your desktop icons - use a cycle of wallpapers, if animated, even better I got mine a couple of weeks ago and love it, never going back
Just got mine this weekend for $899. I love it! I was gaming on my 65” C1 in the living room where the tv is positioned above the fireplace. I wanted a desk experience where I could play eye level. Best purchase I’ve made this week
That hight is not healthy for your neck, the upper edge of the screen should be at eyes level so you do not need to look up. Believe me this is coming form a computer engineer who spent thousand of dollars at physiotherapy and orthopedists due to side effects of elongated neck strains.
Correction: the multi-view function DOES NOT support 2 HDMI devices, it will only allow you to do 1 HDMI + Screenshare. I’ve bought the C2 42 and everything has been good except for this stupid lack of 2 HDMI inputs for PIP/PBP.
I bought the C2 expecting that feature since it has multiview..... So just after i bought the C2 the C3 came out with the dual hdmi feature i wanted in the first place. Whats the point of saying something has something when in reality it has half the function of what it should have.
I just have a cheap 43 inch 4k TV that I use as a monitor, and it looks amazing. I can only imagine how good this one looks. They had them on for $299 so I gave it a try, and it's so bright, colorful, and sharp. Even at like 2 feet away you can't see the individual pixels. Like an iPhone. Just crisp. It gives you so much screen real estate and is like a breath of fresh air after getting home from work where I use a regular 27 inch LCD monitor. I just don't get people with their little dim laptop screens. I'll probably go blind or get puckered eyes, but the 4K TV looks sweet as a computer screen.
I used a 43" last year and it worked good. My work doesn't have the office space so my boss told me I'd be working from home for quite awhile so I decided to get a C1 48. The 43 was washed out in comparison and the blacks were more grey but the 43" did full chroma 4:4:4 so it displayed decent text but OLED really has it beat. If you plan to use it as a pc monitor it will work fine but if you have the budget I'd highly recommend a 42 or 48 oled.
I don’t know if you noticed at this point of owning the tv but make sure to assign hdmi 1 as a PC input I believe latency will go down to better help your experience using a pc with it
I have a question ! How did he connect the pc and the screen turned to windows? Does the pc do that? Or did he connect a laptop to the tv monitor then was able to see windows?
yes. I have an LG 43" TV as monitor going into 5 years now, doesn't feel big. The size feels like the minimum to get when you get past or get away from PC monitor sizes.
@@chrispotterfan Since it is LCD, no different than any LCD monitor. You just have to increase the Windows scaling so that text is not too small on a big TV. OLED TVs have problems with text like color fringing or less sharp due to the layout of OLED subpixels like the on the LG.
I’ve had mine for 3 months. The quality is amazing, but the size is just too big to be used comfortably on a desk. It kinda hurts my eyes and even makes me a little motion sick when playing fast-paced games. I’m considering replacing it with a 32” 4K OLED now.
I have the LG CX 48" as a pc monitor and i love it, you did a great review and after seeing this video i will try to get this LGC2 42" for this Christmas !
Neah, I had a 32 inch and moved to a 27 inch pc monitor. The 32 inch was simply too big for the distance from my eyes to the monitor. plus this one forces you to keep your head high, might hurt your neck.
Looks nice! But please, angle those speakers towards you or use stands to not have to squeeze them on the desk stand. First thing I notice in every post/video haha.
I was about to comment this and im so glad someone else at the top of the comment section did. As a composer/producer this is actually triggerworthy for me
Tips for those watching this video, don't do the same mistake as the video, use auto hide your start menu to prevent burn-in. Enable pixel shift, use dark mode on Windows, apps, browser and websites. Activate backgrounds that automatically are changing.
And probably don't put it up on a monitor riser. This is the only channel I've seen where the TV has not been close to the desk. All ergonomics guides say the top of the monitor should be at eye level and that's already hard with a 42" TV. Raising it up further is not going to help.
@@Jay-xq1dc I have to take back my comment. I just set up this monitor today and it was too low on my desk. The top of the TV was below my eye level. The stand on this TV is really low compared to normal monitors. I have it up on my old monitor riser now and I think it might be a touch too high but I'll try it out until I can find a happy medium. Something I have noticed about auto-hiding the taskbar - there is still a grey line in the lower left from the search box and the active app icon. So it doesn't hide the task bar fully. That could be troublesome.
Try hooking your MAC with a USBC to HDMI 2.1 Adapter. It will allow you to run at 120 hertz in 4k with your LG C2. I know that this video is 2 years old but I tried this with my LG OLED C4 and my M1 Mac and now it runs at 144 Hertz in 4k and 8k at 60 hertz. I hope this information helps. Let me know your thoughts. I know this information will also help a lot of people that use TV's as monitors.
I want to buy the new version of LG 42 C4, since I mostly do codes, is your eyes okay using it for long term? since I heard using OLED is more tiring than IPS panel type
yeah 42 is too small for a TV but too big for a traditional pc gaming monitor setup. I have a pretty big desk and tried using my 42 inch TV just to see and it was a not enjoyable at all. 32 is the sweet spot for most gamers I think.
Man I wish qd oleds were cheaper, then I could finally bite the bullet and buy one, the added inbuilt tv tuner and being such a chill benefit when im done studying or gaming, i can kick back and watch some sports or movies.
Great job with the video as always Andres! I always enjoy the aesthetic of your videos and the content you cover. keep up the great work and I will continue to support! 🫡
Your set up is f*ckn fantastic. I love everything you did here. I love the table, the look of your pc. the black painting on top. the monitor, keyboard and chair. 💯🔥🫡
Apparently, you're using Windows default DPI settings. At least on video, fonts and icons seemed too small. Did you try set DPI to 125 or 150? Or is it comfortable to use at default settings?
I bought a Samsung smart monitor 43” and I love it. I thought would be too big but now it seems the perfect size and my old 32” seems too small. I was wondering if this monitor goes to standby automatically when you turn off your computer like a pc monitor which is the case in my Samsung smart monitor.
@@Curimo This is true, but most LG TV's will auto shut off after a few minutes of no signal being detected. The only problem is that you have to manually turn them back on, but that's a fairly minor inconvenience.
How does this monitor deal with text? Is text clear? And how do you deal with burn in when you have a static task bar on the screen for hours at a time?
Andres on Windows have you gone to System -> Display and increased the scale? To be frank the display is too large for a main monitor for anything other than gaming
Question..Do you have to have any special hardware to connect monitors for both cable viewing and computer work? I am asking because I am seeking a remote job..

Perfect, I'll remember this!
Most. Modern panels don't burn in any more as the led isn't static it's constantly moving
That kind of helps, but things like the taskbar requires too much pixels, it can't be moved that much
