Thank you so much for watching this episode about Tone hunting. I have lots of fun playing the new AMPX on my current tour. I use the concerts to do field testing on the AMPX…
And of corse it’s also Tone hunting-but in practice: on stage!
As you can hear it’s getting there! But there’s still tons of things to fix and improve, but I am totally satisfied with the sound quality of AMPX.
I want to thank my „Tone nerd friends“ Gregor Hilfen, Udo Piepper Peter Weihe, Andreas Kloppmann ….
I hope you are inspired by all of us for your Tone Hunt 😊!!!
    Cheers, Thomas

That Les Paul of Udo is beautiful, and yours too Thomas. My thoughts on a great guitar tone, is that it is like a human voice. I have Strats Les Paul, tele, 335, Flying V,and I want them to sound different. They should sing sweetly and speak to the player.
I love low drive sounds, and over the last few years since using the amp1 I learned to use the volume on the guitar, and the vintage channel, and this is my tone 😊👍

I'm usually challenged when I listen to your tones via this yaptube alteration, I think your tones hunting is a superb pursuit via the guitar as the first singer perhaps, in my own personal experience I've found the entire signal and it's whole chain to be the better plan from a holistic approach as the individual axeman, a chain is only usually as strong as it's strongest or weakest link likewise.
I'm not much into the little various wedges beneath the bridge as I think the saddles and bridge itself is unable to accurately transmit to the wood considering all is departing from the metal and saddles initially, any micro-tonal difference could perhaps either be imaginary or tweaked externally via the pre or post amping stage if one insisted. - I love your passion no less brother!
I can accept there is a very certain stethoscopic aspect to the wood/building materials of an instrument as to whether its passive acoustic or electric only or a combination etc, but such slight variances can be fixed or sweetened usually by string gauge changes too I've discovered including the players touch.

      @BluGuitar  Месяц назад

A lot of things are no deal breakers and can be fixed with a good setup, strings… etc
I’m just trying to get some awareness to things. After you have more awareness, it’s much easier to fix/improve things.
And that can save a lot of money and time…

Michael.

As has been stated before: the BluBox has been discontinued due to non availability of crucial parts for it. Maybe BluGuitar can source again a limited stock of parts for another production batch. But it looks like after the launch of AmpX has been done, the BluBox might get a redesign. BlueBoX 2 or something 😊. So for now you can only try to find it used. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thomas i love ya but please take those dumb wedges out of that holy grail guitar lol. They make no difference and even if they did you know as soon as you go on stage that difference vanishes.

With all due respect, to me you sound like you’re asking me to take off my glasses 🤓 because in your opinion my eyes look worse or my face looks dumber with them on. But from my point of view everything becomes blurry when I take my glasses off! If those wedges work and make a difference for Thomas, who are you to judge? ☮️ At least you asked politely! 😊

If you can’t hear the difference, I doubt you have the ‘ ear’ that Thomas has. We all know he has fantastic ability to hear those differences. Perhaps there will be a mod that looks better in the future, but don’t tell others what to do if it works for them.
