- Wheeee!! It's that time of year....My BIGGEST and MOST EXCITING Haul of the year! My 2025 Hobonichi order did not disappoint. I got all the things this year. I'm so excited to share my 2025 Hobonichi haul and unboxing with you. Sit back and relax because this is another long one.

There’s something about Hobonichi this year, I think they didn’t mix up their blind gift packs properly because I have seen so many videos of people getting 4/5 of the same notebook design in a row, which is actually (if every cover design was equally produced and randomized properly) more statistically improbable than getting a variety.
That makes perfect sense! I was a little shocked that they were all the same. It made me wonder if they pulled them all from the same bin and they weren't mixed up. 🫣

Yes, agreed. It seems like almost everyone has received multiples of the same design. It's like they just grabbed the required number from one container with the same design in it rather than picking them from each different container or something.
I also got the same ivory HON, in the A6. The slash is supposed to be like the slash when you write a date (like 9/13) so it makes sense it doesn't cover the whole book! It's just a symbol. Although tbh if they had the botanical one again I probably would've bought that one. 😅
Yay!! I'm so glad to hear that someone else got the design as well. I was starting to think that I was the only one that got it. I would've loved the botanical also, but this is so chic and elegant as well. 🤍

There's a quiet elegance to the ivory slash Hon. I saw where someone painted a vase with the bottom of the slash, then she painted flowers above the slash. I'm not that creative. I ordered the Crescent Moon Delivery hon in A6 and the Spy x Family hon in A5. I can't wait for my box to arrive tomorrow!
Awww!! That sounds so lovely! I agree, it's such an elegant cover. Oh, you are going to love those designs! I was soooo torn on the Crescent Moon and the Spy x Family is so cute!!
I do agree with you about the Slash looking super chic! The ivory one a lot more than the navy, also. Personally, I don't think it's for me (if I were to get a HON, I'd definitely choose one of the busiest and most textured covers lol) but I'm always glad to see people getting that one :)
I have no issues with the slash design at all-just VERY SLIGHTLY annoyed to be using the navy on again for 2025. I’d wanted Ivory, but the site told me it was sold out. That was a problem. The system should have given us an error-it should not have conveyed information that wasn’t true. But it’s quite ok. Every time my cart got dumped I refilled it, but with one less thing. So I ordered like 8 things less than intended and this is not my year to order a Stappo! And in the end I was able to afford a Moterm A5+ and a Weeks cover, both of them in veg tanned leather.
I can’t believe you got all five same surprises. They sure didn’t mix them up. I got the same one.
I got the ivory Hon A5. I put cover on cover on it and I will add some stickers or something under the cover. I also really liked the Platimum White and Lemon Water. But I chose the unsodo weeks, to mix up my patterns a bit.
I did buy the Makino A5 cover because I had all the pencil boards and the Plain Notebooks from last year. So I am switching out one of my planners for that cover. Sad part is it cannot take a cover on cover. So it will be ruined quickly.
Oh my gosh.. yay!! I'm so glad someone else loves the design as well. I think I need to get a cover for it as well. It looks like any lil blemish will be super apparent on it. The Unsodo weeks is sooo pretty. I was definitely eyeing that one as well. 😅

I like the slash okay but think it is a bit plain. I do love how nice it looks with the botanical Hon and think it was a great choice!
I totally agree! Not sure why they didn't bring back the botanical collection since it was a fan favorite. Hoping they bring them back next year!

@@Bolderbon I think you should, it’s elegant! I ended up with the unsodo Weeks bc the history and the green color spoke to me but the Platinum was definitely calling my name!! I hope it’s around next year!! And the Hon you had for 2024 is the Weeks I have for 2024 bc it’s delightful and also elegant. So happy I jumped on that before it was gone!
Really happy to see your picks for 2025! It's nice to see some love for the Ivory Slash🤍 and I liked hearing your reasoning behind it, as continuation of the Botanical HON series. I was surprised that the Makino botanical series didn't make an appearance in this September launch but maybe it's coming Spring. Thanks for sharing your haul :)

Love the slash HON. Had a dark one this year. I love how they look, but I did not use it much. oo stiff.

I've got the A5 Ivory Slash HON for 2025 too! I'm not a fan of the navy one but I love the ivory one. I like the symbolism of the date slash for a planner cover too.
Gonna be brave and admit that I strongly dislike the slash. Either be solid or have a pattern. Its like they gave up part way IM SRY

Thank you so much for saying so! I'm surprised more people have commented about this. After my boyfriend didn't care for it..I tried searching for videos or reviews on it and didn't even find one other video. Which I found odd since it was introduced last year. The only thing I did find was on the Hobonichi Cousin forum where others also didn't care for the design. I do love it though, but will need to put a cover on it to protect it from getting any blemishes on it. 🤍🤍

I'm ok with it since I'll be gifting them to my niece's, and now they won't fight about whose is better, lol!! 🤣
