When I read the title, I was half expecting Sinestro to face Mogo... For those who don't know, in the comics Mogo is the actual Most Powerful Green Lantern of them all, but the Lantern Corps only summon him in desperate situations, because he's ridiculously destructive. Non because he's violent, mind you - Mogo is an absolute sweetheart - but because he just happens to be a PLANET. Yep, a living planet, with all that it entails... Mogo just entering another planet's orbit will literally destroy EVERYTHING due to his own gravity field, no ring use needed. He's a literal living apocalypse due to no fault of his own.
For those of us who remember the DC comics during the 70's, there were a series of stories that paired Green Lantern and Green Arrow. So the story within this movie appears to be paying homage to the Lantern and Arrow comic book team-ups.
I got a book that's a collection of green arrow/green lantern stories, it's got the comic of when they catch GA's sidekick roy doing heroin, right on the front cover, that was from the 70s crazy !
This movie did Hal Jordan a HUGE disservice. John Stewart is a really good lantern... but hardly the most powerful in the universe. It also did Sinestro wrong, and numerous other little things that should annoy a fan of the comics. For that matter, it even insulted Parallax. Poor guy went from the living embodiment of Fear to "an alien parasite" the size of a cat.
one thing i noticed was that they didnt believe John at first, despite the fact that Martian Manhunter can read minds and should be able to tell if John was lying or not
So.. they doubted Johns story, despite martian manhunter being one of the most powerful psychics in the justice league, and didn't bother to read his mind? What is this bs?
I enjoyed this movie to a point, but I really hate how dirty they did all the Green Lantern characters (the corps, the guardians, and the enemies)... As a Green Lantern story, Hal's betrayal and transformation into Parallax is legendary! But as an INTRODUCTION to Green Lantern, this sucked.

Sorry but NO John Stewart is not the most powerful green lantern. If you watch First Flight Hal Jordon was much more powerful than John Stewart has ever been, or ever will be. Also in Emerald Knights the entire green lantern corp was fighting one enemy, and even with all the lanterns they could not even push him back. Then Mogo showed up, and his power alone made the difference. I have watched beware my power and out of the three animated green lantern movies. It was the worse of the three. Military experience does not mean that you have a strong will. It's just like firefighters. A person can freeze after being trained on their first fire or their 50th fire. While a person off the street that has never been trained can run in to a burning building to save a child.
Batman used to have a Yellow Ring. It was destroyed by Power Ring because when he used it it didn't have much charge left. But he mainly used it to lure Sinestro there to fight Power Ring. This was during the Forever Evil storyline.
