Thanks for the recipe! Haven't had this dish in probably 10 years since my grandma made it. Making it tonight for my Portuguese family along with caldo verde.
@@zaphyra- hell yeah..it was an unforgetable night. I highly advice everyone to try visiting Portugal atleast once in their Lifetime... Thanks for asking
Thank you so much for this video. You made it less complicated but elegant. I'll be cooking this dish for my International Cuisine for a Mediterranean dish.
Everything is already cooked when you put it in the casserole dish. So basically you just need to warm it up. If the ingredients are already warm it should take about 20 minutes at 350°F if the ingredients are cold it’ll probably take about 30 minutes at 350°F
I would Google Portuguese market in your area. Also at times I have found them in Italian delicatessen’s. You can also purchase them online Portugalia market in Rhode Island portugaliamarketplace.com/collections/bacalhau-salted-codfish
can't go wrong with name Michael Santos , mines too nice touch with the pre cooking the potatoes in milk, didn't know about the cod too, was just going to throw that in the oven
Yes it should be fine. Buttermilk only difference from whole milk and that has a little more acid. It would be like squeezing half of a lemon into one cup of milk. This is because a lower pH makes the buttermilk more acidic. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 0 being the most acidic. Cow's milk has a pH of 6.7-6.9, compared with 4.4-4.8 for buttermilk.Good luck enjoy!
You can skip cooking it in oven because everything is already cooked that has been put inside the casserole. But if you made the dish a few hours advance it’s best to heat it up in the oven it also helps Merry some of the flavors. 🍻
