I'm always perplexed by people that won't consider moving to a lower cost of living area because where they are at is where the "good paying" jobs are. I mean if the difference in the cost of living gobbles up the difference in paychecks, then is that really a good paying job? I could earn 30% more by just moving to an area like DC, but the cost of living would eat all of that up and then some. I have friends that are DINKs living in a high cost of living area and their finances are tighter than my families where I'm a single earner and making less than just one of them. I get that depending on what you want to live around that expense can be worth it, there are always tradeoffs. It gets very tiring though to hear people complain about the cost of living without being willing to consider how they can change that.

I was born in a different part of Virginia, but lived in Arlington and Falls Church, VA (D.C. suburbs) from 2012 until 2023 when I moved to Mexico. In the more distant past I lived in D.C. and Arlington as well. When Alison said she misses crabs and Thai food I was like OMG, if she isn’t telling the truth!! Especially crabs. I guess parts of where we grew up will always be with us. Enjoying MX now though for many reasons, one being I have been able to not work for a year now and hopefully, if everything works out, won’t have to work unless I want to ever again. I had considered moving to a less expensive area when I lived in D.C. and although I’m doing fine financially, I do think about how much better I could be doing if I had cut that cost years ago.

@lilibethvilella It wasn't what I was looking for to raise my family but it might be a great place for someone else.

Interesting the narrative created….. vs what the program is geared toward. We know what that is “REALLY” about.

So good!! Until the unnecessary foul language in last 3 minutes. All that 💩 talk doesn’t add anything to the convo. Just leaves BAD TASTE in our mouths. Literally

And THIS ladies and gentlemen is why folks have to vet areas before moving. Just saying "OG" jokingly is 💩 talk and foul language. Some people are so closed off in an echo chamber that it's borderline inbreeding.

@@williamsmith3331Is THAT what this person is talking about?! I was sitting here wondering if they had cut part of the interview out because I didn’t remember hearing any foul language. When did OG become foul language? People are really strange.
