Mad max of super chargers, nice I don't care what anyone says the older tundras are still better then the new 2022 ,I have 2014 ,I bought it because those years look beefy like a big truck should look like .
We will see if we can find a stock Tacoma with a supercharger. Most install a supercharger to get more power for their heavy rig. Will make a video if we do though, for sure!
Magnuson supercharged my previous 4Runner TRD Offroad. I'm currently waiting for their new Tundra twin turbo system to be tweaked for my GX 550 lol. I love Magnuson! Excellent video! 😊
I feel like you guys didn't turn off traction control for both of the trucks cause when I saw big blue off the start it looked like something was stopping it from spinning a bit. This is just what I think but over all its a fun race.
I'd like to see that comparison on dyno and on stock trucks. Just for apples to apples. Might mention why you would choose one over the other? Is there a large price difference etc.
I was contemplating on which supercharger I wanted and after watching this video, I went with the Magnuson. Also, living in Cali, the Tune was in for the Magnuson and not the Harrop.
Why? The Harrop is a far superior supercharger, it's not even really close! The Harrop has 40% more displacement than the Magnuson, the Harrop has dual intercooler cores that are much denser and more efficient vs the Magnuson which has 1 which is very inefficient, and the Harrop has a much better intake runner design which keeps IATs significantly lower than the Magnuson.
@@KevinHuff23 Initially I was going to go with the harrop but because I live in Cali, there wasn’t a tune available that is Cali legal according to DMV an different installers here. So I went with the Magnuson. Oh well, can’t change now but can’t complain either. It does have the juice I like. Just now looking for higher rated tires for speed. The BFG are only rated for 105.
@@KevinHuff23 do all the upgrades on the Harrop even matter? You can't get colder than ambient and if the magnuson is able to keep ambient intake temperatures, does having dual intercooler cores really matter? And yeah the Harrop has more displacement but does it really matter because you probably need to upgrade your engine before you can utilize the supercharger to its max.
Well, it depends if you are driving it like a racecar or not. If you drive it normally it should give you about the same MPG. But most people that put on SC's will most likely floor it.
The weight is not a lot to make that much of a difference. They both make similar power. I have a gut feeling the Black Tundra launched in 4 high with traction control OFF. Look at the speed in which the FRONT tires spin VS the front tires in Big Blue.
I have to disagree with you regarding the weight difference. A 400lb weight handicap is a pretty considerable amount when comparing performance matrix. Not to mention, the Blue truck also had the camper sitting very high which increased its mass cutting through the air. Even if additional weight was uniform front/rear, that would only help with traction but would negate its speed compared to the lighter truck
Dude… put a proper exhaust on the blue truck… you’re shoving way too much CFM through a single 2.5” system. $8k supercharger, won’t buy a $600 exhaust?!
Mad max of super chargers, nice I don't care what anyone says the older tundras are still better then the new 2022 ,I have 2014 ,I bought it because those years look beefy like a big truck should look like .
I 2nd that 👍🏼💪🏼
By far they are better
Love my 2013 TRD Tundra
I just got a 2012 with 78k miles!
Same here I'll never get rid of my 2015.TRD with Magnuson.
Would love to see these two dyno comparisons
Would love to see a Tacoma race with a supercharger vs stock...just curious of the differences
We will see if we can find a stock Tacoma with a supercharger. Most install a supercharger to get more power for their heavy rig. Will make a video if we do though, for sure!
The armour on the blue is defeinitly the reason why. Weight was the difference here
Yeah, I was really hoping big blue would have won even with the extra weight and other variables but oh well. Thanks for for chiming in Andy and Culby
This is one of the best videos!
Thanks dude!
Nice!!
Thanks for the info!
I'm looking at the Magnuson.
Magnuson supercharged my previous 4Runner TRD Offroad. I'm currently waiting for their new Tundra twin turbo system to be tweaked for my GX 550 lol. I love Magnuson!
Excellent video! 😊
I wonder how a bone stock 5.7 tundra would do up against a supercharged one with all the overland mods/weight?
That was great! What about doing a roll on that will give a good HP comparison? This will really show on the big end.
Yeah, we should have made more with this video. We only had a few hours to do it but it was fun!
Is it possible that different brand tires have different quality rubber that can cause spin out?
The video that I've been waiting for!
Thanks for waiting!
Should revisit this with a third truck running a Whipple Supercharger. Run all three against a Gen3 with the twin turbos.
Was that the world famous Patricia starting the races?
The one and only! 😂
Fantastic job guys,
Now , can you put a 8000 lbs trailer behind and do the same test again ?
That is what I am really interested about it.
Thank you.
Definitely not lol
Can you link the black tundra? Would like to see the full build.
I know I'm late to this one, but maybe a rolling race would give Harrop the advantage
What gears are on both truck. Also is re-gearing necessary with a supercharger
I have a Magnuson supercharger on my 2021 Pro Tacoma installed by Westcott Designs and love the power. I also have a 6MT.
Ultimate setup there! How do you like it? I have been thinking about picking one up for my Pro with AT.
@@ShootingSportz 375 Horsepower is like driving a V-8.
@@zdiver1 Man that sounds fun! Was there a break-in period?
@@ShootingSportz nope.
What was the OTD cost for the setup???
What about gearing and posi units in these trucks? Need to add traction bars...

You could very well be right, I honestly don't remember if it was off or not but either way very fun!
Ok weight was different. Did they have the same gearing?
Yeah, same gearing. Weight was the big factor, I believe
I'd like to see that comparison on dyno and on stock trucks. Just for apples to apples.
Might mention why you would choose one over the other? Is there a large price difference etc.
Yeah, 1:1 race would have been amazing. Yeah, it was meant to be just a fun video but will include info like price next time
Need to do the sequoia 4x4 conversion to the full time 4x4 option.

@@ragu4545 Yes, the Harrop saw IATs that were on average 20f degrees cooler than the Magnuson.
California is GAY.
So big blue has more torque it’ heavy than the black one and it’s still spun the tires or the tires on blue blue are completely worn
Yeah, hard to way with having a true apple to apple comparison
Where to get magnums installed
Looks like nice weather nice day for a racing. Hey how do we see if we want anyting on your guys's fundraiser?
We have a live video on our IG page for the fundraiser giveaway. Our team also would contact you if you did win something.
Maybe more wind drag on blue? Should've removed the tent... thanks for the video! 🤙🏾
Yeah, lots of variables but I think big blue would have won with the same weight as the black
Over-landing rigs racing, gold. Lol way to make it hilarious.
😂 thanks dude!
I gotta 08 Tundra Magnuson id love to run against ya!
any chance you can share the offset for your wheels?
Wtf the stock white tundra beat both? Then wtf was the point if the supercharger
The point is you just made up all the power you lost by adding 12 thousand tons of weight to the truck 😂
@@Runnin4Tacos i don’t understand what ur saying
then your not that intelligent, you gain the power back from losing it , from adding the lift the 37in tires the steel bumpers the gear .@89turbomk3
And the third one w/ the Whipple SC is 🤔😉
What gearing are these trucks running? Factory? Or did they go to 4.88 or 5.29s?
The blue one was a bit heavier with the stuff on rhe truck bed and the steal bumber
Whats the mpg difference on stock vs SC

It’s called crappy driver 😂
Great trucks!!
Harrop Stage1 or Stage2?
Stage1
What was the gearing on the two trucks?
Both stock gearing
Did you ever think about putting them in 4wd to eliminate traction as a variable?
100%
anyone got sauce on the model?
Which one is more reliable?
Both are really reliable.

Alright...very nice Magnuson supercharger won the fun competition.
Now we need Ladies of R4T competition. 🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Yo... is girl in the purple hair single? If shim is can I get them digits?

Take them to a truck stop and weigh them
Rather than whine about a weight difference, why don't you take them to a scale?
Way too late now but good advice

We are working on our own exhaust for it but yeah you aren't wrong
I didn't get the drag bullshit..
Race 4hi to avoid spinning
That's too funny. Lol. Should have done afew roll race. The tundra with the harrop SC would have won afew races.
Yes, we totally should have! We planned it on short notice. I agree, big blue should have won several if the both trucks were the same weight and all.
Invalid. Not comparing apples to apples.
Goddam that flagger chick got me rolling
🤣🤣👍
Whee, first!
My dude! Always first!
I’m sorry but this was a really bad comparison and I love seeing boys wear dresses but the dude on here really really freaked me the f out!!
Haha it was just for fun, not a good comparison at all
Lmao! 👍
I believe the big blue , had rear tires spinning because LACK of torque not excessive torque.
What? How does that even remotely make sense?
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
I'll race both of your Tundras!! I have a SC Tacoma!! I'll smoke them too!!
How dare they ditch this generation!
Magnussen is the way to go
Leave the drag out of your videos and more people will watch them. And, no it's not funny.
Magnuson supercharger is better than harrop
Has anyone done a TT turbo kit if they make one and any idea what the make comparison to these superchargers????
