Both are great and both are the near opposite of each other. Can't go wrong either way, but do you need dry and punchy/polished (Pop punk) or Big, open, vintage and classic = (Classic Rock)
Besides the mix ready presets does the ezx have any other differences to the sdx. Great background. I want it just for that (already own the sdx version).
Hi! Yes, besides unique presets there is also new MIDI not included in the Legacy of Rock SDX. Another thing to add is that the drum MIDI in Classic Rock EZX is made to go hand in hand with the Bass MIDI in the Classic Rock EBX!
I think that the “secret” with the Vistalite John Bonham drum kit is that it was never used in the studio. That’s why it’s so iconic, simply because it was used on large arenas and thus that huge sound! I still love the product tho!
I'm pretty sure he used that for When the Levee breaks actually. I remember reading that they decided to record it there was because that kit was just delivered and assembled in the stairwell.
I’m new to Superior Drummer and own SD3. I know SD3 can play either SDX or EZX kits. Is this EZX a subset of the kits that would be in the Eddie Kramer SDX? Or are they different ones not available in the SDX?
Hi Fred, The EZX is derived from the same recording and instruments as the Legacy of Rock SDX. What you get in the EZX is new and unique presets made especially for the EZX, as well as new Drum MIDI not included in the Legacy of Rock SDX. Also worth mentioning is that the Classic Rock EZX drum MIDI and the Classic Rock EBX bass MIDI is recorded to go hand in hand, yet work on it's own of course.
