Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, etc... Singers who didn’t really know how to sing. I doubt the old school would consistent in turning out famous people who could sing. Chances are, compared to the guys I’ve listed, many of the singers people claim can’t sing, can singer better than a lot of the old school singers who weren’t very good. I would also add that, many people assume that certain today can’t sing because of their use of auto tune. A lot of people don’t know that they use auto tune for effect. A lot of those singers can sing. T-Pain, Britney Spears, and dew others I’ve heard without it. Similar to Peter Frampton using the talk box. Just adding effect.

Among the phenomenal events of history that occurred during my lifetime, one was to meet Luther in person prior to his blowing up. He was an incredibly kind man and with a genuine perersonality.
The others were the privilege to hear his voice, AND see him perform live.
He was truly removed from Earth far too soon. I miss his voice to my core.
Long live one of the purest and smoothest voices of all time.
    RIP brotha Luther

I only saw Luther perform live once when he was the lead singer of the group Change before he went solo back in 1980 at The Sports Arena in Los Angeles.
