Gryffindor feels like a castle tower full of warriors and knights. Ravenclaw feels like a cafe for intellectuals and artists. Slytherin feels like a cavern full of schemers 10 steps ahead of everyone else. Hufflepuff feels like a home, one full of laughter and life.
I agree. They all have their own characteristics and match the books quite well. My only criticism is that there aren't enough chairs and it looks like it has seating for 20 people when in reality the common room should have seating for at least 150 people when each house has roughly 250 people in it. It should look slightly cramped and definitely have some desks where you can do your homework. All of the common rooms look like gentleman's clubs rather than space for kids to learn. Apart from that it's quite good
@@Qam001 I think the common room has a bit of "magical pocket reality" situation going on where you enter the specific room for your year. that way they can fit 30-40 people per year and have them not cramped in one area. Which is why the entrance is magically accessed.

I think the development have simply overlooked this somewhat. Don't get me wrong, they've done a fantastic job so far but that small change irks me...as a fan I hoped they would try and stick as much as possible to the books, so much so that even in another 20 years the hogwarts model they have created doesn't need changing because its perfect. Ah well I guess not

34 year old man tearing up over here. I've been with the Harry Potter games since the very beginning on the PS1, and have so many special memories tied to each one. This looks like it's going to be the ultimate experience
Lol, I'm 44! I remember queuing up before midnight for the release of book 6 (I think? 6 or 7). My then girlfriend wanted to go, but I thought it would be stupid. Then my sister sent a super smug txt about how she had it pre orderd and was arriving in the morning. So that convinced me to get it first 🤣. Sent her a photo as soon as I got it with a "you never guess who dies???" added. Was actually a super cool night. No kids. Just us big kids. Loads of magicians and jugglers and fire eaters. Hot chocolate. Everybody chatted with strangers just because we all loved the books.
I’m sitting here in absolute awe. I watched all of the common room reveals and I had to save my house for last as I am a proud Gryffindor! These look outstanding! The attention to detail is unmatched. Cannot wait for this game!

Well if you saw ravenclaw room then you already knew what gryffindor was gonna look like bc they look the same. Tapestry everywhere over cold environments in different color. With books and educational objects and furniture scattered around . Hufflepuff actually looks earthy and Slytherin is underwater. They are truly the 2 STAND OUT THEMED ROOMS. I wouldn't choose gryffindor or ravenclaw if j.k. Rowling's life depended on it.
Just got sorted into Gryffindor by the official quiz, and I really like this common room. I don't have the nostalgia of the movies or books, but I love how knightly everything looks inside. The balcony is even shaped like the battlements on a castle wall with crenelations.
Wish they'd release this game for December. I could just imagine sitting in the Gryffindor common room in front of the open fire place at Christmas time.
@@Popcorn-ch7uy They likely had to find a balance between the book and movie versions with the Gryffindor common room. The movie adaptation is what most people automatically think of, and making it too different from the movie would be quite jarring I think.
You have to solve riddles that only Ravenclaws can solve, you have to know the secret Gryffindor code if you want to enter and surely other security systems I must've forgot because its been years since I read the books

They have to "tap the rythm of Helga Hufflepuff" on the barrel to get in. Fun fact: as a repellant to non-hufflepuffs, if you tap on the wrong barrel or tap the wrong melody, the barrel will burst and you'll be drenched in vinegar.
Love the stained glass windows and all that natural lighting, just a very cozy atmosphere. It's mostly stone and wood, gives it more of an antiquated feeling but still very sophisticated with all the classy decor, like a real fancy study in a castle, which is what it is, but it's not too much and not too little.
I just saw all four common rooms and got so emotional . I spent countless hours playing the first three games on my PC as a kid and back then I was amazed by the scale of Hogwarts and the countless secrets the developers hid back then This clearly carries the spirit of the PC versions . Somehow the PlayStation versions didn’t have that level of environmental depth as the PC versions for the first two games did I’m just so happy that this is being made - it warms my heart and makes me feel like a kid again
It cannot get more realistic lighting than this in a video game, some of the room lighting is so darn close to the real world!!! Man, can't wait to experience this myself and can't imagine what we can achieve in the next 10 years of gaming 🙏🙂 Hats off to the devs for the incredible detailing of Hogwarts and all in-game areas 👏👏
I've noticed that in today's videos! Each piece sounds somewhat appropriate to the house. Hufflepuff's sounds joyful like spring, whereas Gryffindor's is energetic like summer. Ravenclaw's is whimsical like autumn, and Slytherin's is a bit somber like winter.
I don't know how, but this is the perfect mix between Rowling's and Stuart Craig's (set designer) visions! Haven't even played the game, but I definitely prefer this version over the one shown in the movies.

Being a 32 year old grown ass man....i have absolutely no shame in admitting that I am probably gonna break my leg, get a long leave of absense and spend a month or two exploring Hogwarts..... Oh the memories of all the HP games....Especially the HP5 game where exploring the castle was more fun than the game in itself

I did notice the man coughing in the painting at 0:41 is the same man coughing in another painting at 0:48. But maybe he just jumped between frames to get more screen time? Main character vibes.
Even if the gameplay mechanics are terrible, combat is clunky, story is lackluster.... none of that will keep me from buying this game just to walk around and look at everything. Amazing detail and realization of our collective imagination!

I remember seeing Sorcerers Stone in theaters with my mom when I was 9 and every other movie. I was 18 when the last movie came out and it felt like losing a piece of my childhood. This world will always have a special place in my heart, also I used to hate reading so I credit the "Harry Potter" series for getting me into reading, after the first movie came out my mom and I would buy the books and read them before the movies released. Damn I wish I could relive all the movies and books again for the first time.

This game is set during the 1800s when there were probably fewer students than what we saw in the Harry Potter films which take place in the 1990s. They probably made the rooms bigger over time.
They nailed the look but it's feel empty..we cannot interact with other Griffindor unless it's a side missions and at night the whole room is empty..including the bedrooms

Ah yes, the revelancy of current haircuts in a game set in the 1800's... That actually hurt the atmosphere a lot, it's not just the black haircut but the haircuts of all the students that seems to come straight from the 21th century.

There are different humans working behind this stuff. There are writers, developers, animators, visual artists, musicians, voice actors and those who manage and organize everything, and so many more. None of them probably got anything to do with the rip-off collectors edition.

collector's edition is prepared by warner brothers, not the devs - the devs are just fans of the books, you won't be disappointed imo
There are different humans working behind this stuff. There are writers, developers, animators, visual artists, musicians, voice actors and those who manage and organize everything, and so many more. None of them probably got anything to do with the rip-off collectors edition.
