09:46 Can't wait to see what happens regarding the bacterias using terpenes as a communication method! By having a bunch of stress added in various ways, such as high temps and others, it would only make sense the bacterial diversity would increase as well! The more varied the microbes (bacteria in this case I believe according to the research paper and Lowenfels), the better the terps...aka, diversity wins yet again!
This would seem to completely keep in line with the current working theory that terps are from biological communication, bacteria namely. It also very, very easily explains why the terpenes would be so much better outdoors (and are consistently proven to be)! The exposure to all that other bacteria is likely what sets it over the top! What a time to be alive
16:35 5 weeks it typically takes, that's why I always pre-plant my covers at least a month before my medical *tomatoes*
I can't be the only one who thought the episode ended right when it was getting good!!! 🤣 Awesome episode

Living soil grows the best quality imo. I've been incorporating a lot of my homemade ferments into my regimen and since I started doing that I've noticed a fairly decent increase in not only the terpene profiles but the amount of trichomes as well. Organic is the way to go.

I've done synthetic, organic, amended soil, coco, various nute line...The main factor for quality terps & trichs is breeder genetics and a proper medium balance (ph, ppm). Without that the weed quality will be lacking. Salt buildup in the medium with synth nutes is an issue that needs to be monitored as well..

I am a connoisseur of sorts and you can definitely trust my judgment try it out for yourself. And also I found that the freezer keeps it the way it is unchanged completely. And completely preserves teps and freshness. And moisture content will not change at all frozen . Try it out

I had my stash in the freezer for over a year. I took some out and tried it after a few hours. It was still really good. Highly suggest it. Like storing frozen veggies.

Im glad your stash was still really good but i think youll find most people in the community dont like freezing their stash cause it kinda makes the trichomes fall off the flower but hey if it works for ya then more power to ya

How did you store it so it doesn’t get dry or crispy or like the other guy said the trichs just flake off soon as you open up a vacuum seal bag have you tried the fridge by chance as well?

On the freezer storage I leave the jars out til room temperature after I pull it out so that way it gets back to moisty. The smoke is phenomenal

I use biochar when I recycle my soil. When sits to ferment all the dead roots and leaves. Keeps the soil moist.

What great content and information she is putting out, sounds like we studied under the same teacher or teachers. A lot of the information she is putting out is the same information that I have put out so it's great to hear the confirmation from other people on the information that's being provided. Also I agree with her when it comes to plant succession and cannabis plants looking more for the bacterial dominant soil versus fungal dominant soil because if you really understand plant succession and where cannabis falls into it you would understand the soil bacterial fungal ratios as being bacterial dominant. Once again Chris great information this is one I believe I need to go back and watch the first video you did with her, I would recommend having her again!

As a data point, I just harvested (3) Fastbuds Banana Purple using DWC in a 2X4 tent. The smell of lemons was stronger than anything I ever bought. The reason I put this here is to debunk that you have to grow organic to get strong turpines. I do wonder if when we talk about turpines as increasing or decreasing as a group is wrong. Are certain turpines are increased while others are decreased based on how the plant is raised. When I look online, most the growers are in soil and the comments on this strain don’t mention a strong lemon smell with no gas at all, yet this was my experience.

100% agree -- IMO The reason people praise organics is because it's easier to grow decent herb in soil, so when they try hydro and fail, they switch to soil and do better they assume growing soil better than hydro. It's like na bro, you just failed at hydro 🤣

You can get woodchips and pile them up to start growing micro rizal fungi on your own. Keeping the woodchips moist and covered you will end up with a pretty healthy population within 6 months, sooner depending on your managment. You will see the white webbing running throughout the chips when its ready to start using.
Simply apply 2 or 3 inches as a mulch and you've just inoculated that area.
Just use the pile as a mother pile from that point.
Pretty easy to have ample supply.

Hello. Love these series of interviews - very informative and helpful. I'm just ramping up my 7th grow ever! I'm in a 2x4 tent, but last grow got 1.22 lbs of super buds. I grow in living soil and also have a worm bin!! :-) Watching from North Vancouver, Canada! Take care...Jules

@@ChrisBcards Hi Chris. I'm using an ES300v2 from Green Sunshine Co. I've been amazed with the results. It was a little more than others $ wise - but the grows on YT using it blew others away imo. Regards, Jules.
