I agree.. I have the same brakes on my E350 Sport Mercedes with the AMG package and the car will go 135mp to 150mp and the brakes are not good at all. I will do the same upgrade as soon as i can . Thanks for the information on the upgrade.
Breaking distance is unchanged. All modern brakes, the tinniest ones, have the power to easily lock the wheel. The abs system will apply just enough force to stop the car with both brake designs in the same distance. The mass of the car is the same and the tire grip is the same, there's no reason for the distance of breaking to get better. I do agree that at very high speeds, I can see how a larger brake and disc can impact that since there's more lag to slow down a fast spinning chunk of metal and the larger components and more friction area can make a difference, but even then in testing, the results weren't that big unless you're going 300kmph+
Agree and would add that the larger brakes and rotors come in to play for heat dispersion, but that only matters during racing. Commonly driven vehicles don't need the extra, but I can appreciate how people WANT that look. That's the nice thing about cars... totally unique to the owner's desires... form over function, or function over form... or simply "I have loads of money and want to pimp my ride." That's why I love cars.
You can install rear brakes too, you can use this rear calipers: From c63 w204, e55 w211, e63 w211, cls55 w219, cls63 w219 With w211 e53/63 brake disk, all will be bolt on Or you can use w212/w218 amg rear kit, but it will be little bit expensive

Aside from wheel clearance.. is there anyone that would make the bracket for the rotors to fit the 2019 c43 amg? Or would it be best to sell the two rotors and calipers and just go with a different setup?
I got a few rock chips on my CF brake caliper, the color is exactly like yourself. What kind of painting did you use? What is the color code? Thank you.
Hi. Great video. Your end result looks awesome. It has persuaded me to do mine. I have a 2011 c350cdi sport. Do you think the cls 550 and e550 calipers with e550 rotors will be a straight fitment. Thanks in advance. Awsome video.
@@TheT1r1what year is your 550? The 2012-2014 already comes with larger brakes from factory so it won’t be huge difference, not worth the money at least. Our brakes already have giant 360mm rotors, same rotor size on the AMG
You upgraded the rear from the small calipers to the larger 360mm for the rear ? And since the front is already the 360 do you have to change the front aswell ?
Thanks for the video this is exactly what I want to do since I bough the 400, the v6 with turbos were fast enough for me to have the fun but that OE brakes could not handle the heat after a few hard braking and start fading easily, notice the continental tires that you are using how is that comparing to the stock P Zero’s summer tire?
Hi awesome video! I have a 2019 c300 base non sport, non 4matic and I bought 2017 c43 calipers. What size rotors would I need? Also would it fit my stock rims. Thanks in advance
not possible. Rotor thickness is different between front and rear. Even if you would managed to slap caliper on rear axle there would not be any matching rotor to install. Other difference is rear has mounting threads integrated in rear axle and front caliper has threads within the caliper not steering knuckle. If that makes sense.
I have a 2014 Mercedes E350 Coupe and the front brakes are pretty bad. Was looking to upgrade stock calipers and rotors. What is best upgrade option? Stock ones warp easily. Was looking for some easy upgrade for larger rotors, pads and better calipers
@@tadwan1 I could see primer allowing it to stick better. As you saw, I didn't really use either, and it was fairly glossy. You can clear coat but sometimes it yellows over time. Also the name of the paint was VHT Burnt Copper
@ProjectAuto Mine is a CLS400, what brake lines are needed? You mentioned something about the length of the 4matic vs rwd being different. Btw I purchased everything you listed. But before I crack into it. Need to know about the brake line.
yes but you may need to change the brake line at the end as it might need to be longer. if it needs to be shorter however, and you have a long brake line, it will work fine
Nice work ... Could you give me information or exact code for the calipers color ? I would like make same color like this just i need the color code :)
If you are not pushing them to the limits all the time then it is not worth it. These will be more expensive to maintain and you'll need at least 19inch wheels or spacers with 18 to clear them. Additionally, if you get a flat, you won't be able to use a spare. So I'd say it's not worth it for most people.
@@ProjectAutoI believe the spares are designed to always be on the back axles. It’s even stated in manuals that you have to put normal wheel from rear to the front and then put the spare on the back. Also, the spares are only to get you couple miles to the tire shop and are not designed to fully replace your normal wheel.
If it’s w205, I don’t think that it has bolt-on solution to upgrade brakes. However, the w204 does have bolt-on upgrade, but I’ve driven c300 and can tell it’s not worth upgrading since it does have fairly good brakes for its size and power.
What about the C207 - e coupe 400 2015 production year. Are there the same brake configuration as in the cls or the w212 ? Could I do the exact same upgrade how you did? I have exact the same problem with fading and I changed the brake twice in the last couple of years. Thank you!
