Coldplay is just f*cking incredible , also I get why you didn’t adore Mylo Xyloto but come onnnn “Hurts like heaven” is a master piece , also Mylo Xyloto and Hurts like heaven are basically one song
Don't care about what people say I'm a huge coldplay fan never stop listening to them like the new coldplay but not the best but the best is the start of Coldplay
This is the best and most balanced review of the album I've seen so far...their bravest, most experimental and least commercial album in years and possibly even better than Viva la Vida...
I kinda get it now, Trouble in Town, Éko, When I need a Friend, Church...(when you think it as a love song), Arabesque are (literal) Everyday life days in a global scale...
Loved listening and watching your review. Been a Coldplay fan since the very beginning but kinda was less crazy about them after Viva. Everyday Life just blew me away! Like you I had the album 10 days before it was released and had listened to some of the songs but not in the album order. I did not like the album at all at first. But last Friday I watched the sunrise & sunset live shows on RUclips and I completely changed my mind, now I'm in love with this album and can't stop listening to it! Church and everyday life are my fave so far!
It’s a more mature CP album than I’ve been used to over the past decade. And you make a good point, many the songs don’t seem to function well on their own. I can go to 2-3 whenever I want, but the rest work so much better in a full album listen.
@@AlexHaitz +that girl Norah Shaqur (who sings the Arabic part in church) has an amazing voice. Could watch her telling the Bani Adam text in the RUclips sunset live version over and over again😍 oh man this is the album I was not expecting from Coldplay anymore! I would like to request for you to listen and give ur first impressions on Cause & Effect the brand new Keane album (released last Sept). Kinda depressing since it was written following Tim Rice-Oxley's divorce but man every track is amazing! This is a perfect album by a perfect band after a 7 years hiatus.
Surprised you didn't like Old Friends. I think that one has had to grow on me a bit but it's a really high end acoustic track for them. It kind of reminds me of a sadder version of We're Going to be Friends by The White Stripes. Great review though!
I love your style. The background music you have during your isolated commentary combined with your tone of voice is very cathartic to listen to and your reactions seem genuine and not overdone.
My main problem with ghost stories is that a sky full of stars feels really out of place but the rest is good, and I love the first 4 songs sooooo much.
I 100% agree with you about what u said - orphans when i listened before the album came out i was like “hmm this another happy pop rock coldplay song is not bad but there’s nothing new to it, arabesque is amazing tho” now hearing the album as a whole, i enjoy it much more cause it has its purpose. Its well placed.
I come from 2021. Coldplay has just released their album Music of the Spheres (yesterday, I think). I watched your review of it and now I'm watching this one...just...doing everything to stay away from that album. I didn't really love Everyday Life (i'd give it a 6.7/10 back then. But after Music of the Spheres, it has been bumped up to a 7.5 for me, lol.
Totally new here and your vid popped up onto my recommendations and I'm glad that happened. First off I totally connect with your thoughts when you said: ''I don't like when they do the techno drums thing'' or something along those lines. I wish they would do more natural sounds like in Don't Panic and A Rush of Blood to the Head, taking advantage of Johnny's and Will's natural ability to play the guitar and drums respectively in it's purest forms, Guy's bass is also always appreciated. Anyways, from this new album, my favorites are definitely Trouble in Town, Daddy and Champion of the World. I would have loved if Everyday Life had a riff ending like say Amsterdam or Clocks, but instead felt incomplete to me like it was going for a grand climax and then a quiet outro but it ended way too quick with no climax and just a quiet end which it isn't bad at all but wasn't what I was expecting. Good album overall (not mindblowing either) and a great improvement from A head Full of Dreams just like you noted. Great insights man! Hope Coldplay keeps releasing more artistic music and maybe, just maybe, some alternative rock in there in the future... _crossing fingers_
When I need a friend is absolutely amazing! I love the sunrise too. I heard 'when I need a friend' when I was feeling really low (very low) and it healed me! I feel that I have a coldplay song for every mood. The classical pieces and the whole feel of the album is soul connecting. Awesome job from my favourite band
"Eko", "Wotw/Potp", & "Old Friends" remind me a lot of the Viva demos. Here's a link to a playlist if you haven't heard : //ruclips.net/p/PLlN_yykn6qOghMsVPSQTLSmQ6Q5vBdYYS
That was a good review; I felt the same way about each song as you did. However, I feel the song Guns probably annoyed you somewhat more, which probably means you're a gun advocate... Which is ok. But you did well in providing room for Chris's right to have his views on the subject. I'm a veteran, so you know I'm very familiar with all kinds of weapons. I'm not against guns, but the issue with me, and I think with most gun control advocates, is the type of guns available for purchase by anyone. I dont think that you need an AK or an M240 or an M4A1 to go hunting deer or bears. Most people who buy those weapons, have never seen what it does to another person. I'm sure that if they did, as I have, they might feel the same way I do... And maybe then, this song would have a much deeper meaning and more powerful effect; just the way Coldplay intended to.
Rifles account for about 300 homicides a year. Blunt objects, hands and feet, and handguns all have higher death tolls. Handguns can reach upwards of 6,000 a year. Do you want handguns taken off of the market? They kill 1900% more people than all rifles do.
@@AlexHaitz in a sensible world, where logic rules, it would be better to not have guns available at all. Right? I mean, you have a better chance facing someone wielding a knife or just 2 fists. Agreed? But I'm not sure we will ever advance as an species to the point where we outgrow our need for violence. Therefore, I'm pragmatic; I know people will always want their guns. Fine. Ok. But in this imperfect scenario, lets take out the most murderous, damaging weapons. Would I want all guns banned? Again, in a perfect world, yes. Do I agree that just because rifles account for less than 300 kills a year (which by the way, its a lot higher than that, but let's not argue over mechanics) they shouldn't be banned? No. I don't. Have you ever seen what a head looks like after high powered rifle bullet goes through it? I have. You wont sleep for a week, you wont eat for double that. The original point I was trying to make is that while most gun advocates might be annoyed or angered by what they perceive as an attack to their 2nd amendment right to bear arms by another 'rocker', the song has a deeper, more subtle nuance to those who like me, understand weapons, and the risk for tragedy that they inherently pose to society. But please dont take any of what I'm saying as any type of anti gun feelings, but rather as an anti overkill perspective. BTW, Coldplay rocks!
Daddy is one of the most beautiful songs they have ever made. My Dad right now is dying from stage 4 cancer, and hes 6000 miles away from me and I am trying to get home. This song just cuts like a knife, but it's so gorgeous.
Agree 100% with your last minute of summing up, they are a better band than the last two "pop" albums, and this album shows it. I thoroughly enjoyed the album from stat to finish, was like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the honest review
Aiko is such a good song!! It's in the Live 2012 Movie, during Will's speech. Its such a moving song and brings a narrative to Mylo Xyloto. I agree that the best Coldplay albums are the one with a consistent narrative/aesthetic.
@@acsone3546 Nah, although Aiko and Eko sound similar. Aiko was an unreleased track from the Mylo Era. Heres a link to it ruclips.net/video/p_efKoRbwdc/видео.html
Many people to this day still think Aiko is an unreleased song, it's not, it's the bridge of Major Minus (the little instrumental section before thr climax) stripped down. Compare them back to back and you'll notice it.

"A refreshing change" summed this album up. Wonder if you still think that? Loved your review the first time I watched it in 2019. Now waiting for the new Coldplay album to come out which I think will be back to a more commercial vibe after "Higher Power" release . Anyway my point here is that I love this album more and more for its understatedness and for showing the range that Coldplay are able to do now. I'm not one of those who crave for the "old Coldplay" as we still have all of that to listen to anyway and after seeing them live in the" Head Full of Dreams " tour i can appreciate the "pop" stuff too as it so fits stadium concerts. But I do crave more of this "Everyday Life" Coldplay . Feels a more worldly , thought provoking message from a band who do have a lot to say without being too preachy about it. And I do hope people listen to this side of Coldplay
Congratulations on being a classical musician Do you have 8 albums and have been in the game for 25 years like Coldplay? If not don't say anything thanks
@@ticketnob633 For the record, I like Coldplay. In fact, I’ve arranged two of their ‘Ghost Stories’ songs for symphony orchestra for a group in Germany. I was only questioning the term “Pop Sensibility”, albeit, in a more light hearted tone then what you’re showing here. As Duke Ellington said: “If it sounds good, it is good.”
My favourite songs: CHURCH, TROUBLE IN TOWN, DADDY (very emotional song), WOTW/POTP (Chris Martin solo for the first time!!), ARABESQUE, GUNS, CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, "TITLE TRACK"
I love this album especially track no.2 church the part in Arabic where she says حرية يا الله it means freedom oh god i made a necklace for it because of how touching it is to me.
If someone can not do a better job than what this band has produced, they should not tear this band down. If you don't like it don't listen it. All of their album should not sound the same. It would be just plain laziness if all of their album content's were identical. I agree that Arabesque is the best song.
Been a fan since the very yellow start, after listening to the album,it wasn’t till watching the whole thing on top of that building in jordan the whole thing dropped in to place, amazing, I wish I was on that roof
My final ranking is 1. Parachutes 2. Everyday Life 3. Viva la Vida 4. Rush 5. AHFOD 6. Mylo 7. Ghost Stories 8. X&Y This is based on how much I listen to the songs in each album and how the songs go together in the album as a whole. Edit- the first 4 are really close and the last 4 are pretty close but there’s a gap
Hi, love the videos, as a Manchester lad it’s nice to see you go through most of manchester’s music (Joy Division, New Order, Smiths, Stone Roses) with a fresh pair of ears almost. Being from manny, it’s engrained into you to know stone roses, smiths, oasis etc. Also, not sure if you’ve already know it but Grace by Jeff Buckley would be an awesome first reaction video. Imo one of the best albums of all time and it only took me one listen to know it was a top album.
I'm not a massive form of A Head Full of Dreams or Ghost Stories, but feel that the critique of Mylo is a little unfair... I don't think it's that bad an album
Mylo Xyloto is a personal favorite but I get the hate. Like 4 songs were just, I need to skip like China(forgot its name). Besides that I truly enjoy it and the live concerts were AMAZING. Hurt like heaven will be a personal fav
MyloXyloto and AHFOD are Colorful, Ghost Stories is The atmosphere of the night, and Everyday life depicts a life that is currently many twists and turns, Coldplay really makes a surprise in every new album
Daddy gets to me every time .. have an ex who hardly lets me see my littles .. so it hits differently.. sounds like it should be on Ghost Stories .. which came out during my own divorce

Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach ) said about the performance of this girl: Really really exceptional! First things first... Accuracy check bro...Parachutes didn't "kind of happen" in 2007, it happened in 2000. They had two other albums out (if you don't count EPs) by 2007... You dove into Viva...so you skipped a Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y? Odd. "You're gay if you like Coldplay"...? What circle of people you hang out with...sheesh. Coldplay could get all of my money... Chris was "dismissed" for Viva La Vida. How did you not cry with Sunrise? Why is it "never a good sign"? Bro...you are SO obsessed with Viva...NOT every album is going to be VIVA. I was expecting more comments on "trouble in town." Broken "brakes" the continuation of the heartbeat. it "reaches" to the soul. Because of that, I would consider BrokEn more soul rather than gospel. I AGREE WITH 'O'!!! Very emotional and so is Daddy. If Daddy gets criticized, I think it would be more because of the political meaning behind it but I like it. Arabesque live is SOOOOOO good. Watch their live performances. I agree with your comments about the power and meaning of Orphans with the context. "Guns" is cool, not my track, but it's cool. "Orphans" is gold. That's it. Eko is chill. I agree with your comments. For Cry Cry Cry, they did sample. Correct, Señor. Old Friends just slows the story a bit...in my opinion. Again with the Viva stuff.....but I think it is an Alex C. piece... I disagree HEAVILY with your "oh no." Nothing wrong with "typical pop" songs. My ONLY problem with "Everyday Life" is the fact that the second verse is super short. This is NOT their best work since Viva. Not by a longshot. Sorry. Music is artistic....like in general. Well, that's it. That's basically my comments on your comments. Thanks for reading!
I meant that I got into them in 2007-8, and Parachutes “happened” in my life. As in I discovered it and it changed my life, not that it came out then. Parachutes and Viva were and are my two favorite CP albums, but I still enjoy Rush and X&Y. See my featurette in the description for more on those albums and the whole band in general.

Did coloratura made you cry !!? 😅
"Pop Sensibility"? What's so great about that? Keep in mind, I'm a classical musician. :)

I died when u said 'oh no'; we had the same reaction I thought something EXTRA AMAZING was going to beat through my ears 😁 but it's cool though.
The 6 interludes spell out ‘GOD=LOVE’ on the CD version.
Well, some of the songs from EVERYDAY LIFE were written/recorded yet during VIVA LA VIDA era/sessions
Hey you should review the live version filmed in Jordan!
I also feel like CHAMPION OF THE WORLDhas a little bit of U2 inspiration within, and TROUBLE IN TOWN has some Pink Floyd vibes into it
My favorite album of all-time is Ghost Stories. Midnight is my favorite song of all-time.
My final ranking is
1. Parachutes
2. Everyday Life
3. Viva la Vida
4. Rush
5. AHFOD
6. Mylo
7. Ghost Stories
8. X&Y
This is based on how much I listen to the songs in each album and how the songs go together in the album as a whole.
Edit- the first 4 are really close and the last 4 are pretty close but there’s a gap
I can see how you pair Parachutes and Everyday Life, both have some pretty good acoustic work that you won’t find in any other album
Are you listen Flags? What do you think about?
It's a decent track, may have preferred it over Orphans in the tracklisting. Lyrics are a bit schmaltzy but so are Orphans's.
Great reaction ! Subscribed
Nice review. Very accurate view of the album. Champion of the world is my favourite followed by orphans and cry cry cry. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😉
I have heard Grace, and it’s a stunning record. Lilac Wine and Last Goodbye are favorites.
you have a great knowledge of Coldplay (i hear them from 2001)! You are simple great!
I'm in LOVE with the album (didn't know it was leaked).
16:28 “this album is full of surprises” lmaoo
brokEn so odd, like why? Breaks up the heart break between Trouble in town and Daddy - which are both class
Chris Roche i agree. i like the song, but it should have been somewhere else on the track listing
I could be wrong, but I believe the "bells" interlude, may be signaling Muslim prayer time. I adore this album.
sounds like "Big Ben" in London to me
Trouble In Town, Church, Champion Of The World are my fav, but also Daddy, Orphans and Arabesque aren’t bad, the others.. nahh
Have you listened to Tortoise? If not, TNT and Millions now living will never die are excellent post rock albums to check out
I’ve listened to a couple tracks here and there but no full albums. I want to get back to them though.
My favorite album by Coldplay is X&Y
MyloXyloto and AHFOD are Colorful, Ghost Stories is The atmosphere of the night, and Everyday life depicts a life that is currently many twists and turns, Coldplay really makes a surprise in every new album
GREAT REVIEW :). What brand is your headphones ?

I love X & Y .. any other stuff from Coldplay really annoys me, kinda strange
when you have a right mood with each album, you will get it. Go back to those "annoying" album and see how it goes
You would really love Pink Floyd. I’m sure you already do lol
Y have a review about this to, i love this album, i think is one of my favorite ones.
You should check out the Live from Jordan performance of Every day Life
Thank you Man
Coldplay are fricking amazing they never disappoint what do you mean you wont spend money on them ?
I was immpressed with this album, I enjoyed it on first listen ,and it's such a chilled out sound 👍
WELL, I LOVE THIS WHOLE ALBUM
Nice video man thank you ;)
Daddy gets to me every time .. have an ex who hardly lets me see my littles .. so it hits differently.. sounds like it should be on Ghost Stories .. which came out during my own divorce
32:23 just like postcards from far away
Also, they predicted nowadays with this album I believe
Please make a reaction to a young, very popular singer in Russia and aboard. Videos from this singer collect hundreds of millions of views. This girl is now only 16 years old. She has a very unique, very deep, clear voice.
Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach ) said about the performance of this girl:
Really really exceptional! Even if you ignore her age, even is she was 10, 20, 30 years older, this is still a really exceptional performer here that we're seeing. But at her age, unbelievable. Really really exceptional! Absolutely gorgeous! And again, not just because of her voice, because her performing, watching how nuanced and engaging her performance is. Ah, it's just so stunning. It's absolutely amazing.

Here she is only 15 years old.
Track six (بنی ادم) it’s not Arabic it is Persian, it is actually a poem from Persian poet Saadi.🇮🇷❤️
arsham ghorbanikia it is also arabic :)
RamaGhabbour, just the title of it is Arabic language, not the meaning and the song and the meaning of the title by itself that is from poet Saadi.
Huh, there no bell interlude in the album I bought
Reno Cicchi the leaked version did have it
They are present on my CD
You should try THE WEDDING PRESENT, JAMES, SUEDE, MORRISSEY...
People mostly think the same way
Enjoyed your video!
Children of Adam is literally Kaleidoscope from AHFOD
Caden Williams Similar, but it’s not. It’s a song they’ve had for over 10 years
Caden Williams they played it in 2010! heres the link ruclips.net/video/PS-NYH8_Ce0/видео.html
Champion of the world is ❤
Churches and everyday life the best and daddy
Daddy is my best
take my like good sir
I was expecting more comments on "trouble in town."
Broken "brakes" the continuation of the heartbeat. it "reaches" to the soul.
Again with the Viva stuff.....but I think it is an Alex C. piece...
I disagree HEAVILY with your "oh no."
Nothing wrong with "typical pop" songs.
Loved Champion of the world
(...) And WHEN I NEED A FRIEND
Julee Cruise - Questions In a World of Blue
ÈKÓ is also pretty good
If you want to listen to great music check out Brave and Marbles by Marillion!!!!!
