Looks brilliant in my opinion. The level of production is 10/10.
It also looks like the producers have seen what worked and what didn't in season 1.

Whether people think it's a mess or not, a ton of effort has gone into this series. Amazon might not care about the show, but the crew definitely does. They obviously love creating their own story and exploring different possibilities. They only have the rights to LOTR, but they actually need Tolkien's other works. It's not their fault. This will never be as good as Peter Jackson's masterpieces, and we're probably never going to get anything as good as the original trilogy again, or at least not for a long time. That said, season 2 looks way better than the last and I'm really excited to see what happens.

I don't care about changes to the lore, black elves and dwarves etc. The Visuals, the Costumes and prosthectics are absolutely top notch. That alone makes the series worth watching for me

@@rockkhound943it's not epic that was the deal before season 1 even dropped Amazon came out and said that they're going to be in Middle Earth for five seasons and because of last year they asked and was given a 3-year extension on the deal for this show by the Tolkien estate. They stated that the entire series if you binged it would be like 50 some hours. I'm all for that because I want that. We also know that they have to end it either they're going to show the last alliance or they're going to lead up to the last alliance of elves and Men against sauron. That was the rule that was stated by the Tolkien estate themselves when the studios wanted to make this show. You can do whatever in the second age but you must end it with the last alliance

So it's a name of the Dunedain...Ranger of Ithilien in Third Age during Frodo's quest :)...a Gondorian name...for they are descendants of the Faithful Numenoreans and so using elvish languages and elvish names.....hah Troll having elvish name sounds weird hahah. Trolls in Third Age had common tongue names...the Westron names becuase that's the language they used. ('translated' for us so to speak)

I just can't understand why people will hate on this series OMG! This is a whole lot of work put into this. I have always been a big fan of Lord of the rings since my childhood days. This is even HUGE for me. Well done crew.
Because it is an awfull adaptation. Truly awfull.
Over his life, Tolkien created a world with its own races, languages, cultures, kingdoms, mythologies, mysticism, sorcery, superstitions, geopolitics, geography and even its own laws of physics. Almost a hundred years later someone is telling a story that takes place in that world, based on events that happened in it, adhering to how that world operates and how the stories have been depicted and told. They don't retell it exactly how it was told, but never stray too far from it, and more importantly make an honest effort to translate and stick close to the essential and philosophical themes that were present in the original texts.
If this isn't a *massive* success as a writer, I don't know what is. He literally created a mythos, and people are telling stories in his world almost a century later. This is proof of how impactful he and his work has been and will continue to be, not an insult of him. That's completely backwards.

Amazon is only using Tolkien for the audience he's already fostered, because their writers are so bad, they already have an established fan base and can just milk the idiots dry without developing any actual decent story...
Why would Amazon: "write the story Tolkiens never wrote" if they actually respected the man and his lifes work? Instead they just want to turn it into GOT or MARVEL... If Tolkien were alive today they would hate him for his faith and beliefs... I can promise you that!
The problem is...the show doesn't depict this richness of world of Tolkien...as it makes up bunch of s*t of it's own!!!! They alter too much...hell they cannot follow the basics of worldbuilding right!!!!!
1. Not your world and no one asked for you to do it. 2. They have never not even by accident been close to the original. INCLUDING BLACK DWARVES AND ELVES cause you dontt understand the reasoning of toliken.

I love this show and am excited for this season, not as a Silmarilian fan, but as a Tolkien fan. The stories and characters truly feel like they belong in the world of middle earth, but the accuracy to the source material isn’t great. Still a fun and well made show though.
This is everything the Silmarillion isn't. It's bad fan fiction and law destroying drivel.

you fell on the bait. 37% is a pretty standard completion rate for successful shows. Stranger Things, the biggest netflix show, had 43% completion rate on it's first season
