I remember the first time I heard this ( before it was released, cause I worked at the record company) I said Instantly this is gonna be a number 1, l've met the Westlife boys several times, and apart from being fantastic singers they are really nice people.

That performance was probably about a decade ago, Mark's voice is actually even better now.

I find the difference between Westlife and Backstreet Boys is Westlife can express the true emotions in their songs. It hits you right in the feels. And the lyrics are more personal.
Sorry but you cannot credit Westlife with 'personal' lyrcis. in fact you can't credit them with a single line they have ever sung. Every single song they have ever sung has been a cover, they are merely a singing group they do NOT write songs.
Actually Flying Without Wings isn’t a cover, I agree they do have many songs that are covers, but their most recent ones and some of the singles (ie flying without wings) aren’t covers. They have recently also been getting into writing their own songs, especially with their two most recent albums, not a single cover.
@@EnigmaTimGamingdude they have co-written a lot of songs on their last album and two on their 2nd most recent album spectrum. Just check the credentials and you’ll see the names “mark feehily” and “Shane filan” as writers. Even Nicky co-wrote the song “alive”. Check your facts

Anyone who does not know who Westlife is is missing a band that is one of a kind and does not happen very year. This song makes me complete in every sense of the word.
I just found Westlife this morning because I saw they did one of the first versions of "You Raise Me Up." To say I have goosebumps is an understatement ... this has been one of the very few songs that brought tears to my eyes, it was that beautiful!!
Great reaction Anton. Westlife's vocals is in another level. That sets them apart from other Boybands. Backstreet boys are good, too But in terms of vocals, charisma and nostalgia, Westlife is definitely on top. Plus, these guys are good looking and down to earth Markus Feehily is one of the best vocalist in the world..
Exactly!!! I mean seriously they aged like fine wine, has only gotten better vocalists with age and has super nice tracks. Nothing to dislike tbh
I am at a loss for words how they can sell out such large stadiums such as Wembley Stadium, but can't find a place to take them in for a concert in the USA. There is no comparision between Westlife and some of the boy and/or Girl bands. They have so much more to offer.
Ikr!! I mean I like for example one direction too but they don’t sing nearly as good as westlife yet they have gotten so much more fame in the US
Reason why they didn't break the US back then is because the radio stations block their songs & refuse to play them. They did them so wrong by blocking them coz they see them as a threat to their own, which is really sad. The music industry there is just so dark. And yes, they have a huge fanbase worldwide, even till this day. They've achieved massive success even without the US with sellout tours everywhere so there's no need for them actually. They're popular not only in Europe & Asia, even in South America, Europe, Africa, Australia.. etc. They're all incredibly talented with amazing vocals & harmonies, especially Shane & Mark who are hands down among the world's best vocalists in music history. They're total legends & so much more than just a boyband! ~ ❤❤❤
wow!!!! what a great song & a great performance...did not know that these guys had been around for 25+years...NOT ur typical boy band for sure...they have this special ambience and charisma in a great way. They're just DAMN GOOD!!!
They have some amazing songs. The original of this song, Soledad, You raise me up, Beautiful world, Drive, My love, Queen of my heart... The list goes on 👌

I went to see Westlife before they were Westlife lol they were westside at first.
I walked down the isle to this song, both my children were born to Westlife music.
They have seen me through my teens and emotional times in my life, seen them 17 times live and they never disappoint live at all.

Yes! Westlife 🙌❤️! Although I started as a BSB fan (I still love them), Westlife has definitely definitely become my favourite group. Not only they can harmonise and have incredible voices, but they are also hilarious in interviews and they have the best energy on stage. I haven’t had the chance to see them live yet (they came to my country only once when I was a kid) but one of the items on my bucket list is going to one of their shows. You should listen to the 2019/2023 versions with Mark even expanding the ending.. I've loved this band since their beginning and the growth of all their voices is beautiful.. Another one Mark does is Angels Wings but only as a very young Mark.. Goosebumps really happen, l would like to hear him do it today.. 🐦
I absolutely love Westlife, I have from the very beginning and this song is probably my favourite of them all. I have said since it’s release that I want it played in my funeral and over 20 years later I still get goosebumps when I listen to it! They are the kings of ballads but their pop stuff is awesome too. Thank you for loving Westlife as much as us long time fans ❤️ xx

Mark’s voice is insane, like it’s one of those voices that hits me right in the soul. He has such amazing technique, timbre and power. He masters his voice so well and has been gifted with such a unique and soulful voice. God I love him so much
I agree with you. Backstreet Boys and Westlife are my all time faves. Back in the day they were like the European version of BSB, fighting for supremacy in Europe and Asia, in a good way of course. They have a recent collab singing I Want it That Way & My Love together. I'm sure you'll love it.
Loved Westlife since 1998! So amazing to see you appreciate them so much. This is by far the best version of this song, it's definitively spiritual, a true masterpiece. Mark is a very talented singer too, they all are, the harmonies are always the best with Westlife. NSYNC and to a certain extent Backstreet Boys were boy bands tailored to the US market, whereas Westlife maybe being from Europe were not concentrated on their music and singing and not their image and sex appeal (and dance moves) that always seems to be a main driver behind US boybands. Don't get me wrong members of US boybands can sing, but if their singing isn't that amazing they make it up with their looks or dance moves. All the members of Westlife can sing, and the harmonies as well as the main vocals are what make Westlife so special.
As for my favourite Westlife song, I know they are both covers but I love You Raise Me Up and The Dance (in fact their whole Love Album, which are all covers, is amazing). They have a duet with Australian singer Delta Goodrem of the Air Supply song I'm All Outta Love that is just stunning. Can't remember if you've done any Delta Goodrem, but if not please do.
Actually I think westlife has better looks than both Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. Tho you’re absolutely right about the singing part

My boys! Been a fan since 1998! You should see if you can find when BSB and Westlife duetted each others songs. They all sang I Want It That Way by BSB and My Love by Westlife since you love both of them.

Just to let you know, Mark and none of the lads have classical training.. Mark, Kian and Shane have sung together since they were 17 - 19 at school.. Watch any later tours to see how much Mark has stretched FWW.. They are still number one for hitting the heart with their music.. 💝🐦

I plan to become more so, though. :)
Nsync have two outstanding singers - JC and Justin and then Mark from Westlife…. But Westlife and BSB have better songs. Westlife are the kings of ballads but BSB are the ultimate and most dynamic boyband. Mark had really developed his voice - on their first tour he stood out and not always in a good way. He just had to master and develop his talent - he is superb
