Mike Shinoda is a hardcore gamer (Valorant), Dan Reynolds plays a tone of actual LOL (I hope he is better at LOL than Shinoda at Valorant). So I guess these collaborations are more down to band frontman/member’s personal connection with gaming. That said, Riot is certainly willing to throw top money at top musicians and things do happen (pretty sure Sting isn’t a gamer).
