Hopefully, someone can talk about that. I know there are lots of fiction books on the platforms, so there are fiction publishers using them as well for sure.
Oh my goodness. That's an eye-opener. I have written 20 books and hardly any of them have any reviews. I was sitting around waiting for readers to do so. Now I know why! Thanks Emeka.
I watched your video yesterday of how to make a book for free, and it was so full of knowledge i was hoping you might have a video about reviews. Then today you upload this haha im so happy God bless you
Okay I am sorry but I can't let this pass. It is an absolutely terrible idea to leave a fake review. The only thing amazon cares about is the customer experience (yes and making money). Leaving a fake review might be nice for the publisher, but it is absolutely terrible for the customer. Just leave an honest review of a few lines - it looks so much more authentic in so many ways! Even if it is just "This was really interesting content. I thought it was well thought out." etc. Please, we need to be spreading more intergrity in this business!
“A good book” is still a “fake” review. So your other option is to just not leave anything or to read the whole book and leave one. Either way this is exactly what is happening. That is why reviewing book you are familiar with allows you to leave reviews that are relevant to the end user. Doing those basic exercises will in fact reduce arthritis pain in elderly users. That is a fact. Creating a story around how that happens isn’t hurting a customer looking to buy the book it’s giving them the motivation they need. Now saying this book completely healed or something else without knowing that is actually possible, that is no good, I agree. This so why I said, I only choose books that I am familiar with the topic on so I can write a review that will be relatable to the end users. Not some bogus claim.
Yes I agree with choosing books you have familiarity with to be able to give a legit review. You have experience in this space so you can give a legit review from your own pov. You don’t have to make up fiction about a 72 year old who has done the exercises. It is just wrong. I am not saying you have to read the whole book - you can spend 5-10 minutes with a book and then have something real to say about it. If you get down to it what matters is the average rating score and the number of reviews. You can give 4 or 5 stars and a simple review and be in compliance with everyone. You are not doing the publisher any favors by leaving fake positive reviews. They will get the blame for it if it comes to light.
I placed the second book in my series on Book-Bounty last week, but it has not attracted any reviewers: “Contending with Paul 2: What Paul’s Letters Tell Us About Their Author(s) - And Why We Should Listen.” Currently listed as a $2.99 Verified Review. It is probably in the “Help A Hunter” section by now. The bounty was just increased yesterday. This is my first time using Book-Bounty. How long should I give it before deciding if Book-Bounty is the right fit for my books?
I'm working on a book that I'm going to put out probably in 2 months. Can I join book bounty now and build up credits so that when I publish I have the credits? Or is it better to wait and do both at the same time?.
So, I watched this video several times and missed it, but I could not figure out the strategy. If I register for book bounty, do I leave my own review? My apologies; I totally missed the strategy?
Hi Nicole, so you upload your book. Then you select other books to read and review. After you do that you will earn points from it. Use those points to get your book on the marketplace so someone can read and review yours. Make sense?
Hello Emeka. Thank you for taking the time and energy posting this video. I found helpful tips from your video. However, unless you have saved enough points equal to do 100 reviews previous to launching a book, it’s impossible to get 100 reviews in 45 days. Sometimes there are circumstances where you are not able to save up ahead of time prior to launch. Is there some other way to achieve the 100 reviews in 45 days?
Does this work for medium content books as well like puzzle books? Because I believe kindle unlimited is only for high content books? What is the process like for medium content books that are not enrolled in KDP Select? I am new to all this. I hope it makes sense.
@@selfpublishingprofits Okay, Thank you. I am new to Amazon KDP. So I am just getting to know the process of uploading, keyword research, running ads. Hence why I started with Medium Content Book. I also don't have a job atm, So once I have a bit more budget, I would like to switch to High content Nonfiction books.
I’m not sure which plan to start with. I want to join before my book is ready to launch and start racking up points for the book launch that I’m hoping will be in two months. It looks like if you sign up with the five dollar a month plan you can still do that but the other plans offer massive amounts of points after you leave your first review and the small basic plan doesn’t. Should I sign up with the basic plan and just rack up points that way or are the free points they give worth paying the extra money even though I don’t have a book yet for anyone to review? Not sure what I should do. Also how many points do you get for reviewing a book?
i live in country where amazon not shiped to it , can i use book bountry to make review for my paperback book , and get reviews , and how review others paperback books ?
I'm new. Last night I "lost" somewhere in my laptop - my e book. Its nice to see you actually showing us HOW do navigate this nightmare. Maybe this is not for me?😢
Thank you so much, in my case i do only 'coloring books', so the other reviewer MUST buy my paperback version ( NO ebook ), did you tried this ? And other question : Did these review websites allow the user the BUY points and spend them to viewer ( without leaving reviews from his side) I appreciate if you answer me for my both questions. Thank you again.
Hey Emeka. Thanks for this awesome video. Can you also make a video on how to protect KDP account and Kdp ads account from getting suspended? What things to care about? If you can mentioned the points here, it would mean a lot.
1. publish high content books, not low or med. 2. publish quality books, ensure you have no grammar errors. 3. Use white pen names for your books 4. Make sure you are not taking any shortcuts at all. That is what I would do if I lived in third-world countries and was publishing on Amazon.
At the end of the video, you mentioned the guy from Germany, who was shipping books to his customers as a means of getting reviews. How would that work exactly? To get a verified review on a physical book doesn’t the customer have to purchase it through Amazon?
how do i leave review if i cannot download the ebook from amazon because it says my location is not same, I live in south asia. i tried to contact amazon help center but i can't even get to anyone it like no ones is on live chat. i used to be able download ebook then suddenly now unable to do it and cannot rectify the issue with amazon. can I still use service like all this pubby if i cannot download their ebbok? can i leave review without download it?
You can tell a book is no good really quick man. While skimming through I am looking for things that stand out so I am 'reading' a bit of it and it doesn't take long to determine if the person put a lot or no effort into the book when they created it.
Is there a way to get your review ability Reinstated? I was blocked from leaving reviews a few years ago because I left too many reviews of purchases that I actually made on amazon. I've tried to reply to their emails repeatedly. And I've tried to contact them, but haven't ever heard back anything from them. Thank you
If i am publishing medium content book, how can i ensure to get verified review? I mean how low can i even price my book for reviewer to purchase it to review it.
Can you use a site that has users purchase the books, Book Blaze, I think is one, and you make your price the lowest Amazon lets you sell it. OR a better idea is not to publish med content books and publish high conent ones instead :)
100 reviews in 45 days is not possible on these sites, they limit you to ONLY being able to review 6 a week on book bounty thus when putting your own book up for review you can only get a max of 4-5 a week max from the bounty you have accumilated which mean 20 reviews a month. For Get books its limited to 6 in the trial period ( cant say if it changes beyond the trial period) and thus this would mean 3-4 in the first 2 weeks (approx 6-8 amonth) there is no way on earth you can get 100 in 45 days woithout signing up for ALL the book review sites and doing them all and even then you wouldnt reach 100 in 45 days

Try offering it as a KU bounty as well, using different ones can help speed things up. For pricing I have found its either $4.99 or .99 that get chosen the fastest.

Sounds like the bounty was too low initially
The less reviews you have the easier it is for your comp to kill your book with a bad review Great vid boss 👍😎
That is such a great point. Glad you enjoyed it!

Use all 3 platforms and yes plan out your book launch. Don't launch until you have enough points.
@ Which 3 platforms are you specifically referring to? And which ones do you use?
Does this work for medium content books as well like puzzle books? Because I believe kindle unlimited is only for high content books? What is the process like for medium content books that are not enrolled in KDP Select? I am new to all this. I hope it makes sense.

You can get unverified reviews fine from book bounty.

Yes, you just review and get reviews on your ebook.
@selfpublishingprofits its not ebookk its paperback
So make an ebook and get reviews. You should have all available options.
@selfpublishingprofits bro i ask about paperback ?
The reviews you get on your ebook will show up on your paperback. That’s what I mean.

You can use them for colorings book, you just dont get verified reviews.
No you can't buy points. That would be crossing the line.

Kevin at Book Bounty is fabulous!!!! Thanks for this great walk-through, Emeka. ;-)
I agree. He’s done a great job!
What about if you use multiple sites and authors accidentally review each others book? Would that cause a problem?
The mathematically probability of that happening is too low.

There is a way, I unfortunately dont remember the exact process. Reach out to book bounty support, they might be able to help explain it.
Does Book Bounty accept coloring books and game activity books?
As I said in the video, yes :)
asked book Bounty. They accept those books.
@ yes they do
Do you notice a spike in sales after 20 reviews or so? ... granted it the book is starting to sell and it's a good book.
50 to 100 reviews for most niches, 20 is too low.
If we are just skipping the book, how do we come to the conclusion that a book is trash to leave a review to get the author to improve
You can tell a book is no good really quick man. While skimming through I am looking for things that stand out so I am 'reading' a bit of it and it doesn't take long to determine if the person put a lot or no effort into the book when they created it.
When is this from? Why are you saying you’re trying to hit 100 subs at the end?
100K subs. Not 100

how do I know.. if I upload to book bounty is there any possibility the book will be stolen?
cause that would kill their reputation. Personally I wouldn't worry about stuff like this, it only slows down your success.
I’ve seen people put “water marks” on their copies before uploading it to the book review site.
can you create a facebook reading club and get a regular review group going, but I don't know if that is incentivised reviews
That’s walking the line. Depends on how it’s set up
Should you use your author account for this? High risk of being banned.
Author account? No, just use an Amazon shopping account. Zero risk of being banned if you don't abuse it.

Yes it is. You are just using them wrong. I’ll show you this in a future video
@@selfpublishingprofits Thanks Emeka. I am trying very hard to follow your guides.
"No one is reading cover to cover" might just be the difference between fiction and nonfiction...
I don't like that. Feeding into the system of fake reviews.
Only review books that you can relate to so you are leaving reviews that you can relate to.
It's a paid site, nothing is free to get reviews.
Who said anything about free?
If you think this "very fast customer service" was not a bot you should stop teaching ppl lol 😂
