nothing against the actress who plays ashton but erica gimpel is stunning and beautiful. all the more so because she plays a character with such strength courage and compassion for others. still is
God bless southern women in general. Personally though, God bless the women of South Carolina! They are as beautiful and dangerous! On the battlefields of the Civil War the Southern men fought with muskets, rifles, pistols, swords, daggers and tomahawks. Our Southern women on the other hand... used their southern hospitality, beauty, wit and charm to fight the war in another way. When the city of Charleston was captured by the Union during the war, many of the hospitable Southern belles would invite Union soldiers over to their homes to make tea for them. Oleander tea in the bellys of thirsty yankee soldiers always makes me smile when you know the fate of those yankee soldiers after they drank the tea. 🍵 ☢ Revenge comes in a glass of sweet oleander tea!
Having “The Charleston Obsession”, as I was told when visiting once, I’m very glad of one thing. Sherman had been posted in Charleston early in his career, and he loved the city. The Yankees did plenty of damage but he wouldn’t order the city destroyed. When I visited Richmond it was sad to know that it was ravaged by the Yankees under Sherman’s orders. Considering his “March across Georgia” I can’t believe Savannah was able to keep so many beautiful buildings, and stately homes.
One of the best mini series ... never get tired of watching it!!
ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER PRODUCED
I love Genie's hair, I love braided hair.
I liked the way Clarissa was here in the mini series compared to the book. She is so strong and full of spirit.
Good Lord almighty, what a dress Ashton has on!!
What a horrible colour! I can't bear to look at it.
@@ib7132 I liked it

All it reminds me 'Gone with the wind'
They were set in the same era!
Jean Simmons is the BEST!
This is a wonderful clip we could use a few more with Madaline just love her.
You need to watch all the series. She had a baby boy ... Orry Jr.
Lesley Anne Down 🥰
I’m glad Madeline had time to be with Clarissa b/c she had never had a mother. At least she got to have a mother for a little while.

Love this mini series. Thanx for posting. Do you have the scene where Orry comes for Madelaine and takes her back
" MAMA HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW HONEY !! "
You're welcome. I should put up some of "Heaven and Hell" sometime, though it wasn't very popular among many fans.
It's awful. Stay away from it.
Were there ANY women in this who were not gorgeous? :D
True - all the women were gorgeous but so were most of the men. Filling the roles with beautiful people made this series a pleasure to watch.

Yes, such strength (southern women), like Corretta Scott King, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks! They were indeed beautiful and brave🥰
