I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software multiple times. The monitor has power, it just cannot seem to connect to the software. The SD card is inserted... any advice?
Perhaps try a different USB cable (make sure it´s data, not just for charging), different USB port. You can also try installing the drivers, they are packed together with the software.
Sorta makes me wonder if they abandoned the software for 3.5 model considering how scuffed it is. Parts of it still in Chinese, windows not resizeable leading to buttons being cut off, etc... Do you know anything about doing themes on those ones? Some of it would be serviceable, but it only lets you change colors on numbers, not text that seems to be locked.
I would not think of it as "abandoned". I would rather say that this was their first display / first software, and they just gradually improved with every newer display / software version. If you don´t like the software and still want to use the small 3.5 display, someone has developed Python scripts to drive those displays. That might be an option - plus it works on all OSes. Link should be in the description, and I hope to try those soon.
@@upir_upir Yeah, I got the python one running, but its a bit of a pain to do, and you need a whole different package/program to be able to do theme stuff. I didn't feel old until I tried doing the Python stuff, lol. Had to look up a video on youtube cause a lot of the instructions are missing on the github guide.
It can not. Those are not external screens and you cannot move your cursor over this screen. If you want a proper screen, just google external HDMI screens, you can get those in the same size and resolution as this one.
Hello, I received the screen and I really like it. I put several videos on the SD card and set it to play the videos automatically when turned on but I would like them to advance to the next video as soon as the current one ends. but it happens that the same video keeps playing forever... can you help me with that?
It might not be possible, but you can merge all video files into one using any available video editor. You can also use fffmpeg, that is free and should work for this task.
finally found this! is this 100% more helpful then the official ones! already learn something. no wonder i cant use my own video because via "theme edit" it wont load!
Thank you, I’m glad it was useful. Also keep in mind that if you want to use your own video, it has to be max. Full HD resolution and bitrate below 3mb/s. Otherwise, you will see no error message but it will not play.
It´s described in my other videos about this screen; please watch them for more details. In short, there is only limited memory available for storing videos, so you need to delete the old ones before uploadinga new one (using a new theme with video). Another option is to use the SD card, in that case, you will have more memory. Hope it was helpful!
Not this particular one, since I believe this is the older version of the display, however, you probably cannot buy this one anymore. I have another video where this display does have the 4pin connector - ruclips.net/video/xdrJMHQ1idQ/видео.html
That’s correct, unfortunately there is a separate software for every display size. The advantage is that you can connect multiple different displays at the same time.
Yes it does. I got comfuse for some reason but this video helped me a lot. It is posslbe to ad any more sensors? Like gpu vram temps and hot spot temps.@@upir_upir
It´s possible, but perhaps not that straightforward. Looking at the documentation, there is not a one click solution to export a wallpaper as a video file. You have to use some tool for capturing the screen, for example OBD Studio, and than use that file on the display. Again, possible, but require a few more steps.
Those screens can only be used with the dedicated software that comes with the display. Someone created Python scripts for the smaller one, but not yet for the bigger ones. Another usage is that you can use it for playing video, in that case, you don´t need to use any software.
Thanks for the video! 😮I’m currently doing a heavy pc mod that is Mechwarrior themed, and I plan to use this to show a 360 rotating 3D mech and other similar hud cosmetic stuff. Currently using nearly all of my ports on gpu, but I loathe that aida64 doesn’t support videos anyways. Will have one large Aida panel just under main monitor though for the actual data.
You are welcome. By the way, you can display real actual data on the Turzx displays as well, and you can use multiple of those in one setup - they just have to be a different sizes.
@@upir_upir Yessir, I know that. My rig itself will just be a showcase; nothing I'll be looking at to get the stats. I've got a LOT tidy up, but this thing will be amazing when I'm done.
Hi, is there a way to show up FPS and frame-time readings as well? I would love to know that. I bought one because a Stream Deck felt a bit too expensive. But the thing I really look forward is the FPS.
There is a beta version of software for download on the website that has the option to show FPS, but I haven’t tried it yet. Hopefully it’s at least a little bit helpful.
You can already get custom scripts for the small screen (3.5"), so I guess it´s just a question of time until someone will create a custom apps. Hopefully. Those displays are really high quality, so it would be nice to have also some custom usage.
What can I do if my screen can't connect? I got a PC with one included and had to do a clean boot and the screen no longer turns on and Turzx can't find it.
Thank you, I´m glad you like it! You can use the smallest one with Linux, someone made some Python scripts. Hopefully someone will someday do the same with the bigger models...
That’s not possible with the provided software, but you can take a look at that Python script on GitHub, or should be possible with that. Also, is there a reason to not use some intelligent display like Nextion?
Hi, how safe is this software to use? There is a risk of some virus? Can i use different program to work with this display? How much CPU, GPU this display use?
It should be safe, but obviously nothing is 100% safe.. so use it at your own risk. That said, if there would be any problem, I´m sure someone would already reported this. It uses a little bit of CPU, no GPU. If there is a video playing on the background, it´s handled by the display itself, so it uses no PC resources - which is one of their selling point.
@@upir_upir What will not work if you will open not as administrator? Any antivirus programs flag this as no safe or how it is looking? Did you try use zadig drivers to use AIDA64 with this screen?
The option is there, but i haven´t tried it yet. I know that for 5" screen, the new software is still beta, so hopefully they will be able to fix it soon.
Random question, does windows think this is another screen? I have triple screens and looking for a small screen so I can put temps only on there, but I do not want another monitor in windows but rather usb if that makes sense.
That’s correct, it’s not an external display, so it’s not recognized as one. You can only use it with the provided software. And you cannot accidentally move your mouse over there. Plus it takes much less resources compared to external display.
@@upir_upir awesome, thank you for letting me know. How much resources does it use. Can you play a game with it plugged in and unplugged to see fps loss?
@menphues it should use very little resources. If you decide to display a background video, that’s handled by the display itself and does not use any pc resources. The PC is pretty much only sending new values.
@@upir_upir awesome. Thank you legend :) I’ll order option 1 and 8 now because it’s the cheapest and I literally only need the display for temps (currently using HWINFO and would rather a little screen that isn’t picked up as a monitor you know) your video is super helpful so well worth the up vote :)
Please see my other videos with this display (there is a playlist) that answers hopefully all of the questions. It has onboard memory, but it´s quite limited. I believe like 10MB, so only enough to fit perhaps one short background video. It´s better to use SD card, in that case, you can fit much bigger/longer background video. As for the software, you need to keep it running to show PC statistics. If you only want to use the display to show a video, you don´t need to run the software.
@@upir_upirah thank you i had the 3.5 inch one and i saw this one and was curious if it was any better like not having to keep the software on to see the stastics. Or if i accidently disconnect the cable i can just plug it in and the display works w/o having to reprogram it.
This display uses proprietary software, not aida 64, so in theory, you should be safe. Unfortunately I have no way how to try it. Worst case of it doesn’t work, you can still use it to play video and enhance the PC case that way.
@@billcipher534 You can download the software for free and test if even before purchasing the displays. Hope that helps. I also plan to record another video about those displays soon.
Yes, it needs to run on the background if you want to update the statistics. If you only want to play a video file, the software does not need to be running all the time.
Hi Turing just came out with a 2.1 inch version screen for aios. Could you kindly review them? Would love to know whether you can run both the 3.5/5 inch monitor and 2.1 inch monitor simultaneously and what the cpu/gpu load is especially during high workload/gameplay
Thank you for your comment; I will take a look and most likely record a video. Having a round display looks very interesting. I believe you can run both displays simultaneously since a different software is used, but I haven´t tried it yet. There will be no GPU load since only the CPU sends data to the display. Theoretically, it should be better than using another external display, but I haven´t specifically looked at the CPU load with this display. Do you have any photos of your setup?
Haha looking forward to the video. Im about to make my all white rgb nzxt h9 flow build. Waiting for phanteks d30 to be out so I’m trying to find a white Aio that pairs well with that so this new option instead of the kraken/callipex is something im exploring.

Right click on desktop > Display settings > Multiple displays > Extend these displays > Make this my main display. That said, you probably have a different display than the one shown in this video, because the Turzx screens don´t have HDMI connectors. They connect via USB.
I believe the resolution could be only up to fullHD, prefferably being 800x480, and the bandwith below 3MB/s. You might need to use ffmpeg to convert your video to play it on the display. Let me know if that helped..
The difference between those two is not just the size but also functionality. The smaller one is very limited, you only have a few themes to choose from and you cannot play background animations/videos.
@pavloskairis9994 It was listed as an "Early bird special". I didn't realize that. It now says $31. The 3.5" was listed in the Dollar Express area. It should still be there.
Thank you. This is just a simple tutorial on how to create a custom theme for this particular display/unit that could show all kinds of PC statistics. Like all the memory usages. You don´t have to create a custom theme in order to use it - it comes with many nice-looking themes predefined. Also, this screen comes in a few different variations, you can also get a smaller one or a round one - please see my other videos for more details.
Unfortunatelly not, this is not an external screen and it only works with the provided software. Well, unless the simhub software adds support for those screens.
Does anyone here know how to get the screen to use the SD CARD? I put a message on the forums and they guided me to the to screen card thingy which I tried (baffling system) and I can see on the device the SD card but nothing is being stored on the device… it shows internal storage being used.

Yes, it´s one of the intended usage. In fact, once you set it up to play video in the software, you don´t need to run the software anymore, and you can just connect it and it will play video automatically.
@@upir_upir Hi! I also need a small screen for looping a video in an exhibition. Do I understand correctly that after downloading the video to the small monitor, the device doesn't need to be connected to a computer anymore? I can charge it via charging cable like a phone?
That’s correct. You use PC to set the display to play video upon startup, and after that, you don’t need PC anymore. As soon as you connect USB to power, the video will play. Note that there are no speakers, so no sounds. Also there is a limitation on video quality. You might need to use some free video editor like ffmpeg to resize the video to certain bandwidth/resolution to play correctly.

Sounds like you are still one step ahead of me 🙂
Awesome I’ll try if this is work for my Linux server
Unfortunately the provided software is only for Windows.
Is there a way to change the splash screen image that is displayed until the software loads?
Unfortunately not. That´s hardcoded in the display.
Can this LCD display be used as a second display where I can move the cursor?
It can not. Those are not external screens and you cannot move your cursor over this screen. If you want a proper screen, just google external HDMI screens, you can get those in the same size and resolution as this one.
wait is the theme and the background video separate? can I edit the background photo instead in photoshop?
Yes, those are two separate elements. You can also use static image background instead.
Do you need to do the setup (open programme, load theme etc) after every boot?
No. You only need to do that once, or when you change theme.
@@upir_upir Much appreciated :)
You are welcome!
Thanks for this buddy ❤,
Most welcome 😊
@@upir_upir so far all the vid i got free from internet will do , but really i more interested for ready made ones , if any.
Thanks for the video! Why does mine says 'Insufficient Space! Please delete files in 'DevManager' or replace SD Card?'
It´s described in my other videos about this screen; please watch them for more details. In short, there is only limited memory available for storing videos, so you need to delete the old ones before uploadinga new one (using a new theme with video). Another option is to use the SD card, in that case, you will have more memory. Hope it was helpful!
Is this only on 5inch screen ??
cause i dont see it for 3.5inch screen
Correct. The 3.5" version is quite limited.
does it have no 4pin connector at the bottom? to connect to the motherboard? it is also convenient to use it to hide the 4pin wire on usb
Not this particular one, since I believe this is the older version of the display, however, you probably cannot buy this one anymore. I have another video where this display does have the 4pin connector - ruclips.net/video/xdrJMHQ1idQ/видео.html
Hello, why the 3.5 inch software isn't the same as the 5 inch screen software ? My 3.5 inches screen not work.
That’s correct, unfortunately there is a separate software for every display size. The advantage is that you can connect multiple different displays at the same time.
@@upir_upir Ok thank you; but the 3.5 inch software sucks a lot !
I just bought the 8.8 inch one, do you have videos on how to make themes?
Not yet, but I also have just bought this display, so expect a video soon.. Is the software that much different from the 5" version?
I have the 8.8 mounted in side the PC in vertical postion, put a killer moving background on it and using purple theme looks very nice.
Hi, i want to have a video running in background an some boxes in front of the video that in there i want to put my temps etc. Is that possible?
Yes, that should be possible. Actually, this video pretty much describes that, right?
Yes it does. I got comfuse for some reason but this video helped me a lot. It is posslbe to ad any more sensors? Like gpu vram temps and hot spot temps.@@upir_upir
the software looks nice in your video. I have the 3.5 inch version looks dodgy is the nice one only for 5 inch? can someone confirm?
I would say that ONLY the 3.5inch version software is that terrible. The software for all the other sizes is much better.
Its possible to download a video from the wallpaper engine and put it on this 5 inch display? And how? Thanks
It´s possible, but perhaps not that straightforward. Looking at the documentation, there is not a one click solution to export a wallpaper as a video file. You have to use some tool for capturing the screen, for example OBD Studio, and than use that file on the display. Again, possible, but require a few more steps.
@@upir_upir thanks!!
I can use it as a second screen, or with Wallpaper Engine or AIDA64?
Those screens can only be used with the dedicated software that comes with the display. Someone created Python scripts for the smaller one, but not yet for the bigger ones. Another usage is that you can use it for playing video, in that case, you don´t need to use any software.
you are actually sooooooo goooooood dude

Thanks for the video! 😮I’m currently doing a heavy pc mod that is Mechwarrior themed, and I plan to use this to show a 360 rotating 3D mech and other similar hud cosmetic stuff. Currently using nearly all of my ports on gpu, but I loathe that aida64 doesn’t support videos anyways. Will have one large Aida panel just under main monitor though for the actual data.
You are welcome. By the way, you can display real actual data on the Turzx displays as well, and you can use multiple of those in one setup - they just have to be a different sizes.

I made a custom one, I can select fps data but nothing displays. Too bad
Thanks for this. I got a different monitor and the software for it was worse than this. This ended up working just fine though!
That´s great to hear! Are you using some custom theme, or the one that comes with the display?
This screen should open the api for other purpose usage it would raise the popularity (I need to use it as a Simhub dash board display)
You can already get custom scripts for the small screen (3.5"), so I guess it´s just a question of time until someone will create a custom apps. Hopefully. Those displays are really high quality, so it would be nice to have also some custom usage.

Sorry I don’t know, but there is an official forum on the Turzx website, perhaps someone will be able to help you there?
Can it display custom data?
I am looking for a display that can display the fuel level of my fuel oil for our heating system.
Any possibility to show FPS here? I've added FPS through theme edit and seems FPS not working.
Does it have onboard memory and also does not require the software to keep it runing?
Or if i accidently disconnect the cable i can just plug it in and the display works w/o having to reprogram it.
is there a way to display FPS with these things?
Yes for bigger displays, not possible for the 3.5" version - that one is quite limited.
Can this device be set to display in-game FPS?
Yes, but not the smallest 3.5" version. Only the bigger displays.
hello good

Unfortunately the small 3.5 display does not support playing background video/animations. All the other display do support this feature.
hey man do you have any idea if this works while Corsiar ICUE is running. I'm asking cause I know sensor panels that use aida64 conflicts with icue.
This display uses proprietary software, not aida 64, so in theory, you should be safe. Unfortunately I have no way how to try it. Worst case of it doesn’t work, you can still use it to play video and enhance the PC case that way.
@@upir_upir if it uses it own software i might be able to use it then. didn't really want to pay for aida64 anyway. thanks for letting me know.
@@billcipher534 You can download the software for free and test if even before purchasing the displays. Hope that helps. I also plan to record another video about those displays soon.
does the app needs to be running in the background?

I believe the resolution could be only up to fullHD, prefferably being 800x480, and the bandwith below 3MB/s. You might need to use ffmpeg to convert your video to play it on the display. Let me know if that helped..
the 3.5 inch display costs $14 but the 5 inch costs $40, that's a big jump. I bought the 3.5 inch from Ali.
The difference between those two is not just the size but also functionality. The smaller one is very limited, you only have a few themes to choose from and you cannot play background animations/videos.
