A March, 22nd start date fit well into Dar's work schedule, and at the same time it offers up less congestion on the Camino, cooler days and opens up the possibility of nabbing the best accommodations
It also puts Easter Sunday inside our pilgrimage as well all the Holy Week events, including the Semana Santa or Penance Procession in Leon.
Our itinerary split our Camino into segments, covering 195 miles with daily distances ranging from 11 miles to just over 20 miles. Though this itinerary is less than half the length of the full Camino France, it still includes spectacular cultural sites, picturesque views, wonderful People and is all Packaged inside a spiritual journey established over a millennium ago.
We used Pygmy Elephant Travel to book out Trip. We have used them before for the West Highland Way and The TMB. They were able to get us private rooms with an attached bathroom each night on the Camino. Next up is the Casta Brava.
