Josef is a genuine American motosports superstar. Back to back Indy 500's, in his absolute prime right now, really handsome and articulate and smart guy. He's just the full package of a motosports superstar. If he joined NASCAR, his fame would go to the stratosphere.
A true champion is one who recognizes the importance of their competitors. That was a class act there recognizing Pato and his sportmanship. Youll be in Victory Lane Pato........i just know it.
Lots of haters making comments... Here is a fact for you: The first 350 miles of the race was a train wreck, which included a lot of mistakes by "seasoned" drivers. The guys that were able to stay in the race through the end are all great drivers that have great teams. Even though my guy didn't win, nothing but respect for the show that Josef and Pato put on at the end. Joseph got a second Indy win, and Pato's day is coming. Talented professionals. Thank you guys for that final 35 laps... great show.

I was impressed with Pato. 8 hope 2025 will be his year athe *ndy 500. Congratulations Josef it was an exciting race. I didn't that a a car race could be that exciting
He and team Penske cheated on the first race abusing push-to-pass and did a bad job of admitting fault and was penalized as such, losing all points to that race and handing the win to Pato, ironically enough. Roger Penske also owns the IndyCar series and owns the Indy 500 track, so when a car that was caught cheating wins the most important race of the season at a track owned by the the winning team, people are skeptical. Even if there was no cheating, there will always be a conflict of interest. Josef had respect from fans and fellow competitors, but that has waned because of the cheating controversy. Furthermore, in 2023, they red flagged the race and restarted the race in a one-lap shootout with Ericsson, 2022's winner in first and Newgarden second on the white flag. Like 2024, Newgarden got a pass on Ericcson and won. In 2022, Ericsson won off a yellow flag finish, which they were under in 2023 before giving an uncalled for red-flag. Once again... Penske owns the series and the track and his golden boy had not won a 500 yet, and ratings were ripe with a white-flag shoot-out. Do what you will with that.

@@Fighterjetsteveof1 No need to be that way. Any suspicion was entirely earned by their team (consider it part of their punishment) and an inherent part of cheating is sneaking things by inspection.
