It went from Ben posted an "inside joke" on a friend's wall to "you attacked a business partner online." It went from you called out my bad behavior to you attacked me. My head is spinning - I think Ben really triggered Tim by calling him crazy...probably thinking about his mama.
I think once Tim sensed he got under Ben’s skin he decided to keep turning the screws for comedic effect. Usually Ben is fine with being the punching bag but I’m guessing there’s been stuff going on behind the scenes that led to this boiling over.
Tim was actually describing himself when he said people lash out at those closest to them when they know they’re wrong. Good for Ben that he stood up for himself.
Projecting is a coping mechanism by someone who isn’t ready to see how vast the mental illness is within their own psyche. Not sure Tim will ever see it though because no one ever sticks around long enough to get through to him. Then when they finally throw their hands up in exasperation Tim blames them not himself.

@@luketanner736 rockets right tho... that tweet was obviously not a good idea... inside joke or not, do those jokes in private. theres a reason many jobs now demand their employees not use twitter or other social media platforms while working there, because the stuff you post can come back to hurt the companies reputation and image. like that one female police officer who kept making twerking videos on tik tok and lost her job because she was in uniform and on duty while making them. tim is an asshole EVERYONE here should NOT be shocked by this... period. its tims entire appeal that he is a funny asshole who goes on huge insane rants in a funny way. ben's tweet might seem unimportant to you but to sponsors, potential sponsors and anyone who runs any sort of serious business would instantly know NOT to post that in public.. imagine you greet your friends in a weird or offensive way in private when you go out with the boys BUT you use that inside offensive joke greeting out in public while at work... its wildly inapproperate.
@@ninvusoogoar6098 oh the irony of this. Ben is followed by less than 50k people on Twitter, I don’t believe that tweet blew up or anything? So the only way for that tweet to damage the reputation of the company is if Tim does exactly what he did and makes a big deal about it. I’m sure 99% of the people listening had no clue Ben tweeted anything to Steve but now they do. And just for it to backfire on Tim making him look even worse for sponsors and fans. Guarantee Tim lost more revenue from this situation than any backlash from a relatively unknown podcast producer making an inside joke.
In all seriousness, Tim seems like a nightmare to work for. I’ve always been a huge fan, and watch all Tim’s videos the hour he puts them out. But you can tell Tim probably gets really angry when he doesn’t get his way.
Tim was in the wrong, he’s comfortable bullying Ben which is why he’s disrespectful towards him. Tim’s head is getting too big now and that drug joke Ben made hurt Tim because it’s true. Tim should be grateful he managed to make money being an asshole or else he’d still be hitting the pipe.
Good for you Ben!! Good on you for not backing down each way Tim came at you and tried to manipulate the conversation for his benefit and side. I'm happy you stepped away, held your composure and acted like a man, kudos brother! You're better off without this bullying. Good luck!
Ben doesn’t owe us an apology. He wasn’t vicious, disgusting, or anything else Tim accused him of. Ben’s laughing it off because the alternative is to be truthful with Tim and actually lean in on Tim without the laughs.. Tim clearly won’t listen. His T ball illustration was demeaning and condescending. Ben doesn’t want to call out Tim because he sees how much Tim drones on and on after a basic comment about Tim’s funny/insane lashing out at people. Ben could have been much more bold about him, about how he just reiterated the same point on repeat for 30 minutes. Tim's inability to take any correction turned into quiet, soft-spoken berating for 30 minutes. Tim crossed the line and Ben is out. Now the in-house reactor to Tim’s insanity is gone and the show will be a new show. As someone who enjoyed the show, it was funny to see Ben's reaction to Tim's psychotic rants. We laughed with Ben, not with Tim. Ben's sanity is what we really connected with as viewers as we were entertained by Tim's insanity.

I mean yeah this has always been Tim but that’s why we love him. Once his personality starts being put upfront to someone else we care about, it becomes very apparent and we start getting defensive.
It's definitely not a big - agreed. That being said, I believe Tim does become super hyperbolic at various times during this argument because he'll be able to then say "It was a bit! This is exactly how it works with manipulative people. They do something wrong, then blame it on you, and then demand an apology before anything can continue. Then don’t accept the apology. Narcissists can’t stand someone who sees through the mask, calls out their bs and stands up for themselves. It wouldn’t shock me if Tim actually fired Ben the moment he realised he’d lost his grip and probably couldn’t manipulate or control him after this
It reminds me of the exact relationship I have with my boss. We both care about each other and will vouch for one another, but our relationship is always on thin ice because of his harshness and mood swings. It feels like one day I will just leave, and I think Ben is basically at that point.

Hook line and sinker with that one. Tim's narcissism hulked out like a cold sore breakout in this one. No hiding it. This is like if someone was intentionally trying to demonstrate what arguing with a grandiose narcissist looks like and deliberately tried to show every symptom of the illness. And that line about firing him was the closer. "If you were to stop amusing me, I'd discard you." Which of course, was a bluff, because narcissists don't actually want to lose their supply, but they do love to threaten with abandonment since it's something they themselves fear so much. According to Tim, he offered him more money but Ben was done.
And Ben should have taken it to make us laugh. I'm not laughing when Ben's getting defensive and getting all serious when Tim is still half-way joking. Ruined my entertainment

Ben was 50% of the fun of the "Tim Dillon Show." Everyone has a line and Tim crossed it, hopefully in time Ben and Tim can still be friends; but what hurt Ben the most was that he thought Tim was his real friend and not just someone who is paid to hang out with him. On the Bonus episode 167 that was then deleted Tim said " all I can do is give you money, I can't fix problems any other way." I'm sure a simple I'm sorry would've went much further with Ben than here's a bunch of money stay. Then the part where Ben said"I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings man," and Tim's response was "No you didn't hurt my feelings, if you hurt my feelings I would just fire you and get someone else." Tim saw Ben as expendable when Ben is 50% of the fun, plus you don't treat friends as expendable if they are really your friends. I think that hurt Ben the most, he thought they were real friends and Tim I guess doesn't know how to treat real friends. Plus Tim was saying he didn't want to talk about the post Ben made on air yet he did it anyway, he should have just not done it at all if he really didn't want to talk about it.

I think Tim wanted to sever ties with Ben for what ever reason, he kept intentionally triggering Ben by repeating "I didn't wanna bring it up" several times throughout the end imo to get a bigger reaction out of Ben so he could brush off the backlash from losing Ben as 'well I tried to have a talk with him but he went off, can't work with someone like that etc' but credit to Ben for his savage reply "the people giving the intervention need to be sober" Tim you've lost your closest friend and a fan but you know. I watched all three videos, and i can see what Tim was trying to do. Tim saw one of his sponsors be in a vulnerable position, and with Ben’s inside joke, he sqw where there could be potential trouble. However, i think Tim,(possibly), made a mistake that theres no coming back from. I think Tim tried doing one of his comical rants that he does, do a bit of damage control, but i think he tried over-deliver his point so he wouldnt loose a sponsor, and ended up loosing Ben instead. One, i think this was a conversation that should have been had off-air. Two, if youve ever seen Tim in the JRE, or in any other podcast for that matter, hes made it pretty clear that jokes are jokes. They shouldnt be taken seriously. He then proceeded to take Bens joke seriously. An *inside* joke. I think they should have just addressed it as an inside joke, maybe issue a small apology, and left it at that. Instead, he tried to clear the situation, and i think he only made it worse. Forget what this situation is about, what bugs me is the way he tries to tell ppl that jokes are just jokes, criticizes those who kneel to the sponsors, and it now seems like hes doing just that.
Yeah but Ben said it was his bad and apologized right away. He understood what tim was saying when talking about potentially hurting a sponsor. But tim was just circling it like a shark and wouldnt stop and tried to keep driving ben in the dirt. It could have easily ended when Ben said he was sorry and that it was his bad.

Tim’s biggest problem here is that he’s taking out his self-admitted (and self-capitalized-upon) anger issues on his best friend, provoking Ben in a passive aggressive way for way too long, and assuming that he has the right to condescend to & “correct” another human being- let alone Ben- for doing something that he disagrees with comedically.

Ben was 50% of the fun of the "Tim Dillon Show." Then the part where Ben said"I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings man," and Tim's response was "No you didn't hurt my feelings, if you hurt my feelings I would just fire you and get someone else." Tim saw Ben as expendable when Ben is 50% of the fun, plus you don't treat friends as expendable if they are really your friends. I think that hurt Ben the most, he thought they were real friends and Tim I guess doesn't know how to treat real friends. Listen to how comfortable Tim is with his leverage and how entitled he is to getting his ego stroked by harping on Ben "apologizing to the audience"
I wish him well.
I'm not saying this to Ben I'm saying this to Tim because he just shot himself in the foot.
Tim brought chaotic comedy but Ben brought a lot of heart.
“Full package of horror” Ben should put that on his resume that sounds like a qualification if I ever heard one
"I will just replace you"... Yikes, good that the dude left this freak.
I think Tim wanted to sever ties with Ben for what ever reason, he kept intentionally triggering Ben by repeating "I didn't wanna bring it up" several times throughout the end imo to get a bigger reaction out of Ben so he could brush off the backlash from losing Ben as 'well I tried to have a talk with him but he went off, can't work with someone like that etc' but credit to Ben for his savage reply "the people giving the intervention need to be sober"
Tim you've lost your closest friend and a fan but you know. I wish you well
#TeamBen
Lets all shed a tear for stevewilldoit. How will he ever live on his millions of dollars in savings?
The gaslighting is crazy
Tim was really out of line w/ Ben. If this is why Ben left, I don't blame him. The show hasn't been the same w/o him.
I'm very late to this, but it's so great to see Ben handling a narcissist like this.
A sponsor with no more means to actually sponsor 😂
u put that well about instead of losing the one lost the other
an inside joke would be sent in a private message. not publicly the day your sponsor is like dealing with something huge. maybe tim wants the show to be successful and maybe ben giving the show a bad rep to sponsors is like a no brainer that he shouldnt be doing it? like do you think joe rogan has to tell jamie not to do something so dumb? yet poor ben as hes literally tripling down on disrespecting a sponsor. i think bens ego is too easily hurt to be on a show like this. he should not even be visible tims literally soloing all the content all ben has to do is not fuck that up and yet somehow hes managing to try
@@rocketrob9436 thank you. People are acting like the show is called Tim and Ben’s Podcast. It’s the fkng Tim Dillon Show. Ben’s job was to look 💩 up and get ribbed by a comedian. Basically a dream gig that Ben gave up because of his fragile little ego. If you think any of this is “abuse” then y’all are literally the softest people walking the 🌎🤦🏻♂️😂
Man I thought Tim was joking with this shit man they were a comedy duo in my opinion
I think a lot of us have been around a person like Tim. Got to get people like him out of your life.
The fact that Noone in tims life has struck around, even given his massive success, speaks volumes.
This sounds like it's coming from a tremendous amount of jealousy, like he's been thirsting for revenge.
The gaslighting is so next level 😂
Full package ben avery he will be missed
Tim went full Livia Soprano on this one
I remember this being a super awkward moment. I hope the best for Ben.
You don't lash out like this unless you are miserable in life. I hope Tim can find happiness, I don't think he will survive for long with this much hate in his heart.
Love you Ben. You’re an actual man.
Wow. Ben has the balls to apologize to just Tim and hurting his feelings and Tim cant accept it lol.
Tim’s biggest problem here is that he’s taking out his self-admitted (and self-capitalized-upon) anger issues on his best friend, provoking Ben in a passive aggressive way for way too long, and assuming that he has the right to condescend to & “correct” another human being- let alone Ben- for doing something that he disagrees with comedically.
that gay energy was a time bomb with Ben ! I guess the bomb finally exploted!!!
Wow. This broke my heart.
08:38 a genuine apology was given, and instead of just taking it and saying thank you, what you say when you accept an apology, Tim came back with something that I'm sure stuck in Ben's mind, because they're not joking, they're being serious; *you're replaceable.* I wouldn't be surprised if this moved Ben to quit, saying he was no longer satisfied with the job. Tim offered him more money because he didn't _really_ want him going anywhere, he was just insensitive beyond reason here. I'm sure Ben was already not happy at his work, but this would just put him over the edge to leaving, easy.
Here's a very original take that NO ONE has ever said: how you treat service workers is a good representative of the type of person you are
When Ben asked who Tim is angry at, I immediately thought: "himself"
When you get done here, go back and rewatch part one. Tim is a lunatic
