When/if you build something more permanent on that back desk, you may want to consider making it a steo or two taller than the front positions. That will help line of sight to the stage as well as the other positions.
Companion has been amazing for us. As a liturgical church there's a fair amount of swapping between songs, liturgy, camera, turning lower thirds on and off, and so on. Easy to mess up those changes when switching manually, but now we've got most of it automated from Proclaim, so the system is pre-programmed that once we reach *this* slide in Proclaim then press *these* buttons in Companion. MIDI from Proclaim to MIDI Relay, which then makes an HTTP call to Companion, which in turn operates our Atems.
I echo what some of the others have said. Would love to see a video of how exactly the StreamDeck was programmed to execute Mac Screen share feature with just one button press!
Thanks Jake for another awesome Video. I would love to see you doing deeper explanation in using stream deck and how to set it up if possible. Seeing how you can access so many different software from different computer in your PC is awesome!
You should use the user signal feature in the wing to run your channels post fade to your ableton sessions. Once the house sounds good mix the ableton session based off the house and all mix adjustments should be relative to both house mix and live stream based off of the moves your FOH engineer makes
The Stream Deck Companion FB group is very helpful. I've setup two XLs with multiple pages and have some buttons triggering 10-15 actions for a very specific scene.
This is awesome, I'm not sure if it's been asked already but do you have a video explaining how to connect all your computers on a stream deck using companion? I've been trying to figure this out for so long now with no success.
I've always thought video stuff needs too much handling lol. Sometimes people make it so complicated.. and others so simple. I really think its the remote control stuff that makes settup difficult. The more you want to controll, the more you have to mess with it.
+1 for a lower thirds tutorial. Seems like there's so many ways to do it, and hard to know the pros/cons. Right now we set a green background in ProPresenter and then do chroma keying in our ATEM. Would love to switch to luma keying, but need to buy a Decklink or Ultrastudio, and give up another input on the ATEM (I think). And then there are the setups where the ATEM feeds into ProPresenter rather than the reverse.
Nice! Yes the streamdeck paired with companion, is quite powerful! Very cool that you guys have setup the screen share to auto-connect with one button. Wonder if that would work with TightVNC or somethin for Windows. Thanks for the video Jake!
There seems to be space to put a permanent table on a raised platform so the opperators could look over the heads of the front of house desk ? A platform would allow space to hide cables etc...
Those can be pricey especially for how many camera operators you have and also you don’t want the congregation to hear the walki talki lol unless it has a headphones output. The best way I recommend is Unity Intercom, you are paying to set it up through your wi fi router and then you can have all of your production team members and more voulenteers in your church on groups like (Production, Broadcast, Kids Ministry, Security Team) so that it is easy and organized and all of your church volunteers can communicate through the free app and use a set up of headphones @Churchfront I think this is a amazing solution!
We have been using the Skaarhoj airfly to be our console switcher from a seperate video room and it also has the ability to fire macros and is customizable. :)
I need to learn how to configure all of this. Our sunday volunteer situation goes from a full crew to a one man band on the drop of a dime. Future video on the setup? Will you cover any of this during the June gathering in CO?
I like these set up videos, and how you are documenting the process of the transition. Very cool. By the way, how are those m1 Mac Mini’s doing for you? I just got our new Mac Mini for ProPresenter and I’m excited to intergrate it into our current system! Replacing an aging 2015 iMac that we were asking to broadcast stage screen, Main screen, take in a livestream video feed, layer media and lyrics, and push out to Resi.
I watched one of your videos about how you control ableton in the stage from ableton in the tech booth, could yo explain how do you do that please? I wanna implement that for my worship workflow. Thank you and God bless you!!
how are those minis working out. Did you mention they are running lights? Is there one specifically for streaming or did you end up going a different route?
Awesome video tour! Thank you for creating this! Do you ever remotely control systems (lightkey, video cameras, audio mixer) from off-site? How would you configure that?
If you chose to use a separate room for video switching/online sound etc, would you recommend keeping the ATEM Production Studio 4K in the booth and control it remotely? or move the ATEM and run your SDI's to the broadcast room?
I have a similar question: How do you mix the broadcast while in the same room. I am finding it very difficult to account for the stage volume when setting up a mix for broadcast. In our setup (FOH is an X32) we are using a pair of buses to feed a matrix with all the sources for that set to post-fader. I usually record from those buses some of each song during rehearsal and play that back when the musicians are done. It's always a big surprise how the drums and the piano disappear in that mix and how present the effects and vocals are. It is still a work-in-progress. I'm actually considering active noise reduction headphones for this purpose, but I fear the subs will still get through to the ears via bone structure.
Hey guys, Thank you for this video. I need a camera for the Livestream service that is very good with low lighting, and 100 feet range. Can you suggest any, please? Also, does the pro presenter have lower thirds and the ability to display the song on the screen at the same time?
ProPresenter 7 can display lower 3rds on any screen it’s controlling. If you have an HDMI capture card, you can use it in ProPresenter and display lower 3rds over it. There is some latency between what’s happening live and what’s shown on screen depending on your setup.
@@Churchfront Is the touchable app comparable to the faderport midi controller? Or would you use one over the other? I’m trying to figure out if a $30 app will pretty much do what the couple hundred faderport does.
@@Churchfront do you see that 90 sec delay from the booth or just on the stream end? Is it hard to get a clear a audio for live stream being in the room and not a quiet space that would obviously be better
Is there any way you can do a video on how to set up the screen sharing? I could really use that.

+1 For StreamDesck Ninja course. Excited to start using one in our setup.
Can you make like a diagram of how you set everything up?

This quick update is very helpful, lots of good stuff in here!

What are you using to send the multi’s to all of the screens? SDI splitter?

I agree, there is too much talking about what you have done and not enough on how you did it. I'm IP illiterate and need babysteps.

Jake can you give us a back of house sound booth video while a service is going on. Just to see how it flows
Good idea
Can you makes a video about How can I add more HDMI ports to a mac m1? To use three display. 1 Atem mini pro 2 stages and 3 congregation

You can also output an NDI feed from propresenter into a program like OBS, and do the luma key there. It doesn't require the addition of any outputs.
An export of the Streamdeck profiles would be cool for us to see the macros you've built etc.
Yes please

Do you guys have an in-depth look at Companion, StreamDeck & the typical equipment used in churches? Specifically Pro7.
Awesome mannn 👏🏾👏🏾 really great job plus really excited for the new videos

By any chance you are able to have like a pdf wiring schematic of that setup available for download?
Oops, took the iPad lol great vid. Thanks
One question I have is; how do you communicate with your camera operators?
You can simply use a walkie talkie

There are only static cams at the church currently but we’ve done a video on about comms previously on this channel

What app are you using for screen sharing?
+1 for using Bome network for Midi
Thanks for sharing, how did you guys get that camera mounted on the wall, I've been looking for a bracket strong enough but cant find any.
100% with Bome. Only downside is it does not work with iPads if you want to control say page turns but otherwise works great!
I need to learn how to configure all of this. Our sunday volunteer situation goes from a full crew to a one man band on the drop of a dime. Future video on the setup? Will you cover any of this during the June gathering in CO?
We cover the whole system in our broadcast mix mastery course. And yes, at the june gathering, you'll be able to try this hands on.

@churchfront what's the dual monitor set up? What are you using?
How did you hire Ben Afleck to be your worship pastor???

You could do that with Google Chrome Remote Desktop or TeamViewer
I had a panic attack as soon as I saw all those wires - lol.
Great information, but for someone who gets motion sickness, 4/5'ths into this video, I had to go lay down.
If you chose to use a separate room for video switching/online sound etc, would you recommend keeping the ATEM Production Studio 4K in the booth and control it remotely? or move the ATEM and run your SDI's to the broadcast room?
I think we would keep it in the booth and run a multi view and audio networking cable.
What software are oyu using to remote between the different machines?
What year MacBook Pro is on the back table
Are you running a single instance of Companion shared on the local network? Or does each computer run it’s own instance?
You guys should use the trigger button as well on propresenter it’ll help with the whole timer situation!
How are you listening to and mixing the broadcast mix without reference monitors ??

IEMs
In our case the FOH mixer is also responsible for the livestream. IEMs would be even worse than headphones in our case.
Can you use the ATEM control software without a physical switcher??
Yes. You can use the software controller. Easiest setup is to have a touchscreen laptop. That's what we use at our church and it works great!
@@noahmckenzie527 that’s awesome thank you!
How are you getting the propresenter source into the Switcher?
They're using a Decklink DUO 2, send directly to their switcher over an SDI cable
How are you controlling Lightkey with the Stream Deck?
With a plug-in
