There is still a decent tracer that comes out of the gun with subsonic ammo. It’s not a bright light like the normal rounds but is more of a Smokey disturbance in the air along with all of the smoke that comes out of your gun. I wish they would add subsonic ammo into the game for all weapons and make it so the range is bad but it ACTUALLY hides all visible tracers
Thats not a tracer then. The tracer is the bright light. It is not a generic term for anything that can be used to trace the shot back to the original point. Tracers are specific rounds interlaced in the magazine to make it easier to track, and they are simply mimicking that

Most guns can’t cycle subsonic ammo. I think MW2019 did it better with what guns got subsonic ammo, here it’s just a few correct ones with a couple random 9mm SMGs being subsonic.

A suppressed gun with subsonic ammo is quieter than airsoft. You'll definitely hear it from 50 meters away in a quiet environment, but it doesn't sound like a gunshot, more like a click.
So they should balance subsonic guns as a niche stealth playstyle to where the suppressed guns are much quieter than non subsonic guns, or idk maybe that’ll be too strong

Though I don't understand why they made it exclusive to only a few weapons instead of adding subsonic as a general ammo type for most guns. Stealth players would have more variety and it would make balancing much easier because they'd just have to heavily reduce effective range and bullet velocity in exchange so the gun becomes less useful in duels but more useful for flanking/stealth.
I feel like bullet velocity is so good and because of that it would be really cool to tie these perks with bullet velocity instead of the gun and actually buff the benefits more. Creating another trade of for every gun to consider. It obviously needs to be more beneficial to be subsonic for people to consider it on other weapons.

So, irl, subs are basically no quieter than supers without a silencer(there are exceptions, I know) . It's when you use a suppressor the difference can be noticed. Bullets make three sounds on semi auto/select fire guns. The muzzle report. That is, the explosion that comes out of the barrel. The super sonic crack, if applicable and the action of the weapon cycling. Silencers attempt to deal with the 😂report, subsonic rounds deal with the crack. The action stays loud. Unless you have a manually operated firearm. With the exception of most revolvers. These are usually very quiet when shot suppressed with subs. Like movie, scary, quiet.
I'm still a FIRM BELIEVER in Supressors FOR SOME LOADOUTS. Mainly on bigger maps but I use them on all 5 of the subsonic guns always for some reason. Just makes it a little bit harder to find me if I'm playing super Ratty.
0:38 in the player’s defense, the description for the Chimera and others are literally cut off so how is the player supposed to know. It would be nice if IW can fix the UI so it can fit the whole description of a weapon. The whole point is to display the gun and briefly explain why should I use it instead of something else.
I call it "60 free rounds whenever you run out of ammo". Screw the penetration use, it's reserve ammo that doesn't take forever to use like the ammo box and doesn't blow up either.
The insane nerf to stealth play means subsonic ammo is pointless as hell, they really added things in the game that have zero purpose given the run and gun unlimited UAV gameplay
They should add subsonic as attachments, not as integral to the guns. Would add more variety for Stealth players and it would also be easier to balance. They could simply add it as an ammo type and heavily reduce bullet velocity and effective range in exchange for the benefits of hidden skulls and tracers. For the MP5 they could even add the iconic MP5SD barrel that slows bullets down by design.
@@SFOPS just reloading is much different than the rest of the gun though. They always go for “realism” and it hurts the game more than helps imo. If they had realism after 3-5 rounds in full auto we would have insane vertical recoil lol.

If you've heard anyone talk about it, you get to a point where you're basically at equilibrium with the weapon system effectively "removing recoil" because you're leaning in enough to the shots that the firing force is holding you up. People with great enough experience would be able to pull this off like a baseball player can accurately throw a ball at a target without needing to think about it.
What I was wondering is if the red skull from an enemy death location is affected by this? Say my teammate gets a kill with the Bizon, does it still show with the Tracker perk?
My biggest issue is how most every attachment increases ads. Even a red dot. Red dots without magnification should increase ads time. Its way easier to get on target with red dot than iron sights in real life.
Red dots are like 1 frame lost and you have even the basic laser which makes up for that. Many barrels, stocks and rear grips reduce too and weapon tuning. There has to be some loss over irons for your target acquisition advantage.
@@Shugenja86 watch his other video about ads time and the penalty. Its super unbalanced. Using attachments which increase ads adds up to 25ms. Using attachments that decrease ads adds up to like 300 or 400 ms. Which almost makes the attachments that increase ads unusable.
Great vid! I was wondering, did you only test the super vs sub sound profile unsuppressed? Or did you also test if there's an audible difference between super/sub when using a suppressor? ILR, a suppressed subsonic is noticeably quieter than a suppressed supersonic, but they don't sound much different unsuppressed (at least up close) because an unsuppressed gunshot covers up the sonic crack for the most part.

Read the description and it tells you. It makes you immune to tactical equipment and refreshes tac sprint or something like that. Can’t remember exactly
Resistance to tactical equipment, constant tac sprint, no healing delay, you just immediately start regaining health, even if that's between getting shot with two bullets. Don't get me wrong it's not insane and it definitely won't matter if you eat like five rounds out of an M4 at point blank range but paired with battle hardened and bomb squad I've been able to sit on a hardpoint and eat flashes and frags without dying. The issue is that the film grain consistently gets me killed because I can't see anything, that really needs to be removed.
The .45 ACP and .300 BLK are well known to be sub-sonic unless you are running REALLY hot ammo. So considering this is an arcade shooter with realistic attributes it makes sense that it is tied to the gun and not various attachment combos.
The fact that tracers aren't tied to the bullet projectiles themselves seems lazy and like poor game development to come from a multi billion dollar franchise
Hey, great video... but one thing I've never seen you address is if slower bullet velocity results in a higher TTK. Surely the subsonic bullets would take longer to reach their target?
May not be obvious but High Velocity Ammo is +P+, which should cycle the action, bolt carrier etc faster. Ammo along with gas system, barrel, port size can affect the rate of fire. So it should speed up slightly.
@@xSP3CTREx high velocity ammo in this game is just a lighter projectile, hence it decreases range. +P is its own separate attachment (and it barely does anything)
Does changing the ammo attachment disable subsonic at all? Wondering because changing the ammo on the "Nice" gun to explosive rounds disables it's special effect.
I wish they would bring g back the integral suppressor for the mp5 like in 2019 made the bullets subsonic like irl and would carry these benefits. May e they should add a subsonic ammo attachment for all the guns and make it velocity dependant. I just want a realistic stats based game like tarkov but smooth like cod is that too much to ask? And also knock it off with the fake gun name bullshit.
The fact that the x12-13 arent considered subsonic but the fennec, p890 (that shoot .45), the minibak, mx9, (supposedly) bas-P, (which shoot the same 9mm) *are* is so painful. Imo they both could use the subsonic perk buff (although it wont make them must-picks, more of a QoL change) technically the lachman sub should be too.
It's probably easier to remember which guns are subsonic if they just make the subsonic properties tied to the gun and not bullet velocity, even though that doesn't make sense. The game is already complicated and wrong displaying one of the guns, so they'd probably just fuck it up more by changing it to bullet velocity.
The fact that going below subsonic doesn’t do anything is hugely disappointing. It’s nitpicky but If this was the case it would actually help suppressors and make any gun better for rushing. It’s honestly a disadvantage to other guns as well, it’s very slight but it would help with rushing a ton.
just think it's strange how they decided which guns would be "subsonic". The only ones that actually make sense here are the Chimera, Fennec, and the P890. Everything else would need to be using underpressured ammo to achieve subsonic in real life. Even the .300 blackout in the Chimera would be supersonic unless you're using subsonic ammo specifically
Id never pick a gun in this game for that specifically. As the game is id rather choose a gun that has higher velocity. Even though its not tied to velocity, they are all slow except bas. Id much rather them fix supressers so they dont disable ghost when shooting. As is ghost is way weaker than it should be and uav are even more of a crutch.
Why does this affect tracers? Why is this not just an option? I thought it was really dumb all guns in this game have tracer rounds by default. It’s a step back from MW. Also Ace you’re right it should be tied to the actual velocity. It would also be cool if subsonic ammo made it so your blip on the radar was shorter.
Subsonic rounds are so weird. Why isn't it an ammunition type like in VG? Why isn't it tied to the BV of the gun? I feel like that latter option would be a cool buff to shorter barrels and BV decreasing attachments in general.
Really would love for you to do more tests with recoil stuff and under barrels to see recoil plots and report on that stuff. The community literally has 0 idea whats going on with attachments and what does the best stuff for recoil and i feel like the FTAC Ripper, actually may not be meta based on what ive found. I think commando foregrip might be the play again tbh. Would love to see what you've found/can find
It doesn't as the subsonic attribute is tied to the guns themselves. So you could tweak them any way you want and it wouldn't affect the subsonic status
I'm not fond Sub sonics being built into a weapon, especially with weapons like the AUG which fundamentally defeats the purpose of a bullpup weapon system. I'd rather it be a combination of how you kit you weapon or what ammo you're using. Not the gun itself. I'm not just bringing this up because "It'S MoRe ReAliStiC", but rather because I think that's a degree of realism that makes the game more fun because it actually gives you a reason to hurt your weapon's BV unlike if you were playing the previous MW. Also, supersonic cracks seem to be largely missing anyway, which I never realized how useful it was to find where an enemy was shooting me from until I picked up playing this one. I usually only occasionally get it from a sniper.
When I was using the Chimera, I would unlock my quick fix perk, but it would also tell me ghost is active which I thought was weird or a glitch or something lol
While I do agree that it would be neat to gain the benefit from essentially debuffing your velocity, it also makes sense to be related to the ammo anyway. Subsonic ammo is usually either much heavier/denser, or has weaker propellant. In either case your normal rounds would still weigh the exact same and have just as much gas exploding out of the muzzle.
I keep getting the feeling it's for balance reasons, to keep everyone from navigating to one weapon (ie best weapon) and just keeps it to where no one know. Therefore diversity because noone knows what to use.

.300blk is well known to have both super and sub sonic loads. Its not "really hot ammo" its standard
So im guessing if i "change" the ammo type by putting on say, fmj rounds, i wont loose the subsonic bonus right?
Sub sonic is built into the gun. Attachments have no impact.
HCR has an integrated silenced barrel option as well.
Most quiet and best subsonic gun in game is Raal MG, That gun has no sound and its a huge benefit of it

Tuning muzzle velocity to virtually make every gun subsonic would be a cool idea. But I think that level of depth is beyond this game's capabilities.
What about the belle indicator, damage indicator of where the billet came from? Does subsonic affect that? Does anyone know ?

I like that they’re trying to subsonic to the game I just wish it was tied to bullet velocity.
Hey, great video... but one thing I've never seen you address is if slower bullet velocity results in a higher TTK. Surely the subsonic bullets would take longer to reach their target?
The bullet velocity really only affects ttk in ground war or war zone, the 6v6 maps are too small
May not be obvious but High Velocity Ammo is +P+, which should cycle the action, bolt carrier etc faster. Ammo along with gas system, barrel, port size can affect the rate of fire. So it should speed up slightly.
@@xSP3CTREx high velocity ammo in this game is just a lighter projectile, hence it decreases range. +P is its own separate attachment (and it barely does anything)
can u do the breakdown stats on the SO-14 on full-auto mode? that gun melts 💯

Does changing the ammo attachment disable subsonic at all? Wondering because changing the ammo on the "Nice" gun to explosive rounds disables it's special effect.

I wish they would bring g back the integral suppressor for the mp5 like in 2019 made the bullets subsonic like irl and would carry these benefits. May e they should add a subsonic ammo attachment for all the guns and make it velocity dependant. I just want a realistic stats based game like tarkov but smooth like cod is that too much to ask? And also knock it off with the fake gun name bullshit.
The fact that the x12-13 arent considered subsonic but the fennec, p890 (that shoot .45), the minibak, mx9, (supposedly) bas-P, (which shoot the same 9mm) *are* is so painful.
Imo they both could use the subsonic perk buff (although it wont make them must-picks, more of a QoL change)

It's probably easier to remember which guns are subsonic if they just make the subsonic properties tied to the gun and not bullet velocity, even though that doesn't make sense. The game is already complicated and wrong displaying one of the guns, so they'd probably just fuck it up more by changing it to bullet velocity.

The fact that going below subsonic doesn’t do anything is hugely disappointing. It’s nitpicky but If this was the case it would actually help suppressors and make any gun better for rushing. It’s honestly a disadvantage to other guns as well, it’s very slight but it would help with rushing a ton.
just think it's strange how they decided which guns would be "subsonic". The only ones that actually make sense here are the Chimera, Fennec, and the P890. Everything else would need to be using underpressured ammo to achieve subsonic in real life. Even the .300 blackout in the Chimera would be supersonic unless you're using subsonic ammo specifically
Id never pick a gun in this game for that specifically. As the game is id rather choose a gun that has higher velocity. Even though its not tied to velocity, they are all slow except bas. Id much rather them fix supressers so they dont disable ghost when shooting. As is ghost is way weaker than it should be and uav are even more of a crutch.

Why does this affect tracers? Why is this not just an option? I thought it was really dumb all guns in this game have tracer rounds by default. It’s a step back from MW. Also Ace you’re right it should be tied to the actual velocity. It would also be cool if subsonic ammo made it so your blip on the radar was shorter.
Subsonic rounds are so weird. Why isn't it an ammunition type like in VG? Why isn't it tied to the BV of the gun? I feel like that latter option would be a cool buff to shorter barrels and BV decreasing attachments in general.
Really would love for you to do more tests with recoil stuff and under barrels to see recoil plots and report on that stuff.
The community literally has 0 idea whats going on with attachments and what does the best stuff for recoil and i feel like the FTAC Ripper, actually may not be meta based on what ive found.

I used the sakin MG whatever it is yesterday. I pressed Y to switch weapons. It didn't switch. I switched classes to the SO-14 and it worked

It doesn't as the subsonic attribute is tied to the guns themselves. So you could tweak them any way you want and it wouldn't affect the subsonic status

I'm not fond Sub sonics being built into a weapon, especially with weapons like the AUG which fundamentally defeats the purpose of a bullpup weapon system. I'd rather it be a combination of how you kit you weapon or what ammo you're using. Not the gun itself.
I'm not just bringing this up because "It'S MoRe ReAliStiC", but rather because I think that's a degree of realism that makes the game more fun because it actually gives you a reason to hurt your weapon's BV unlike if you were playing the previous MW.
Also, supersonic cracks seem to be largely missing anyway, which I never realized how useful it was to find where an enemy was shooting me from until I picked up playing this one. I usually only occasionally get it from a sniper.

When I was using the Chimera, I would unlock my quick fix perk, but it would also tell me ghost is active which I thought was weird or a glitch or something lol
While I do agree that it would be neat to gain the benefit from essentially debuffing your velocity, it also makes sense to be related to the ammo anyway. Subsonic ammo is usually either much heavier/denser, or has weaker propellant. In either case your normal rounds would still weigh the exact same and have just as much gas exploding out of the muzzle.
If there is I'd be pissed cause why can't IW just tell us what each attachment or anything related actually does
I keep getting the feeling it's for balance reasons, to keep everyone from navigating to one weapon (ie best weapon) and just keeps it to where no one know. Therefore diversity because noone knows what to use.

Plus, Subsonic ammo should reduce damage and range while making significantly less noise, especially when suppressed. How hard is it to model it properly..
OMG AFTER THIS LAST PATCH....I have at least 1 attachment "bugged" related to the 9k; lvl 12 > the last ammo type for SMGs feels bad =/

Uhm, it should probably be tied to the type of ammunition and/or whether you are using a suppressor/muzzle flash hider. Also they should fix the description of the basp.... shouldn't be THAT hard, just a few words...

There’s no word from IW on whether this is a bug or a feature, but the lack of communication mixed with the amount of recent updates makes a lot of people believe this is an intended mechanic
