Yes, he is going to regret picking Vance as VP, a guy who is not only on record as previously having denounced Trump is extreme terms, but also has a history of making extremist right-wing statements. Moreover, given Trump's age there's a fair chance that if Trump became President again he would die in office, thus making Vance President. A lot of voters will be very uneasy at that prospect.
