    What about when you want to draw your ellipse less open, what I mean is we know that the more open the ellipse is the more it looks like a circle the more closed it is the more it looks like a line, I seem to be able to draw the ellipse more open but have more problems when I draw the ellipse thinner, any tips?

  • @nd-mr7om
    @nd-mr7om 4 года назад +3

    If you were drawing say a head, or body in general, or maybe a landscape, are you also keeping your elbow/forearmed off the table? Or can you use your wrist for those things?

    • @Thedesignsketchbook
      @Thedesignsketchbook  4 года назад +2

      It is mostly about the size of the line or curves you want to draw. I recommend drawing with the wrist for details or writing.
      For a head, I will move my whole arm to start with a circle (crane base) and draw with the wrist to draw the eyes, nose lips.
      A TIP: a small curve could use your wrist as a "center of rotation" and draw like a compass. :)

    When i use ghost drawing my ghost elipses are all different shape and size. It's been more than a month of everyday practices but i cant do ellipses still (if it is an ellipse it's wrong size) T_T

    • @swindbarishal3993
      @swindbarishal3993 3 года назад

      Try ghosting it slower and really focus. If its different sizes every time, then try drawing two parallel lines, and keep a target of drawing the ellipse in between those two lines. Btw you should check out drawabox on youtube for more detailed explanations

    • @Thedesignsketchbook
      @Thedesignsketchbook  Год назад

      @@ronaldpagar6513 The circle and the ellipse are 2 different shapes.
      The circle is round like a Soccer ball for example. And ellipse is more a rugby ball shape.
