Hi Jimmy , wonderful/useful video as always ! I could have used this yesterday as I couldn't get a Peugeot wheel off ...... vehicle towed to the tire shop instead. Cheers
Tyre company overtightened mine on a Focus. They couldn't remove them when I went back nor could anyone else! Was recommended to a place who welded a nut on each to remove them. How often does this happen I asked? At least three times a week he said!
Well done Jimmy BUT... I had Greenflag send out an idiot, circa 2010, for a problem with a bolt, on my 2005 X-type 4WD Jaaaaaag. He used a lrger hammer and I stopped him BUT, the damage was done!! That was a Saturday evening, away from home as I would have sorted it out, with my tools'. ANYWAYS, come Monday morning... coming back across Richmond Park... turned up the hill and BANG! Looooong story cut short. Turns out that when he was WHACKING the NS wheel... he actually ruined the OF side driveshaft!! SO, be careful how gard you do this, still great videos'!!
I wish you was closer to hull would love you to look over my xc90! My engine systems service light was reset.but comes back on the minute i go to pull away even before revs hit 2000 🤯at a loss with it 😢
@@seemaab one of the smallest bolt removing sockets will undo the bolt(usually).or undo the other wheel bolts slightly and take the vehicle for a short road test (slowly)with a few corners ,may loosen the locking bolt.
@@m_lockwood-tj9kv I got the shallow bolt removing sockets. I heard about the method of loosening wheels but it’s abit scary. I got a welder too but don’t know what rod to use
I've got the common McGuard type and it was easier to buy a new one online than to get a tool to get the old ones off. I think I lost the original key by forgetting to take it off before driving away. £35 is a lot cheaper than any other method. To be honest any dealer should be able to supply them from stock either from the vin or the key code if you have it or even visually. Do people still steal alloys these days? Probably easier just to steal the car.
Do people still actually steal alloys these days? I know it used to be a thing but I've not heard of it for years. Great video, really enjoy your channel.
Well done - with the correct kit / (expensive kit) its quicker & easier - I would like to see it do volvo locking wheel nuts though - honestly why would you bother producing cars with them anymore - unless you are running expensive rims - if you had a porsche or Maserati. They just steel the car 😂 🙏🙏🙏well done!
It’s not aimed at DIY market, it’s aimed at business so they can charge, for example, £20 per locking wheel nut. The mouldable dies are a couple of quid, once shaped to the first one it can be used in the other 3 if needed. The black ones like Jimmy used can be used multiple times, granted they are a bit dearer. Quite easy to make it pay for itself though.
Just saw the video-thanks for putting our new tool to good use! Keep up the great work on the channel! 👍
No problem 👍
The day my wife bought one of these cars, the locking wheel nuts were "Wheed" over a hedge and standard ones replaced them.
Yes. Wheelie bin is the best place for them. 👍
Me Too 🤫
Exhausting work even with a quality removal tool. Well done 👍👍
Quality service from Citroen 😮
The local tyre place to me has this tool, I’ve seen them using it in customers cars. They look like a good tool to have!

Thanks Jimmy,, best man on da job 👌
Great video. Thanks for the tool review.
Good job, Jimmy!

That doesn’t even make sense how that happens
You can’t beat the persuader
Cheers jimmy, so basically it’s a fancy impact Wrench, I wouldn’t be putting another lock stud back after that.
Can you put the shroud on the driver before putting the socket on the end, then slide it in?
I had to remove one, all the local garages gave up on. It took me about 3 hours but eventually I got it off, but did have damage to the wheel 😢

You can drive to him 👍
Looks like a lot of poorly
People do.
The spinning ring breaks easily when a thin centre punch is used, the bolt is removed with normal bolt remover.no damage to the wheel.
I’ve got this exact issue where the spinning ring has come off. I can’t seem to get the bolt out with standard bolt removers.

Did the customer bring new bolts to replace?
@@tonyford7987 I ordered some in from Bennets car parts
What would this service cost? For all 4 wheels?
Standard tool for RAC patrols

Company van had its spare wheel knocked a week ago... Yes people still are at it
@@thindo Damn, that's seriously made me re-think about getting locknuts lol. I recently had all 4 wheels re-powder coated...
My advice to anyone is once out keep them out. Those mguard ones have to welded out jimmy
Mcguard are the easiest nut remove

It isn't about what it costs, it's about what it earns. 👍
