Folks...if you're curious about the contractors used to build all this...here's a few links for ya, everyone has been super great to work with!Concrete Contractor www.wraysconcretefinishing.com/ Timber Frame Contractor: carolinabarnbuilders.com/stoneyridge/ Steel Building Contractor: dws-structures.com/
I just found this video, and it's very well done! Having been in the masonry/concrete business when I was a younger man in the early-mid 70s, I enjoyed watching how it's done today. Whatever the chutes couldn't reach, they moved around in that motorized "cart"; we used to move around in wheelbarrows! It took us a bit longer, and we couldn't make the Polaks who ran the show happy if they had to wait 30 seconds for the next load! It was the definition of manual labor, and believe it or not, there were Americans who were willing to do the work! I was paid well over minimum wage at $4.00/hr. (When the minimum was $2.10). So, at 19, I felt like I was killing it! Of course, a bottle of Bud was a buck and a half, so it's all relative. (My oh my, how the system has failed us all since then!!!) Looks great, Josh!
I love your vision you got for your place. Turning out awesome, everything has came so far. Concrete guys did great, hard to find a Concrete crew like that any more, i can't even get them to pour a simple slab for a metal building right anymore.
I've heard that line from someone I worked with in regards to the concrete cracking at the cuts. Needless to say my grandfather poured concrete on the side growing up and the patio at my grandma's house as well as my mom's are both older than me. WITHOUT cracks. I'm 36. Use that for reference. My grandfather has passed and that breed of Craftsmanship is long gone.
They always have someone who says negative comments ! U don’t watch if u don’t like ! I think ur doing a great job Josh and come up with some great ideas for ur farm -farm means allot of things - meaning u can do would u like on ur FARM cause its urs !! 👍🏼👊🏻
Having beena driver of a front discharge concrete mixer for 19 years, the concrete company typically eats the cost and sometimes, even a small discount on the concrete needed to finish that pour
Once I saw the finished product I see why you dye the concrete. As the color release is rinsed and scrubbed off it allows the base color to come through. Very nice. Thanks
This brings back memories of last summer and the pouring our 12' by 84' by 4" thick patio and 45' by 65' by 6" thick driveway. It was done on three days. Two loads for the patio and six for the driveway. The ratchet heads they have for the mag floats and Fresno floats are amazing. I wish we had those 25 years ago when my brother and I were working concrete. Up here in Idaho we put four coats on to keep any moisture from freezing in the concrete.
Josh the outdoor kitchen looks absolutely awesome, if you ever make it up to Edmonton my brother has a similar pavilion style outdoor kitchen I could show you. I canhardly wait door the awesome content
I feel sorry for all the hard work them guys put in to that. Concrete work is a very hard job I sure hope the cement company made it right with them hard workers. Thanks for the Video Josh its looking Great Man
Some workers are more 'time lapse' than others! Glad things are coming together for you! I want to get sorted out for winter. Basic things you can't or don't want to do in cold.
Shew....I know...I have a tremendous respect for concrete workers! This is hard work and so dependent on the weather/other people and machinery. They did such a great job!
I like the tan, but anyway that's because what we did that on our 6" (2X6's) divided driveway was sprinkle a 5 gallon bucket of coloring up and down over top after pouring. And scratch it in. Beats boring grey. See it didn't make sense to use to color the whole pad. My old dog Daisy has her foot print on it! WOOOOOO~ thanks Josh fun.
When we delivered colour concrete, it was always instilled at the plant, other wise it didn't mix properly. the company that I worked for now uses ink to colour the concrete.
great camera angle on the kick screeding at 16 minutes, even in the concrete guys videos ive never seen that angle which really shows the foot motion to someone.
even with relief joints and rebar, concret will crack across, not always in the joints,my garage floor had fiber mix,1/2 ionch rebar and relief joints cut and it still cracked across, and it is a 6 inch thick pad, mixed at 6000 lbs.
I have been told by people I trust that there are three eternal truths about concrete: 1) It's gray. 2) It gets hard. 3) It cracks. (Although you have shown us that you can control the grayness with some dye)
we pull the pump out of the well brother...the pump is in the well itself..the pipe is accesable and I actually burried 2 wires to feed the pump in case one fails in the future! Good thinking huh!
Morning Josh nice video sorry to hear concrete truck broke down thanks for all these great videos you have been uploading. Like Josh better without the black beard.🤣🤣🤣
Josh it all looks great but I have a question that may be answered if I just wait but if you are putting color release on the concrete then why dye it first?
most simple way I can explain it...the base concrete color is tan, the part that is stamped has red accents (color release) otherwise it would just be grey concrete with red v/s a more natural looking tan color
Brian's Farming is in the process of having a house built. They had his cousin a concrete contractor poor a back porch(and front porch, as well as their new mega shop) that they did in dyed stamped concrete that failed the first time. Some areas weren't setting up properly and others were setting too fast??? Idk, I just know they had to tear it all out and do it again. Supposedly it was the fault of the supplier and they ate the cost.

You should dye your eyebrows to complete the look. Haha…just teasing. I love the look of your kitchen pavilion project. Very nice
So? What was the cost?

Came out beautifully, Josh. What a difference from beginning to end! I'm excited to see the addition and everything coming together. Wooooo!
I’m retired now but I was a Superintendent for a construction outfit and a business owner I poured hundreds of yards of concrete Good Job Guys 🤙🏻
Weddings, Small music festivals, Camping, Solstice celebrations etc Looks good
I love your vision you got for your place. Turning out awesome, everything has came so far. Concrete guys did great, hard to find a Concrete crew like that any more, i can't even get them to pour a simple slab for a metal building right anymore.
Beautiful job by all! Huge job and appears to be a very efficient crew too!

Wow a building and a outdoor kitchen since my last visit.
That's a good crew. They did a really good job !! I like it.
Watching you from Kenya, Africa. It is beautiful beyond measure! Captivating from start to finish. I've learnt a lot too!
Thanks!
thanks brother!
Turned out beautifully, those men are great at their jobs.
From Australia 🇦🇺 Josh, 👍enjoy your projects on farm

Wow!!! That looks great! I'm sure you will enjoy that for many years to come. GOD BLESS.
Yes, I remember watching live when everyone was stressed because the other cement truck hadn't arrived. Turned out beautiful!! 💪😁👍
The guys did a good job! It looks really good! Thanks for sharing! God bless!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Holy crap that concrete looks amazing.
Once I saw the finished product I see why you dye the concrete. As the color release is rinsed and scrubbed off it allows the base color to come through. Very nice. Thanks
Beautiful work , very professional concrete colleges

Wouldn't the 12'x84' 4" be the driveway?
@@safffff1000 No, that's the patio, being only 4" thick. it runs the length of the house hence 80' long
Another great video of the concrete portion Josh. Love all you do to give us great content.
More to come!
Morning Josh sorry to hear concrete truck broke down
things happen like this...but we'll make it I'm sure!
Chandler, enough said right there. Hope they make it right for you.
Josh,MSRF ; Looks absolutely beautiful!
Can’t wait to see the last section of the pavilion put on that will be beautiful
What a fantastic job. I would like that pressed texture on my future patio. Your doing a great job with your videos. Keep it up.
Josh the outdoor kitchen looks absolutely awesome, if you ever make it up to Edmonton my brother has a similar pavilion style outdoor kitchen I could show you. I canhardly wait door the awesome content

Just, WOW! That looks awesome!
That is a beautiful post-and-beam structure.
Looks amazing!! You could host weddings under that structure!!
Some workers are more 'time lapse' than others! Glad things are coming together for you!
I want to get sorted out for winter. Basic things you can't or don't want to do in cold.
Looks good Josh, enjoy your new space.
One of the many factors that is very difficult to control as a finsher.
Shew....I know...I have a tremendous respect for concrete workers! This is hard work and so dependent on the weather/other people and machinery. They did such a great job!
🙋🏼♂️ Josh, looks great ! Good Finishing crew …. I like it when the plan comes together 🤠 🐄
Looks really nice, good work by all.
Big Job with High Risks A+ for pulling it off (!!) May seem simple but not so- Exclent Crew
Looking very nice wonderful job.
Beautiful work!
Love the stamped concrete
Josh, the job looks AWESOME. Thanks for sharing this project 👍👍👍👍👍😺🫠🐺
Beautiful job. I'll bet they make some interesting snot.
over the top brother,,, blessings
Any particular reason why you didn’t put rebar or wire in the concrete?
Looks awesome Josh
I think it looks great good job
i like your shop,awesome
Hey Josh. Thank you for the video concrete looks nice lot of money though Woo
I like the tan, but anyway that's because what we did that on our 6" (2X6's)

Wow they work so hard
amen!! People don't get to see hard work like this as much as they should...gives ya a new respect for how hard folks work
Looks absolutely beautiful
What did they put down over gravel before they compacted it?
Crusher run aka cr6 good choice
Looking good. Looking GOOD.
When we delivered colour concrete, it was always instilled at the plant, other wise it didn't mix properly. the company that I worked for now uses ink to colour the concrete.
great camera angle on the kick screeding at 16 minutes, even in the concrete guys videos ive never seen that angle which really shows the foot motion to someone.
it takes a special eye to get the best shots sometimes! Thanks for the complement!
Awesome content as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Up north we used to say "there's always enough time to do it twice but never enough time to do it right" ...
Looks great mate, nice job.
As always, awesome video love the progress that’s coming along nicely can’t wait for more upcoming videos. God bless and stay safe.❤
At least they didn't use rebar, easy tear out.Always hate to see a fellow concrete crew have issues
Living in Texas it always blows my mind at how little rebar they use over on the east coast.
hard packing clay soils v/s sandy soils in other places
Beautiful work
Thank you very much!
That’s a hard working crew there.
Looks great! I hope the concrete company sent a dump truck to haul away the wasted material. Nobody needs a pile of concrete lying around.
Josh it is lovely like it buitful😊 from steve c from Oregon USA
even with relief joints and rebar, concret will crack across, not always in the joints,my garage floor had fiber mix,1/2 ionch rebar and relief joints cut and it still cracked across, and it is a 6 inch thick pad, mixed at 6000 lbs.
very true...especially if the site isn't compacted
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer i compaced it hard, but it still cracked, but nothing seriuos

Great video Josh!!!
Concrete is hard work me and my dad poured a 30by 40 basic slab with a few helpers and it turned out ok but that was hardest day I've ever worked
It looks awesome
Drove concrete truck for 10 years sometimes things dosnt go as planned.seen a poured one time foundation were hole thing had be redone
man...that's no fun!!
If you concrete around the "Well Head" how you replace the pump if it fails?
we pull the pump out of the well brother...the pump is in the well itself..the pipe is accesable and I actually burried 2 wires to feed the pump in case one fails in the future! Good thinking huh!
What is the concrete PSI rated???..... where i live they use wire mesh to give more strenght to the floor and re-bar on heavy duty applications
Wow...what vision❤❤❤
Why is there no rebar under that cement slab under the outdoor kitchen?
it's a patio, not a parking spot for a dozer my friend...5 inches of 4000 psi concrete
Doesn’t look like there’s any metal mesh reinforcement under the concrete. When is that required and when can you forego the reinforcement?
Great video! betwen barn an canopy with the height changes? handrails? just thinking outloud.
Trip Hazzard was my concern.
yep...we talked about this too.....I agree...there will be some planter boxes there to get rid of tripping hazzards
What no mesh put down
Morning Josh nice video sorry to hear concrete truck broke down thanks for all these great videos you have been uploading. Like Josh better without the black beard.🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful!!!❤❤❤
Enjoyed 👍
Great job. Amazing
It’s a blessing they had no rebar or wire in the concrete?or it would’ve really been difficult to remove.
The sealant made that concrete pop.
Great job beautiful
Do the dye bags degrade in the mixer
Just curious why they arent using rebar?
Josh wonder if i could do my driveway like your kitchen floor
yes you can....there are many many different stamp patterns too! It's not cheap, but man it looks super classy
If I did it id have to copy yours exactly.
That red made your kitchen look great.
I like the structure, the concrete color not so much. But that's why they make chocolate vanilla and strawberry right ?
it's all about matching up with the building's color scheme
A fire grilled rock pizza oven? That's a mouse full!
Beautiful!
Awesome job
Brian's Farming is in the process of having a house built. They had his cousin a concrete contractor poor a back porch(and front porch, as well as their new mega shop) that they did in dyed stamped concrete that failed the first time.
Some areas weren't setting up properly and others were setting too fast??? Idk, I just know they had to tear it all out and do it again. Supposedly it was the fault of the supplier and they ate the cost.
With that much concrete to move, why didn't they use a concrete pump?
I dyed my mustache with mom’s mascara, as did several friends. Looked about as ridiculous but washed out. It was 8th or 9th grade.
Im wondering why they didnt use any rebar or wire mesh in that whole pour
Nice job. It would look nicer if the curve around the well was replicated on the other side as well.
