  • Alternator problems on your Ford Escape SUV? Alternator not charging the battery? Before testing the alternator and / or replacing it, make sure to check the alternator fuse. It is the most common and cheapest thing to replace. ( 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | HYBRID ).
    Alternator fuse is located in a small fuse box under the front hood. You want to check Fuse #6 which is 15 Amp fuse.

    I have a 2009 ford escape the battery light keeps coming on and going back off after a minute or so. The alternator is charging I changed the battery and the serpentine belt and it’s still coming on any ideas

      Hi, I would start by measuring alternator voltage using multimeter. Same thing with the battery. Inspect the wiring between those and make sure all terminals and connections are clean (no corrosion). Hope this helps
