I am old school l accept they will be forced on us sooner than later but l will hold out as much as possible. l had an electric scooter with a claimed range of 50km, if l ever did 30km on a charge that was very rare. So no thanks. Until they can do 1 000km, minimum, on a single charge, more charging stations are available and they do a full charge in less time, l am not interested. However, when they work they are simply amazing, pity the juice tends to run out too quickly.
I am considering the normal hybrid version which you can buy for just over £30k. I think they may be asking too much for the 300e considering its low range. For £53k you have a lot of choices out there.
We have leased one. After 1 month of having the car it's got terrible range, hoping for around 160 in real use but only getting 120 miles maximum, if we had bought it we would have sent it back.
In the hybrid model, the battery is underneath the back sets, NOT the boot floor. The reason for less boot space in the hybrid is just poor design in the boot and how high the boot floor is (loads of space underneath), something which they thankfully corrected in the UX300e.
@@rivervalegroup funnily enough I have one today as a loan car. Honestly I'm quite surprised how quick it feels, especially at higher speeds with all that instant torque, more than enough power for the roads. the NVH and ride quality are bloody good, leagues better than a Tesla. So definitely fun to drive, but being front wheel drive, traction control was kicking in a lot. Two big problems though, range isn't that good, and blimey it is overpriced for what it is. Lexus have really got the pricing all wrong with the UX300e, it should be 35k max for the base model.
Nearly £45,000 for a car that does less than 200 mile driving range. Devon & Cornwall don't have any motorways. I could not drive from Devon to deepest darkest Cornwall & back in one charge without stopping in Truro for nearly 1 hour to recharge the thing. I wouldn't want one if you were giving it away.
@@adrianbyron-parker5797 It is a shame cos the car is well done for what it is but the range... And cos of that the price becomes unjustified... Based on the online feedback I suspect Lexus are going to have to buy these back. Lexus currently have 69 used 300es available. The short range and chademo is fatal. Shame - I was interested in buying this car.
Biggest issue is slow ev charging because of non standard poor charging port. So takes 4x to 6x as long as popular fast charger, that's a stupid decision. Oh and poor rear legroom. Check independent reviews

Definitely. But I bought the UX250h.
