Just had API fix several cracks in my pool (fiberglass inground). They not only fixed the obvious cracks but also went thru the trouble of inspecting all suction, return and light fittings and sealing the hidden cracks. Very knowledgable and pleasant to work with.

I recently had a large spa installed in the ground, which is 4.5 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and 1.3 meters deep. Unfortunately, a crack has appeared at the bottom of the spa after only six months. The person who installed it has told me that the pressure from the ground around the spa caused the crack. However, after watching some videos, I've noticed that there is no hydrostatic valve installed. I'm wondering if it's necessary for a spa this size to have a hydrostatic valve? As this would of released any pressure. Also without the valve it would be difficult to empty the spa if ever needed.

Vinylester resin is what a pool is made of. It is water proof and does not yellow, also in stronger than appoxy when used with chop strain

I know this is what pool manufactures use to make their pool. Never said it wasn't waterproof. But the rest of your statement is highly inaccurate. Vynle ester does yellow because of the hardener that is used in it, it is also very hazardous to work with and breathe in. You have to wear a respiratory mask when using because of the Styrene and other stuff used in it. Vynle is also a mixture of both Poly and Epoxy resins. Vynle get its strength from the epoxy portion. Some believe it stronger because you combine the two. But Poly Ester actually doesn't like to mix with water so that's why you can get blister on some fiberglass pools. Our epoxy has no oder and we don't have to wear anything when working with it. And as you can see it is not yellow. I have seen many repairs made with vynle ester and it is very yellow/brown once cures. Vynle also does not make it stronger when you used with chopped strain. Nor does epoxy or poly. These resin used gives absolutely no structural integrity to the fiberglass. They are used to bind them and waterproof the fiberglass etc. The fiberglass is where you get the strength. And chopped strain is not stronger than bi or tri woven fiberglass matting. Most pool manufactures used chopped strain shot out from a gun. San Juan is one of the only manufactures that still use 1 layer of fiberglass matting when making there pool molds. It's like comparing cut grass to a strip of grass turf. That's what it's like with chopped strain vs matting.
