The style and aesthetics of this game is really cool, recently there was a trend where the games tried to potray the live action actors as game characters but this is different, these characters looks like they're ripped straight from a comic book and I love and respect the devs decision for going in that direction 😊
I loved how they kept the original characters, so no korean Hulk, Miles Morales, Cleo Strange, Harry Osborn as Venom, etc.. naah, people grew up with the iconic characters, they are more likeable. Maybe they can eventually show up later as reskins or even have their own "kit", but for the main roster, the main characters are the better choice instead of going z-list

Spiderverse really changed the landscape of comic book animation, the stylisation of combining 2d and 3d with full and half framerate will forever be ‘the spiderverse style’
I'd say on a more minor level, those films also helped put Peni Parker's character on the map. She's only been around in Marvel for 10 years now, and look how far she's managed to come through this trailer alone.

Thor looks good in the game, a shame the sound effects of his hammer are not that good. As usual, one of the main flaws of Rivals is how everything looks and sounds "floaty", there's no feeling of impact. But hell, the characters look good even if they are floating

This has nothing to do with Overwatch influence at all, other than the 6v6 hero shooter, everything else is and has been always there in the many Marvel Comic books, so no, it is not an Overwatch Influence
It's ironic because Overwatch is extremely derivative, it copied Team Fortress along with so many other stuff. Dva for example, everybody assumes Peni Parker is a clone, but is the other way around, Peni was created first back in 2014 if I'm not mistaken

Well, she does look like a Devil may Cry character wielding a Berserk giant sword, the devs are from eastern asia, so it's easy to understand why. And Psylocke will be a thing (the asian audiences loves this character), Iron Fist most likely, Peni Parker, etc.. I think these characters will all receive extra care for asiatic reasons
Just a reminder everyone: the plot around the game centers on their own version of 616 dealing with a "timestream entanglement" basically alternate timelines are converging and breaking apart based on the two doom's beef. so we might get some alternate timeline shenanigans and characters... but if they follow the rules we wont be getting any alternate reality/multiverse characters. because alternate timelines do not equal alternate realities and dimensions. At most well just get references to them through skins and dialogue. This is a thinly veiled 616 meets an alternate 2099 game. which is cool as fuck btw don't get me wrong. I'm in the playtest right now and I'm having a blast but i just wanted to clear it up for those who follows the movie's logic of timelines = multiverse.

This game is a memory hog so yeah they need to fix that... I am playing other game like T8, overwatch 2, and even demandin graphics like plague tale 2 just fine but marvel rivals somehow stutters even if I dedicate all of the memory for the game...
No one really knows, but following the rumors, there will be a open beta this year, then launch in early to mid 2025. I guess they will try to avoid GTA 6 at all costs, so I will not be surprised if they release the game in early access to speed up the development, then release the "1.0" version in july 2025 to coincide with the Fantastic 4 movie (that is the smartest course of action in my pov)

Just a reminder everyone: the plot around the game centers on their own version of 616 dealing with a "timestream entanglement" basically alternate timelines are converging and breaking apart based on the two doom's beef. so we might get some alternate timeline shenanigans and characters... but if they follow the rules we wont be getting any alternate reality/multiverse characters. because alternate timelines do not equal alternate realities and dimensions. At most well just get references to them through skins and dialogue. This is a thinly veiled 616 meets an alternate 2099 game.
which is cool as fuck btw don't get me wrong. I'm in the playtest right now and I'm having a blast but i just wanted to clear it up for those who follows the movie's logic of timelines = multiverse.

@@conjaard for a competitive shooter it should not be dropping into the 50’s with a 3070 ti at high settings with lumen off it’s not my pc it’s that the game is horribly optimized

This game is a memory hog so yeah they need to fix that... I am playing other game like T8, overwatch 2, and even demandin graphics like plague tale 2 just fine but marvel rivals somehow stutters even if I dedicate all of the memory for the game...

No one really knows, but following the rumors, there will be a open beta this year, then launch in early to mid 2025. I guess they will try to avoid GTA 6 at all costs, so I will not be surprised if they release the game in early access to speed up the development, then release the "1.0" version in july 2025 to coincide with the Fantastic 4 movie (that is the smartest course of action in my pov)
