    Good Job Chris. I have been following your work for years and it never ceases to impress me. I am an architect and a paranormal enthusiast with a love for the older historic buildings and stories. Wow, Chris, you produce documentaries so well, they're haunting! The music was so pertinent and the last song got me. That wooden wall in the hotel @ 21:59 made me drop my spoon and rewind. I could smell the wood, and feel a weight of unknown memories. You have more history in one square foot of your country than we do in 10 square miles of ours. That village is worth a thousand paintings and your dox make it fun to learn!
    ~
    As you may recall, in doing my genealogy, one of my very important direct ancestors was supposedly born in Badley, Suffolk, just up the highway NE from Lavenham!!! He's listed everywhere as being from Badley but may have been baptized in Alderminster where his father was married, much further west. And his ancestors are from Bucks, Berwick and Northumberland, among others.
    I also recall you doing a show in the small church in Badley which may be where my ancestor was possibly born in 1630. That's how I found you!! My family were prominent gentry further north, so can't quite figure out how they ended up there, unless maybe they were indeed affiliated with the Poole family which is still in those parts today. I have archaeological records of Badley Hall (farm), the large certified book on its history and six years of research, and am still baffled. It may involve an illegitimate, or the journey of a 2nd, non-inheriting son or just some shaky genealogy records. His father or grandfather from what I can tell, owned many estates and oodles of land, one rather well-known in Buckinghamshire (from Q.E. 1st) and ancestors in Parliament (and early Colonial government in the states). And we were also in Henry VII and VIIIs' courts (not to mention 2 marriages and 6 or 8 generations from being related to Mary Stuart, Henry VIII's sister. I could never find your show in the little church in Badley again, so hope it's still in your archives, but I don't recall you mentioning my family name in the church's history. You can imagine my thirst to visit England for long periods of time if I can one day.

    • @HauntedEarth
      @HauntedEarth  2 года назад +1

      Thanks my friend for your feedback and research! Badley is a favourite of mine for its history, that`s for sure. Be sure to check out my new show from a puritan chapel in Suffolk.

    I stayed in Lavenham for a weekend before christmas 2021 and the place is without doubt one of the most historic places in England that has retained it's medieval feel. If the cars were removed from the streets it would still look like something from the 14th to 16th century. It's a shame the railway line was taken away from here and is now a footpath, but then that may help in keeping this gem of a place caught in a time warp.

      @@HauntedEarth look into drinking distilled water or water from a filter called zero water. Tapwater is full of indigestible calcium, that ends up in your body. Can cause calcification of the heart, brain (altzeimers), joints, and kidney stones etc... I think fluoride that they put in water furthers calcification.... Both of which are gotten rid of
      through the filter. I only found all this out after Chris Whitty recently announced the full fluoridation of Englands water supply, anything that sorry excuse of a man advocates needs examination.

    Fabulous to see your new material Mr H! We used to live in Long Melford years ago so we often visited Lavenham. I was frequently spooked during my days of working at Melford Hall too, especially whilst setting up before the visitors arrived. It's a funny old place with an exceptional history. The Swan in Long Melford has a something unhappily lingering in the staff quarters upstairs too. I did a trial shift there but never went back for it spooked me so! 😂

I've enjoyed a few holidays in Lavenham over the years (stayed in Shilling St in what we understood was a 15c cottage, but I've since learned it could be later). It's a good location for touring the area - I've done a couple of visits to Great Livermere (MRJ country), and Borley from there in the past. Funny, but I always visualise one of the cottages on Water St, as the location when I read "The Pestering" by D K Broster. Keep 'em coming.

    Superb production throughout, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video Chris. Especially the part about Vincent Price and his roll in Witchfinder General, very informative. Were you aware also that the sadly murdered actress Sharon Tate part filmed her last movie 12+1 aka The Thirteen Chairs in the building (Angel Corner) 24:01 next to The Angel Hotel. Then know as an Antique shop back in 1969. The movie production team put up a mock sign above the shop depicting it as "Antiques At Greenwoods" the "At Greenwoods" being a bit crudely done to blend in with the original shop lettering. Up until a few years ago the shop was know as Angel Gallery but is now a private residence. Other non Sharon shots were taken in the square and with the Lavenham Guildhall used in some scenes. I would dearly love to hear from anyone who might remember the production team filming this movie in or around March / April of 1969. In the movie Sharon Tate can be seen kneeling inside the shop by the very window shown in your video at 24:01. Keep up the great work.

    Thank you for this Chris. I've always loved Lavenham ever since my first visit in the early 90's. We stayed mainly at Pound Cottage, which was No 20, Shilling St (- get it ?) but also at Bolton St and Water St. I have a book I bought, whilst I was there, "Joe's Story", by a local guy who was born in 1911. This gave a view on life growing up in the town over that period. Ironically, his sister eventually moved to Sheffield and was a neighbour of a friend of mine, who told me about it. I hope I'll get back one day.
