I just overcame homosexuality and am so happy to be living with God. If you're struggling, it IS possible to change. You are NOT trapped. Seek God and give yourself time to work through your struggle. Be patient. You are worth it. God loves you!
Praise the Lord. Btw check your coping mechanism, it's something enemy exploit coz our trauma
When first freed it is a dangerous time. Make sure you have a support network set up to help you when the enemy attacks, as he surely will, one or two people who know your struggles and are close enough to know when you need help can make all the difference. Just a quick tip, when the enemy attacks you to try and get you to engage in a sin, pray for others who struggle with that sin, pray for people who caused you hurt, pray for protection, this typically sends the enemy running as he knows good prayers like that will harm his battle plans. I am soo happy for you receiving freedom! God is glorious, he is victorious, and he is good!

I was doing the same. Pray pray pray to Jesus to come into your heart. After I got saved I would go down the beer aisle and I would literally feel sick to my stomach. I would hurry up and leave that aisle. God is amazing!!!!

My friend it’s the power of the Holy Spirit that enables you to deal with sin not your own merit. Salvation is all of God, he calls, he sends the hound of heaven to turn you around and gives you the free gift of faith and repentance and he indwells and he keeps you are severely overestimating what you are and what you bring to the table, which is nothing but your sin nature that God puts to death in you.
We don’t lose our sin nature once we receive Christ. The Bible says that sin remains in us and that a struggle with that old nature will continue as long as we are in this world. Paul bemoaned his own personal struggle in Romans 7:15-25. But we have help in the battle-divine help. The Spirit of God takes up residence in each believer and supplies the power we need to overcome the pull of the sin nature within us. “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9). God’s ultimate plan for us is total sanctification when we see Christ (1 Thessalonians 3:13; 1 John 3:2).
Through His finished work on the cross, Jesus satisfied God’s wrath against sin and provided believers with victory over their sin nature: “‘He himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness” (1 Peter 2:24). In His resurrection, Jesus offers life to everyone bound by corrupt flesh. Those who are born again now have this command: “Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11).

@@jennifernordlund2691 Actually, that’s not true. Sin is sin. One of the problems with homosexual sin is that it is celebrated and a whole month is dedicated to its celebration. The difference with Christians is that although we recognize we can and do sin, we repent of it and if we’re truly Spirit filled, we will not remain in our sin. We turn around and go the other way. It’s the process of sanctification. If I claim I’m a Christian but continue, for example, to have adulterous affairs, I am not truly born again. If I am a glutton, I need to repent and stop doing it, and it’s possible if one has the Holy Spirit living inside of them.

Keep turning to Jesus. Sometimes when we sin, we want to turn away in shame. He came to save and wants you to come to Him daily and everytime you sin in every area. He can help us repent and overcome our flesh.

I have a brother who came out 40 years ago and doesn't recognize the lifestyle as a sin. It's eating me up because I love him fiercely. Do you mind telling me what finally did it for you? I am definitely praying for him but I feel confronting him will only make him hate me. Unfortunately I bought into the lie that "he was born that way" for MANY decades and have only recently repented and come to terms that I was deceived.

Did you watch the video? That is not a holy union that is blessed by Christ. Yes God loves them as individuals but he did not create them to be together. This is coddling like she mentioned. Hi Dibby, im sorry that you feel evangelism did that to your life. Perhaps it wasn't the area God wanted you in or it was before your time to do so. I can understand how evangelizing can be difficult because you meet alot of people that disagree and even hate what you say. It could have been hard and even traumatizing at times. You said doctrine damaged your sexuality but did you ever think that you put your sexuality before God? Thats where the damage was done. If you were an evangelist you know that God made woman for man and the devil tempts us in many ways. It is our duty to deny our flesh and deny pleasures that draw us away from him. Sin is pleasurable it feels good but it still leads to death. You may feel happy with your lifestyle but do you have peace in your heart at the end of the day? We are not called to follow our hearts and what feels good we are called to pick up our cross, deny our flesh and live for him. He never said it would be easy in fact said it would be difficult but that we wouldn't be alone. He has already overcome the world and through him so can we. I hope you give these things some thought and I hope you know that God still loves you very much and is waiting for you to come home. ❤

The gospel of Jesus Christ is exclusive by nature. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth (not a truth if that even exists) and the life, whoever comes to the Father must come through me". That's a truth claim, and truth by it's very definition is exclusive as it denies and rejects that which is contrary to itself. This verse/statement in and of itself shows the exclusivity of the call God through the gospel of Jesus Christ, the power of God unto salvation. A stench unto those who do not believe and a sweet-smelling fragrance unto those who trust and believe.
