@@KenyoMurabu It didn't need new feet, the feet were just being used to attach the top panel to the rest of the build. The extra space from the ground probably helps a little with airflow to the gpu too. Yes, the back was cut out. Did you even watch the video? And it doesn't even look that bad. Who the fuck looks at the back of a computer/console anyway. It is an i3 8100, a QUAD CORE cpu that runs at 3.6 ghz. And yes, the gpu most likely did most of the work. Games/benchmarks are mostly graphical. Are you accusing him of lying? Why would he do that? Jesus christ you are fucking stupid. My goodness.
To increase airflow, you could use a dremmel tool to cut in-between the fins on the top cover. This will open the top cover, without changing the look of the case. You could even use the same type of screen on the top cover, that was used on the bottom of the case (gpu fan), to give it a more professional look. I really like the design choices you made on this build. Great Video!
Glad to see someone actually use those front panel connectors... Also please plug and get an Original Xbox controller have it go straight to Big Picture Mode on Steam. Getting the drivers for the OXC is pretty annoying though >.>.

Thought that this video was gonna be really uninspired and just was gonna be really shottily put together. I'm really glad you proved me wrong, Excellent work
Back in MY day the most impressive mod for the original Xbox was to install Windows on the original mainboard. RAM and CPU upgrades were possible as well. This is a really good build though, especially due to retaining the front classic Xbox ports, which as you mentioned are actually USB. I used a homebuilt adapter to use an Xbox controller on my PC back before it was mainstream. Hilariously this means you should be able to use OG Xbox controllers without any external adapters, with the right driver. The aluminum support frame worked out nicely too, but I do have a couple of suggestions. For the back, I think you could have cut just enough material to allow the ports to be accessible, maybe with the help of some epoxy to hold the plastic together where needed. Or else just use an I/O painted black, and paint the GPU slot vents too. Would stand out less. Just my two cents. Anyway the absolute BEST use of this previously broken Xbox is to... run and Xbox emulator.
very cool, I think it would look a little cleaner without the silver spacer for the DVD drive cover (painted black), also if the "feet" thing under it was also black, because these 2 details are distracting if you are used to the OG xbox.
This video really helped my build my first pc in a dead Xbox too! I used very similar hardware; an i3 9100F, stock cooler w/ 90mm be quite fan, 16GB DDR4, Asus mini itx mobo, silicon power 256gb nvme ssd, an evga gtx 1060 6gb, and a 350w flex atx psu by silverstone w/ a noctua fan mod (the stock one was louder than a stock intel cooler even at idle). I highly suggest you dremel out some airflow vents in the top of the case where the indentations are. it comes stock with vents on the side, so if you sand the vents cleanly it looks original tbh. I even threw in a rgb led strip inside so light glows through the vents, and I can turn them off for full stock look. You can go even further like I did and install 4, 40mm noctua fans (2 on each side of the case for intake and exhaust. I got them hooked up to a fan controller and run them at the lowest rpm just so there’s some type of airflow in the case, as I live in San Diego with no AC and it’s July lol. Even with stuffy ambient temps I never seen my cpu hit over 80c while running Aida 64 with stock cooler, and my gpu stayed around 70c while running gta 5 at 4K max settings. I plan on posting a RUclips video just to show the end result as it’s pretty solid considering I only put about $600 in total for the project, and just my overall experience building my first pc in a Xbox.
I have a Cryorig H7 and I love it. So good choice on going with Cryorig. I also suggest modding the vent on the bottom to run a Noctua fan. If ya have the fan oriented for intake, it'll have more airflow going into the GPU as it'll force air to enter the case. But it's just an idea and MIGHT not work but it also might work. Just something worth testing.

Also me: welcome im 2019
Should do a custom paint job. you can remove the green from the Jewl in the middle and make it clear or what ever you want. Ive done some pretty sick OG Xbox paint jobs
Take a shot every time he says "aluminium"
I Like it! It looks pretty good. I have disassembled my old XBox, and will start gathering parts to build a custom PC in the case!
Friend: is that Xbox?
You: yeah
Friend: Xbox is Gay!
You: im about to end this man whole career!
love the build man. for added cooling without harming the stock look you could maybe dremel out the vents, they already have the vented look on the top of the box. cheers man!
That's cool Linus did something like this but yours is so much better
Just a shame you had to cut the back panel off other than that its amazing
I want to build one myself too AHAH i recently build my first pc yesterday damm it
The front aluminum piece gives it a sporty look!
Didn't LTT just do this a few months ago?
I've been planning my build for years but money was always a problem. Plus the time to sink in.
The powerfully I'm gonna use is the HD PLEX. Saves a ton of room.
Please do emulation!!!!
Awesome vid!! Would have loved if you also showed us "the setup" with the pc running :))
