It's obvious that Ash's Sinnoh-Team gives Red the most trouble, because it's his only team where almost all of his pokemon are fully evolved with the exception of Buizel who also did a very good job. One could even call it a tie, since the hail would have knocked out Reds Charizard seconds after Ashs Infernape fainted. Still, Ash lost his last pokemon a few seconds before Red did, so technically, Red wins.

This battle was totally legit.
ikr, plus Gliscor not KO-ing the Pikachu with the Stone Edge, Lapras outspeeding Gliscor, Blastoise outspeeding PIkachu,Torterra outspeeding Charizard,and using Bite instead of Rock Climb, Buizel using Ice punch against Charizard, Staraptor not using Brave Bird against 60% HP Venusaur when it knew an Aerial Ace wouldn't be enough to KO without a crit. Also Red used items while "Ash" didn't. And I think I can see one or two more irregularities.
All in all, this was the most bullshit battle I've ever seen.

That was another close match with Ash and Red again. I almost thought Ash was gonna beat Red for a second there at the end.
Comic Fish, High level pokemons with High EV easily gain this much stats when lvling up.
Staraptor could've taken out Venasaur with minimal damage if it had used brave bird instead of aerial ace.

This is perhaps the ONLY time I am willing to give Ash credit: the Shinnoh League was the ONLY time Ash's team actually grew up! I mean...LOOK AT HIS ROSTER: A Staraptor, a Torterra, an Infernape, a Gliscor...a Buizel (yeah not evolved but still...) and he caught a Dragon pokemon for the first fuckin time! (yeah, yeah I know...beginning stage)
Not to mention he places 4th!! No, he's not better than Red...but god DAMN THIS was the Ash I wanted to see when I was watching the anime!

It would explain why Darkrai survived against Ash's (likely mid-70's) Heracross. Darkrai learns Dark Pulse at Level 93, which is at least how strong it was at the League.
One of his best Teams whit Kalos. And maybe fanmade Orange. Because his Crab, Bull, Muk, Lapras, Charizard and Snorlax are good team at all. Realy a shame what Muk and the other two dont become Part in his
Orange Main-Team.

Ash knows his way around type advantages and disadvantages. He's even been abiding by them more since Sinnoh by having his Pokemon learn token non-STAB moves to help cover their weaknesses, like teaching Aerial Ace to Quilava and Krookodile right before big League battles.
Also, Ash's Pikachu was weakened from having his Electric moves compromised. That, and Trip's Snivy was high-leveled. It already knew Leaf Storm.
Also, times Ash has abused type advantages to his favor: Jasmine, Jackson, Brandon (all three battles), Tobias, Burgh, Clay, Trip (Pignite vs Serperior), Cameron, every Kalos Gym Battle, Tierno, etc.

I actually get what you're saying, but tour wording is a really bad line of reasoning (to paraphrase: "it happens cuz plot"). Also, that Snivy wasn't LV5. Note the early usage of Leaf Storm.
In all honesty this would have been the region where Ash could have won if nintendo/anime creators hadn't thrown in fucking Tobias with his fucking Darkrai and Latios. IT WAS FUCKING BULLSHIT, and is why I just stopped watching the anime.

Me too. Maybe if Ash kept Gliscor available for Charizard, Stone Edge could've scored a decisive KO. Charizard's x4 weakness to Rock and low Defense would've been a turning point.
Torterra would've likely been better for handling Red's Pikachu. Electric immunity and highest Defense stat of the team would've done wonders.
I also agree that a Blastoise outspeeding a Pikachu is illogical in game. Outspeeding Torterra would've made sense, but not Pikachu.

To everyone complaining about the outcome of this battle, let me explain. The point of this battle wasn't necessarily for Ash to win, which would have been interesting to see. Though I've been with Pokémon since the Kanto anime, if I were to put myself in the shoes of someone new to Pokémon through the X and Y games, with no knowledge of Red or Ash's Sinnoh team, I think it was just to see how close Ash would come winning against Red.
This battle made a lot of sense, if you consider every single calculation. Ash's personality causing him to get cocky and reflecting that in the battle style being used, Buizel using Ice Punch expecting a Charizard/Venusaur switch out and being unfortunate enough to guess wrong, etc. I think this battle was quite fair in that regard, and whether the screw ups were intentional or just plain stupid thinking, this is still proof that Ash has the potential to beat Red with this team.
As I've already stated to "The Sucker", if you want to see Ash win against Red, the easiest solution is to either write a fanfiction or similar story where Ash wins, or get one of the DS Johto games, call yourself Ash, trade and/or hack to build up Ash's team as depicted in this video, and do it yourself, dickwads.
And that is the best way I can put it without getting mean and nasty about it, because if I put it any other way, then what separates me from the assholes that I am trying to call out?
But remember the anime and game are different
TechnoGaming KV True, but at the same time, they DO observe basic rules and strategies. Like how at the Sinnoh League, Conway used a Trick Room team against Ash that's eerily similar to what one would use in Gen 4 competitive play. Not to mention while there were exceptions to the rules early on the anime, type match ups are always identical to the games.
And as I've already addressed, Buizel using Ice Punch may have been trying to replicate Ash being cocky, but was more likely a failed prediction that Charizard would be swapped out for Venusaur. Given the type match up and Gen 4 AI, that makes sense. But the AI also took some other factor into account making it seem like Buizel was a low enough threat for Charizard to stay out against.

soravalor2 Uh, trying to keep true to Ash being the anime version is probably why THIS GUY didn't use Full Restores, mate (been watching a lot of Steve Irwin lately and picking up the accent, lol). Only healing items utilized by the anime are berries and Super Potion, and even then, never in battle.
Has nothing to do with Ash being a wimp. If he DID have Full Restores he could use in a battle in the anime, he would have won most major battles he lost, like he Charizard lost to Blaziken, or against Tobias at the Sinnoh League.

To top it all off he even beat the elite four with ease. Well I'm still just comparing the anime to the game so...

I think the only reason was that he didn't want red using his full restore so he was trying to get chariard low enough for water pulse to one shot... or it was just a misclick

In the Reds world (GAMES) he can buy and use them to heal his Pokemon. In Ash's world (ANIME) they seem to be too incompetent to make such things, thus Ash has to rely on Anime Magic
To people who say Ash sucks he doesn't train his Pokémon and he he doesn't evolve them ok remember the anime is different from the game and manga, two he has trained his Pokémon a lot but remember team rocket always get in the way, if I remember correctly he has fought some elite four and lost to them, and why he doesn't use any old Pokémon in new seasons til the Pokémon League after Johto is because he wants to catch new Pokémon and train them, and also why he barely evolves his Pokémon it's because he respects them enough to wait for their permission first remember the whole thunderstone thing he wanted pikachu to decide if it wanted to evolve first and he kept it just incase Pikachu changed his mind and I believe in his heart he hoped Pikachu won't change his mind, and as for items and money remember this is different from the games and manga so don't complain about Ash. And one more thing Ash is the anime version of Red.

If you think that, maybe you only has watched the Vs. Team Rocket [almost always filler] battles. He fought Elite Four trainers, but you know (well... no, I think you don´t) E4 is so much different in anime, they´re really overpowered as the champions, and it´s indirectly specified that you need to become into a league champion to have the right to fight them officially... Agatha, by the way, mentioned that Battle Frontier brains were as powerful as the E4 themselves... And our main character defeated them all. Sometimes he is like an innocent Alice in Wonderland when he travels with his frnds, but in battle, he rocks almost always, he has very good moments, sometimes with plot-forced victories, sometimes with very satisfied well achieved victories (using battle field strategies, very original combinations, flexible counter-attacks, or just trusting in his pkmn power in the right moment.) ***** No, that`s not right, I like "Ash series" like you said, but the reason of the difference is because the series purposes, The Origin was just to present the original games plot to the new generations without make another Kanto remake, and to give something to us, the veterans. Its length does nothing have to do with the people preferences, The Origin was very good too... It was shorter to show just the important... the conventional anime (Satoshi`s/Ash`s) has another comercial purpose, and it has EVIDENTLY a different version of the things.
I sadly have to say that normally Ashs team was stronger than Reds in this Battle. But somebody didn't knew when to use which attack -.-

I like these videos but he always makes ash lose on purpose. Like he used Buisel against Charizard, and he could've finished on Charizard but he used Ice Punch, forcing Red to Full Restore, and when he used Infernape he used flame wheel which did nothing. And that's just some of the things he did to purposly make Ash lose

No, I hacked the game to give Ash's pokemon fitting levels. But it seems like this messed up the game in some way, it probably maxed out the EV's and IV's of Starraptor or something. Not sure what exactly went wrong there.

With the help of others. Lance helped disband Magma and Aqua (along with realizing what they wanted was insane) and Cynthia, Team Rocket, and the Investigator guy (forgot his name) helped take down Team Galactic.
Ash barely has any trouble with Team Rocket e.e
And Red never took down Team Rocket. He beat Giovanni but the organization had kept running for years afterward until Gold came and cleaned up the mess Red couldn't handle

To better clarify, Buizel's signature move is Aqua Jet, which was completely ignored in favor of Water Pulse; Torterra knew Rock Clomb but instead tried using Bite; Infernape replaced its Flame Wheel with Flare Blitz (which raises eyebrows over the lack of Dig in its move pool here) AND had Flamethrower in reserve; and Staraptor has Brave Bird as its ace-in-the-hole. If any one... maybe two... of these had been accounted for, Red would've lost in the end

Why Flame Wheel on Charizard, at such an important moment, a more powerful move like Flare Blitz or or more effective (and not fatal) move like Mach Punch could have provided the necessary edge to not lose to Charizard by like 1 HP

OMG that was insanely close. Makes sense, Ash's Sinnoh team was the best one. And also not surprisingly, he had the highest placement he ever got in the league tournament - Top 4. And the only reason he didn't go on to win the whole thing was because of a guy with two legendaries. He's the Ash I respect the most.
Also, I have to say this was the first time Red withdrew one of his Pokemon. I guess even 'he' felt the pressure for this one lol. This was also the first time Ash tried to open with a different Pokemon than Pikachu. I was surprised by that too. He kinda fumbled with Staraptor in not using Brave Bird to try and TKO Venusaur but oh well, Staraptor fought well.
You know what the best part is about your videos? They're completely realistic! I mean.....not in the sense of conventional battling, but I mean realistic to their characters.

This was a stupid battle, but ashes team isn't that high leveled. Except his L100 pikachu. Give ash better stuff but way lower levels
why a gen1 pikachu can use voltackle
It's based off Ash's Pikachu in the anime, since Ash's Pikachu has been to every region, it can basically learn any move
Well Ethan had some troubles with Ash (Sinnoh) so yeah Red might have some problems as well.

This was utter bullshit. Staraptor should've used brave bird, Infernape should've taken down Charizard with it and Buizel should've used water pulse on Charizard from the beginning. Ash is not that stupid
Probably the player was emulating Ash's stupidity (present on the TV series) as well. Using Gliscor against Pikachu, leaving Torterra to be crushed by Charizard. Using Buizel's Ice Punch on Charizard instead of Water Pulse... The only improvement for the last battles was not to spend Pikachu on a Volt Tackle vs Volt Tackle as previously seen... This match could have a different outcome with better choices/switches of pokemon and better attack callings.

You coulda sent in infernape to finish off vensaur with flame thrower or even flare blitz. Snorelax would have come in and you could have mac punched it or even flare blitz it. I dont know if snorlax knows earthquake but dig also could have delt damage. That wpuld have left maybe a little health for infernape. And a full healthy starraptor. Maybe a close combat or even brave bird would have finished off charizard
Why don't ash use full restore
Because he never once used a healing item inside of battle. The only time he did use a healing item was in episode 12 when Pikachu got hurt, but even then that wasn't in battle.
Not to mention it is extremely rare that the writers even have their pokemon use healing items in the anime where as in the games certain trainers use these normally.
Ash actually won this one, only full restores gave Red win this time
