    @1984Punx just at a local printer, I designed the layout in corel draw, printed it out on paper, see if it fits good, make adjustments and then once I was happy with the layout I sent the vector to a print shop and them print it. Remember this needs to be done in a vector format not in photoshop because the printer needs the vector file to cut it out

  • @TheJWeb
    @TheJWeb  13 лет назад

    well i had it out today and it's not bad, just when your getting the paint there are different kinds. rust paint, lacker paint ect. just when you go to buy paint talk to the guy and make sure the clear coat and the paint you use along with your primer all work together. i'm no paint expert but i know some paints to go together well with different primers and clears.

  • @TheJWeb
    @TheJWeb  12 лет назад

    i do wear it . i'm not out all the time right now just doing drop in but it seems to be holding up well. i used cheap stuff from lordco and its doing well. i think more then the amout of clear coat its the quality, what brand how you apply it ect..

    While doing my base coat, the layer of paint got very uneven in a lot of spots. What is the best way to get these layers of paint even again?

    2 quick questions: I have a 2 year old ProMask Sector that needs a new paintjob. I'm not looking for a custom design or anything, just a white coat on top. It's painted golden with some really wierd paint. I asked my local airbrusher if he could fix it, but he would charge me 90 bucks for it!
    Should i remove the old paint first or should i just prime over it and then spray on 4-5 white coats.
    Tips would be much appreciated!

    Ive heard that if you put too much clear coat it will cause it to chip from pucks. Not sure if you are the wearer of this mask or not or if youve gotten feedback from whoever is wearing it, in regards to the paint chipping or not. Im looking into painting my own mask right now with posca pens and airbrushing and just kinda gathering information on what to do.

    I paint motorbike helmets and goalie helmets in my free time, but I use an airbrush. Your helmet looks great! nice idea using the sticker. The only criticism I have is the mask you are using is not rated for organic vapor (spray paint), it is a dust mask, so although it is blocking the paint particles, the fumes are still getting through. I suggest you get a org-vap rated niosh mask, (unless you like getting a bit high)
    Cool stuff!

    I'm curious as to how you got the inside padding in and out. It seems like mine is glued in, did you just tear it out and reglue it? Or is the padding attached in some other way? I'll take a closer look at my mask before I put it on before tonight's game.

    • @danielregaldo1365

      In higher end masks the padding is held in mechanically with screws.

      I am actually in the process of rebuilding it and I'm doing a follow-up video for this one. Should be done by Spring 2020. I'll be sharing all the things I learned and the do's and don'ts from this video. Regarding the template unfortunately I'm not giving it out. Was a ton of work. The reality is that design needs to be custom built for every different style of helmet

    Great job Jeremie! Researching to paint my catcher's mask, glad I came across your video. Was all of your paint and clear coat rated for automotive use? What grit size was your sandpaper? How durable has this method turned out to be? Hopefully you haven't had to take too many shots to the head....

      @TheJWeb  11 лет назад +1

      had it now for about a year or 2 and taken a few shots to the head and it's still holding up awesome actually.. longer then my pro painted ones! haha may just fluke I haven't been hit in the head as much ? but ya automotive paint and sandpaper up to I think I did 1200
