Favourite reaction to this song. Glad you loved it. Probably my favourite song of the year. Btw, Nemophila does a killer version of this. Mayu is at her banshee best.
Shimi is an old MTH song and this is a collaboration of different styles of music and also generations, but not vastly different attitudes. It works so well because the original version of Shimi had the slower more melodic parts sung by their drummer, Nao, so substituting Atarashii Gakko sounds natural - Nao still gets to sing the final "melodic bit". I'll leave it to MTH fans to give you more info on them. AG! are the four women in the school sailor suits. Their name means "New School" and they are a song and dance group formed back in 2015 and are managed by Asobisystem and 88Rising. Mizyu (two hair bunches and air shamisen) had already worked with Asobisystem as a backup dancer with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Suzuka, Kanon and Rin joined her. Suzuka's extrovert personality and strong voice make her the obvious front woman on stage, she's the tallest and has the first solo in the video, but AG! are always quick to say that they have no leader. They are all trained dancers and do all of the choreography themselves and work with various producers on the songs. Their artistic input sets them apart from most J-pop and K-pop idol type groups and their stage shows are performed with a unique joy and flair. They've all worked hard on their voices and now have excellent control with Suzuka taking the lead, Rin often rapping and Mizyu and Kanon doing more melodic parts. They just released a new album called "AG! Calling" and are on the second half of their first World Tour. AG!'s music is all over the place, but their style is always entertaining and fun and for an intro to them have a look for "Atarashi Gakko, Otona Blue, The First Take". Make sure you turn on the English subtitles.
This is fantastic. Shimi is an older MTH track from 2007. AG fit into this collab incredibly well. MTH is pretty legandary in Japan and very influential. Hanabie started out as a MTH cover band and the drummers from Band-Maid & Nemophila were inspired by MTH's drummer, Nao (She was the last solo singer in the video) that girls could be drummers. MTH loves genre flips on a dime and it works perfectly. The visuals in this MV are phenomenal. Grungy, post apocalyptic, traditional Japanese culture, even some Japanese horror movie elements. Movie quality production.
Lost of people say this... but it´s a little strange, there´s another famous female metal drummer: Miki Tsunoda from the band Show-Ya, founded in 1981 (same year as X-Japan but a little earlier) and she is still active in this band.
@@josemanuelperez2853 Lost = Lots. I know Sjow-Ya, both Tamu from Nemophila & Akane from Band-Maid have mentioned Nao specically, hence why it's mentioned consistently. Nemophila has played with Show-Ya and has done covers as well. So not strange my dude.
This music is released 17 years ago.Little arrangement was added on making collaboration this time. Please listen to their music made most newly to compare it. 「殺意 vs 殺意」「intent to murder : intent to kill」 ruclips.net/video/8Nd5XmZtVzU/видео.html
Omg, Maximum the Hormone. One of those under the radar bands for us Westerners but holy f*ck. When I run into another fan irl, it’s like “I know, right?!?”
One of my favorite things about this version is a little touch. There's a pick slide at 1:18, then when that part repeats at 5:18, instead of the pick slide, the AG girls scream. I dig little touches like that.
MTH does allow you to breathe, you just need to wait for the melodic parts of their songs. So, work on your lung capacity if you intend to listen to MTH. BTW, Atarashii Gakko atop that tori while head-banging will remain one of the most iconic things I have ever seen.

Both groups involved are definitely worth looking into more and I’m sure other comments have gone into great detail on both
reactionサイコー‼️😂
マキシマムは真剣にふざけてるからサイコー🎉
Finally you reacted to the legendary band Maximum the Hormone, the godfather of metal genre bending in Japan🤘I just wish you finish the video though..
