...after all these years, it still sends a tingle down my spine watching this with the intro music.Gran Turismo never really nailed it like this one did.

It's a bit debatable. The GT1 Intro with the remixed Manic Street Preachers song was also one of the finest racing game intros ever IMO.
GT3 intro with Feeder Just a Day, is its only other competitor.
For sheer atmosphere this is untouchable for anything I've ever played
It's been years, and the intro still gave me the goosebumps.
10 years. This game is 10 years old and still looks like it was released yesterday.
This is still my favourite single player racing game. Gran Turismo Sport has beaten it in the online section.. and then there are the simulators... but in the space it excels it is still the best. Single player arcade racing fun.

This will forever be my favorite gaming intro.
Usually I don't like when I hear "best intro, music or film ever". But I can't find a better intro for a video game.
The sound track is so creative. The original is "Noone knows - Queens of the Stone Age" and it sounds VERY different.
That is because this is the UNKLE/Lavelle remix. My version of the game says it at the end of this intro.
I still remember as a kid my father would boot up this game and the intro always fascinated me, he even let me play it sometimes but man the nostalgia of the intro it sends tingles down my spine
same here. i remember my dad starting up this game and the intro just had a crazy feeling about it. no other racing games have intros like this one.

One of my favorite racing games with almost all Need for Speed franchise, FlatOut 2, Colin McRae DiRT 2 and Test Drive Unlimited

Seeing this intro again makes me want to floor it around Circuit De La Sarthe. It hasn't aged and still looks fantastic.
