I have them on my dr650. They are doing pretty good on mine. The speed rating on the front tire is only 72! The rear tire is 94. My DR is run in the 70 plus mph often. I will find something else for the front.
They've broken in nicely for me. I'll never run them on anything over a 250 again though. They're great tires on a smaller bike, but not enough for the DR.
It's not really protection. I can mount a generic Rotopax Gas can there. I decided against it though. Sooner or later, I'll remove the mount or reinforce the oil cooler guard. I don't trust it as it is though. Sorry for the late reply. I just seen this. Should have some more videos coming soon! YaY riding season 2024 is here.
@@thedudetravels6737 I had forgotten about this video. I did get the 700s and have been happy with them. They are good on the highway as well as gravel/dirt roads. For gravel they are one of the better tires I have had. Previously I had Kenda Big Blocks and the 700's feel better on gravel and pavement then they did. I haven't had them in heavy mud yet but presume they will plug up pretty quickly.
@@Doug_Morgan I'm about ready for some new rubber on the back. I'm gonna go with another sr244 just to match the front tire. Next season, I'm either trying the 700s or I've been reading a lot of good things about Tusk tires, similar price range so I might try them. Decisions, decisions. Glad you're liking the 700s. Safe travels.
You're pushing a DR650 one-banger 95mph on the highway? I don't think tires are your problem, I think speeding on a bike not made for that kind of speed is your problem.
Yeah maybe, just keeping up with traffic here at times. For the most part I try to stay off the major interstates. That's not something I do often, and try to avoid it when I can.
Those are cloth Stanton saddle bags. Purchased on Amazon. This is my second season with them. They sort of fit between the seat bolt and luggage rack under the seat with a little manuevering. They're then zip tied to the passenger pegs. I use them all the time and they've never shifted on me and they're super handy. I've been thinking about ordering another pair for when these start wearing out. They're holding up great though, at least how I use them. Around town, light camping. I don't think I'd use them for a serious cross country adventure, but they've held up well for my needs so far.
I've only had issues on the thruway and that was when I first put them on. I think I got used to them, but I try not to go much faster than 75 mph. I did get a rear flat recently and had a hell of a time lining up the bead after replacing the inner tube.

What is that type of protection you have attached to your oil cooler bar?

I see the 700's have a similar tread and front and rear are rated for 112. (S speed rating)
Thanks for this, I'll probably look into those next season.
@@thedudetravels6737 Just one of the many tires I a looking at to put on my 650 in the future. I haven't decided on what yet.

Mine has been a wobbly mess

Switch the front up
How so? Any suggestions?
