We're in our 60s and this is by FAR our favorite hotel in Cancun for the value. We've gone here MANY times. We didn't go this year because we travelled with our grandkids and as you mentioned, it's adult only, but we REALLY missed this hotel. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. It's a complete pleasure all the way around. Experiencing another alternative this year, just made us appreciate this hotel all the more! There was a BIG difference! I think you're right about the art work changing. I think it changed since last year. Another thing I noticed when you showed the beach is that before, they had some beds on the beach that were reserved for certain levels of rooms, but I didn't see them there. If they've taken them out, we will really miss that. A suggestion if someone is planning to go to the black & white steak house. Plan to check in and then waste a little bit of time. There is always a wait time as opposed to any of the other restaurants. BUT, they have an option on the menu for lobster which many other hotels either don't offer or charge extra for. Be careful about the activities guys when you enter the theater. I don't think they work for the hotel and we've had some problems with either mistakes or misrepresenting details of the activities. A BIG thing for us, being older and both having back problems, is that as you mentioned, the cove-shaped beach protects from large waves. It has some of the calmest water on the peninsula. Tips are NOT expected or encouraged and you get great, friendly service just the same. That's a big thing when you spend a lot of time walking around in swimsuits and trying not to carry a lot of money or personal belongings with you. The HUGE shower in the rooms is WONDERFUL. The balconies of the rooms are also really nice. They also have liquor dispensers in the rooms as well as a stock of drinks and snacks in the room that are included, which is not the case with all hotels. A tip for ANYONE staying in Cancun for the first time. Do NOT leave the balcony doors with the air conditioner running. The resulting flood in your room from the humidity will not be the high point of your stay. I'm ashamed to say, I speak from personal experience.
You did a great job on the review! Thank you very much!

I stayed at RIU Palace Las Americas from February 26 until March 5, 2024. This hotel was awesome and the staff was so courteous and caring. I had a great time as it was my first time to Cancun and out of the country USA. I give this resort five stars! Also loved the night life at RIU Caribe for the White and Neon parties. I didn't want to leave. The restaurants were great and the food was excellent. I would recommend this resort. Met some nice people on the beach while I was there. I recommend RIU Palace Las Americas.

The RIUs are all very different… if you’re going solo and want to meet people, RIU Cancun might be better for you. Las Americas has an older demographic and more couples.. but if you are looking for a quiet vacation, that might be a good choice for you as well. The nice thing about staying at a RIU Palace is that you can visit the other RIUs in the area - so you could visit Cancun anytime during your trip, but not vice versa if staying at Cancun.

No, you don’t have to tip everyone you come into contact with! You technically don’t have to tip anyone at all, but it is customary to tip a little. We usually tip the bell boys a few dollars, a few dollars at breakfast and lunch and a bit more at dinner - $5 to $10 depending on service 👍🏻 we also tip bartenders, but not for every drink.. just at our discretion. Hold On....!!! Didn't they ban smoking in Mexico as of Jan 15 or 16, 2023..? Only place to smoke would be private homes..? What have I missed since then.?

It’s not banned completely - most resorts have designated smoking areas.

@@WherewegoingNext Interesting turn of events, however, limiting people to a tiny area to smoke I would assume is something people wouldn't go for - if they can't smoke "where they are". Anyways, doesn't hinder me - so my brother can't come with us...LOL Thanks for the quick response - great videos and 4k quality.

Great video but you’re driving me crazy with your use of à la carte. Everything is included in the restaurants. They are quite the opposite of À la carte.
