I'm sorry but I also have no sympathy for an idiot who gets himself willing locked up in a suitcase at the behest of a woman like Sarah Boone lol. Like no bs this has got to be the first death by suitcase in all of humankind smh. And you know why? Because no one's stupid enough to put themselves into one smh. Man I don't understand it 🤷🏾‍♂️ the only victim's in this are Jorges kids and the taxpayers.

I'm a criminal defense attorney in California. In my opinion, James Owen's performance was horrible. However, Suitcase Sarah was destined for a guilty verdict because she had no reasonable doubt story.
She reminds me of many clients I had who thought they could talk their way out of it despite the overwhelming evidence against them.
Suitcase Sarah deserves the highest sentence under the law. She wasted the time and resources of the court. She offended the victim's family. She showed zero remorse.
Suitcase Sarah stared into the abyss, and the abyss laughed at her with the strong odor of wine on its breath

Owens never brought up the a true defense which was self defense under Battered Spouse Syndrome (or whatever they call it). He asked questions about stuff which never came back to that and if anything, brought out more about what kind of controlling nut job Sarah was! The entire defense team looked like something off of the Looney Tunes program with everyone chasing their tail and pointing fingers at each other as to who did what, when it was filed or mailed, the never ending screwed up exhibit list, etc.

It was the biggest sh!t show of a defense I've ever seen. I kept asking myself, has this guy really been an attorney for many years? The whole team is put together were so unorganized, they should be embarrassed. Owens also couldn't look past what he was being told by Sarah, he seemingly refused or pretended that one of the main sources of evidence existed (suitcase video) and ignored the rest. The prosecution using the jury instructions during closing, going step by step was really helpful for the jury, imo, then Owens follows up with an unorganized mess to no surprise.

James Owen's was in far over his head, on this particular case. He said it himself in his closing argument, he and his team are from a small town in Florida and hadn't anticipated how difficult a task this was going to be, feeling slightly overwhelmed. The fact he had such little time to prepare didn't help at all but the fact remains, Sarah's fate hate already been sealed from the get go. The prosecution had four and a half years to prepare a strong case against her and my goodness, they were incredible! This is simply my opinion, having watched the entire trial, beginning to end.

He spent way too much time filing frivolous motions and not enough preparing his arguments for trial. Probably didn't even look at all the evidence. Sloppy delivery and illogical strategy all around. And if it turns out there was any talk or negotiation prior to her conviction either with Sarah or third parties for the rights to tell her story, she just got a legitimate reason to ask for a new trial on appeal. Good job, Owens, sacrificing your career for your client is really going to boost ratings.

im sure owens is reading all these comments and he will tell her to muster up some kind of fake remorse or sad emotion at sentencing

I don’t care if someone is unlikeable, that doesn’t make them guilty of murder. Their actions should dictate what they should be held accountable for. She didn’t let him out of the suitcase, she used a bat to keep him in there. Those actions are what she is convicted for as it should be.

A lawyer from a small town a 6 hour drive away answered a hand drawn circus flier advertisement. Street view his office in Milton on Google Earth. This guy was desperate for clients and thought he was going to get her off, be as famous as Johnnie Cochran, and move on to celebrity and riches. Instead he flamed right into the ground.
