The only thing that sucks about my school lunch is the lunch lines. We always have these people who be like “Hey I know you” and proceeds to cut the whole line. Most of the time the lunch line would be going out in the hallway and these people gotta be cutting the entire line.
as a person with autism i was able to skip the line by leaving the classroom 5 minutes early before the bell rang.. it was on my IEP and all that stuff so most of the time i was able to eat lunch like 1-2 minutes early

haha i tried so hard to fit in at lunch. in my later years of elementary i ate in the principal's office because too many kids instigated with me, and every year after that i would spend some months trying to learn how to socialize until i eventually gave up and just ate in the sped room. im also hypersensitive to food so it was very hard to stay in there even without people screwing with me.
to be fair inviting people to your lunch table hasn’t worked out too bad for me, bc the one time i did it hes ended up in our friend group for 3 years now he was sitting alone and some of us had classes with him but he didn’t talk with anyone in the school but after he started talking with us he became more social and even made other friends in different classes
I'm currently a freshman in high school. My school is open campus, even for the freshman, so I haven't had to go in the lunch room a SINGLE DAY! I bring my own lunch, and in fact I've never even set foot in the lunch room. It's so much more fun than the traditional way. We get to do the most ridiculous stuff (safely) and no one tells us not to. Climbing trees, building forts, hide & seek throughout the neighborhood, rolling in the tire they use for football practice. People call my friends and I childish, but honestly I don't care 😂, because I guarantee we're having more fun than them just sitting there discussing drama in a crowded room. Anyways, moral of the story, don't stop doing what you enjoy just because it's a little "weird" or "unusual", because you shouldn't let yourself bend to peer pressure and just sit around, because before you know it you'll be too busy to do what you want. 😊
we here in eastern europe don't have lunches in school, we get out our lunch and eat in the classroom and that was the best since you already have a table, home packed food and you can go up and talk with your friends while eating, it was the best
my school had strawberry milk back in like 4th grade, and it was FIRE, there was a whole ass black market for this stuff. kids would come to school with freezer bags and ice packs, go and grab 2 or 3, 4 if you were lucky, the kitchen people didn't really care if we took multiple, since we were the last grade to eat, but you'd get a slap on the wrist depending who was running the lunch line that day, eventually we learned that taking only 1 wasn't worth it, take 2 if you feel like your gonna be caught, taking 3 was the norm, and you'd take 4 if you felt like you wouldn't get caught, taking anymore was too risky. once the strawberry milk cartons were secured, you put them in your freezer bag once you'd gotten to your table where your group was and take inventory, determine how much milk to bring tomorrow, and split profits. Then you'd head home and add to your stockpile, and the next day you bring your amount of the predetermined total amount of milk in. Once recess came around giant open filed we used for outdoor gym and kids would sneak behind the building out of sight of the recess monitors and do business, we'd sit around and wait for kids to come and buy some, in the beginning of the year it started out really slow as lunch was after recess, but we still sold quite a bit, around 2nd trimester things really started picking up as lunch got moved to before recess and kitchen staff started getting a bit more strict so the average kid wouldn't be able to get their hands on as much milk as taking the previous normal amount of 3 cartons would get you in trouble, but by this point we had a pretty decent stockpile so the black market groups would be your only reliable way of getting more than 2 a day. my groups tri 1 prices were ~$2 dollars/carton, ~$10/6 cartons, our tri 2-3 prices were ~$3.50/carton, ~$17.50/6 cartons. our prices were high, though we had the biggest stockpile, so we didn't run out. Kids really took this seriously, we had security, we payed people to give us intel on our competitors prices, stocks, ect. eventually around the end of the year the monitors started getting more and more suspicious of the amount of kids going around to the back of the building, and then about 2 months from the end of the year, a 4th grade "gang war" broke out and kids got into fights, money was stolen, groups were busted by the monitors, and it all culminated in a rival groups de-facto leader's house getting broken into and in retaliation the group who was thought to have stolen the money being jumped. Police got involved, parents sued the school, fortunately we were able to skirt most of the trouble. then the school took away strawberry milk next year, the break in and jumping were probably exaggerated, but were at least based on the truth
I didn't really sit in the lunch area in high school. I either chilled in the hallways, went to a classroom for whichever of my classes (Usually JROTC or Japanese) or played sports in the Gyms (soccer was always fun). That said I do remember some of the shenanigans from my elementary and middle school days.
Bro those JROTC rooms are the best, they got cool ac that actually works in summer and board/card games and sht, also for some reason the noise isolation in that room is really good. There could be a riot going on in the cafe and you wouldn't hear anything if you close the door.

I, being the more outspoken co-leader, told them to back away nicely and gave them a reason why, they were being jerks and that's when the less outspoken one and a couple of other friends proceeded to pull the intimidation tactic, and it worked bc they've seen us get into full on brawls that looked and felt really painful. Ik this may sound silly but: A, they knew we've been here since we were freshmen and B, they pushed that one friend we'd do anything to protect/love him to death (you just don't mess with the pure/protected one man)
man, i rember this one year, when on day one as a freshman i found a table with barely anyone at it, just 3 other social rejects (and this is a long table mind you, like 20 seats per side) and i take my place away from everyone else and thats my place for about a month or two, until 2 guys show up ad sit at the very edge. thats alright, theres not many people there and im 3/4 seats away. a week later they bring in their friends, about 5 now. a little uncomfortable but alright. then over time im slowly surrounded by other people ive never seen in my life and i just didnt know what to do, so i just reported to the exact same seat til the next year and decided to just be a damn hallway seater.

ironicly, the cafeteria at my school has too much room, since lunch is done by building number and not by grade. It's nice for meeting people from other grades, and being at a table by yourself if you don't feel like talking, but it also means i can't see my "girlfriend" consistently. Also, I am that kid who runs to lunch, and people almost seem to cheer me on. I really don't like being at the back of any line, and it matters because if I'm at the back, the "preferred item" would be gone.

My senior year of high school they added a lunch line that was just chicken tenders in a pita bread wrap, where you could choose what you want on it like at subway. And they made the best Buffalo sauce I’ve ever had to this day. We weren’t even a wealthy school but those were some damn good chicken wraps lol
We didnt have any cafeteria tables, you'd just brijg your own lunch and go to specified areas to sit or play, like the rugby field or the hockey/soccer field (Or the 1st-3rd graders playground if you got lucky)

I didn't really sit in the lunch area in high school. I either chilled in the hallways, went to a classroom for whichever of my classes (Usually JROTC or Japanese) or played sports in the Gyms (soccer was always fun). That said I do remember some of the shenanigans from my elementary and middle school days.

Bro those JROTC rooms are the best, they got cool ac that actually works in summer and board/card games and sht, also for some reason the noise isolation in that room is really good. There could be a riot going on in the cafe and you wouldn't hear anything if you close the door.
@@calebgao6931 FR. We could have our own parties in JROTC and the school wouldn't even know unless the doors were open, and vice versa. I loved how the JROTC rooms at my school were pretty much in the basement of one of the buildings so going up and down the stairs between classes was fun as well

The reason I sat at lunch alone was solely because all of my friends had a different lunch shift.
“The council of homies” lol I love it and also we had this one roast session on the buss and everyone was in on it, 6th grader to 8th grader. Me and another dude where the main characters and all the other homies where taking sides based off who had the best joke and I ended up winning, the dude respected me for the rest of the year. We had a meeting with the homies and determined he was afraid of me. I was 6th grade at that time he was 8th.
honestly, my friend group never gave a damn about lunch tables, we actively went to a lil unspoken corner with a regular amount of traffic, just enough for all 9ish of us to sit at. We loved our spot bc it was at a mid point for all of us to our respected classes and gave us enough enough room to be goofy.
SCHOOL RECONSTRUSTION ROLLS AROUND and we ended up getting into a squabble with another 9 person group bc they came first and were invading our space even tho we had pretty definitive boarders. I, being the more outspoken co-leader, told them to back away nicely and gave them a reason why, they were being jerks and that's when the less outspoken one and a couple of other friends proceeded to pull the intimidation tactic, and it worked bc they've seen us get into full on brawls that looked and felt really painful.
Ik this may sound silly but: A, they knew we've been here since we were freshmen and B, they pushed that one friend we'd do anything to protect/love him to death (you just don't mess with the pure/protected one man)
man, i rember this one year, when on day one as a freshman i found a table with barely anyone at it, just 3 other social rejects (and this is a long table mind you, like 20 seats per side) and i take my place away from everyone else and thats my place for about a month or two, until 2 guys show up ad sit at the very edge. thats alright, theres not many people there and im 3/4 seats away. a week later they bring in their friends, about 5 now. a little uncomfortable but alright. then over time im slowly surrounded by other people ive never seen in my life and i just didnt know what to do, so i just reported to the exact same seat til the next year and decided to just be a damn hallway seater.

ironicly, the cafeteria at my school has too much room, since lunch is done by building number and not by grade. It's nice for meeting people from other grades, and being at a table by yourself if you don't feel like talking, but it also means i can't see my "girlfriend" consistently. Also, I am that kid who runs to lunch, and people almost seem to cheer me on. I really don't like being at the back of any line, and it matters because if I'm at the back, the "preferred item" would be gone.

Me and the homies just play cards against humanity at our table. Usually, they have a 6 person per table policy. But they have given in as they just want us to be happy and enjoy our lunch. We aren't the only ones, but we certainly have the most people. Good stuff

My senior year of high school they added a lunch line that was just chicken tenders in a pita bread wrap, where you could choose what you want on it like at subway. And they made the best Buffalo sauce I’ve ever had to this day. We weren’t even a wealthy school but those were some damn good chicken wraps lol

We didnt have any cafeteria tables, you'd just brijg your own lunch and go to specified areas to sit or play, like the rugby field or the hockey/soccer field

My school always had one option on the lunch line that never changed, which was just a plain spicy chicken sandwich, and I'd always get that unless they had pizza or beef and cheese burritos, all of which surprisingly didn't taste like either trash or processed grease
